Thank-You so much for this video, I managed to fix mine following your steps. I had the same problem where the ground wire had burnt but the taillight was not working at all and luckily here in the UK there is a-lot of spare E46 parts around :)
I have an e46 m3, my front passenger (left side) headlight is flickering bi-xenon and some people mentioned the rear tail light ground could be causing my issues as I have new bulbs and been going around in circles with this fault. Which I find bizarre, only thing is my tail lights are led so does the ground still apply in the same way. Thanks
Great video but ur still gonna have same issue come up again in couple years!! Splice into the ground wire (brown) midway & add a thicker gauge wire to a ground bolt nearby. Promise I've been through all this twice on each light bec I was replacing harnesses & not doing a permanent fix. Your new harnesses will melt again if you don't
Edit: You can also use the tab in stock taillights instead of bolt. I have aftermarket enzos so I have to use a bolt. There's a nearby bolt on each side. If using the tab, make sure it's the outer one
Hey Bro are you able to find me some pigtail for my e46 I have the same issue I would buy them from you just name a price I’d appreciate it I need it for both left and right side tail lights

If you can add another ground wire to it that would be better and itll last you longer

Thank you. And yes that would be the best way to reground the harness.
