Really I missed this song,sinced I was elementary I learned this hymn song,My Aunt was our choir directress during 60's when I was in Mercyville Orphanage compound here in South Cotabato,my older sisters and brothers ,they sung this when they have their Choir tour here in Mindanao,with my Auntie as choir directress,and i really missed her.Last 2007 ,July 18 ,she was with the Lord.She was blessed at this moment really Jesus hold her hand forever resting happily in the Heaven with our Great Creator.🥰🥰🥰🙏🙏🙏

Honestly raised in the Church of Christ by my grandparents... This hymn brings back some good childhood memories & some not too cheerful when my grandma passed away. We sang this at her memorial service. Literally no dry eye was in the room. As I type this I'm wearing her favorite t-shirt she'd wear around the house. Thank you for uploading this. It is helping me through a time where I'm trying to better myself with very few friends close to help me.
I too was raised in Church of Christ. I think this is one of my favorite songs we would sing. My dad and his sisters were blessed with such amazing voices. That I would sit there half the time and listen. Members of the congregation would tell my grandparents they always would love when we would visit because such beautiful singing came from our pew. It's almost as if I can still hear my one aunt singing alto. I too am crying as I miss my grandparents. Some day I'll see them again in heaven.
This is our "Family Song" as on almost every occasion my parents and all 9 children as well as extended family members sang as if heaven were on earth! When our beloved Mama (who was a choir director par excellence) went to be with the Lord 3 years ago, our wonderful Dad, all 9 children, and grandchildren sang it before the entire congregation joined in. Awesome!

I don't believe y'all have this song. I'm Baptist as well, but I went to a Pentecostal church with my Meemaw, and we sang the heck out of this song. Well, her church didn't really sing it, but we would have some epic jam sessions where we would sing it. The only difference was that I would play it on the piano unless we were outside or in a car or something, and then we sang a capella.
King David said he encouraged himself and I believe he used music because he was a poet and musician. I do the same with singing like this and it is music with melody 🙌
It's neat to hear how songs sound when done correctly. The Baptist Church I grew up in... it was sung with more of a 1 2, 1 2, 1 2... flow if that makes sense. Obviously I'm no musician. I've always thought Baptist churches sing with more of a bounce to the music... oh well.. I doubt any of this made much sense... thx for posting!!
My grandpa loved to lead the congregation growing up and this was his favorite hymn to sing when there were enough people so when he passed away recently the whole family sang it at his funeral❤
