    I still miss my 95 SR5 4Runner. My girlfriends son drove it when it had a leaking head gasket when we told him not to while we we both were at work and warped the head. Didn't have the funds to replace so we had to sell. She is my ex-gf now and don't miss her one bit.

      The 4runner made around 180hp on a good day, the supercharger bumped that up to around 220-230 i believe. id really like to get one they are just expensive and then gas millage goes down and you have to use premium fuel.

      Love this Toyota too but disagree about Jeep reliability. My 2004 Grand Cherokee has been stellar for 10 years. Inline 6 4.0 engine has been known to go well over 300k+ milles. BMWs are unreliable though. Had an E46 and E39. Horrible to maintain.

    Very surprised the rear bumper is not rotted especially since you live where it snows and they use salt on the roads. I owned a 1998 as well in the same exact color exterior and interior and all the same features as you have , except mine had the factory option fender flares on it. My rear bumper started rusting from the inside out in it's 12th year. I got lucky as my neighbor backed into it in the back and the rear bumper had to be replaced with a brand new one. Sold it to my Uncle in 2012

  • @mrbean022387
    @mrbean022387 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I see your from MN, how is the frame rust on you're 4Runner? I have a 99 with 75,000 from Wisconsin and the frame Is kind of bad typical orange peel flakey rust, but I could see my frame getting way worse if I still lived there. The Salt just kills these frames.

    • @kdmmods3931
      @kdmmods3931  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think my 4runner had some sort of an undercoating from the factory. Cause the bottom of the doors look like they have a thicker paint. The frame paint is starting to flake away and there is rust under neath. For right now its all surface rust. I think if my parents want to try to save this truck they should have it professionally undercoated.
      Yours has 75k miles!?!?! Thats crazy! Keep that thing mint man! I wax twice a year and make sure i get the under neath wash when i get a car wash. That helps with salt in the winter.

    • @mrbean022387
      @mrbean022387 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      KDM Mods Yeah I can't believe it has 75,000 miles either. I bought it 8 months ago from some guy in Milwaukee (my home town) but I live in Portland OR and forgot about how salt rust can really damage cars, especially Toyota trucks and SUVs. Luckily they don't use salt in the mountains around here so hopefully the frame doesn't get any worse. Toyota did a good job on the underbody coats and not having the door panels and typical other things from rusting on the body, but the quality of steel they used on the frame is terrible for salty roads.
      Besides that I love my 4Runner and everything else about it.
      Keep that underbody steel frame clean during the winter because the frame will break before anything else.

    Great generation 4Runner

  • @cameronnorton5898
    @cameronnorton5898 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The 5th gen 4runners are cool, but too heavy! Over 1000 pounds more than the 3rd gen, so in offroad all of the agility of the previous 4runners is gone. The 5th gen will get you through trails, but it does it safe and slow, not enthusiastically like other 4runners.

    • @kdmmods3931
      @kdmmods3931  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      i think the 3rd gen is alot more narrow? that would also make it a bit better for tight spots while off-roading

    Learn about the vehicle you are reviewing before you review it. You gave some really poor answers and explanations on things that you don't know about and just made something up. Not bad overall, but just do some simple homework.
