@@Alejojojo6 while you are right that it was never stated he’s that large logic and reasoning explains him to be. For starters dragon age is often figured determined by their size. For the smallfolk to consider him as old or older then Balerion he would need to be of a similar size (I do agree this is probably an exaggeration however). He’s a wild dragon and not contained to the Dragon Pit which was known to stunt dragons growth. Secondly, we have the fact that this creature lived on the island of the Targaryens and ate dragons. If your entire political dynasty was based off of your dragons why leave that potential wild threat alive? Presumably because fighting it would have been too costly which means that it was considered large enough for Balerion, Vhagar and Vermithor to be severely hurt in the battle against him. That isn’t a small dragon or he would have been hunted down and captured/killed. Black Dragons do tend to be larger then other dragons although that could be circumstance (Balerion’s age/ Drogon not being locked up). Thirdly, if he was born during the reign of Kong Jaehaerys he’s only a few years (2 decades at most) younger then Vermithor while also living outside and not being stunted by the Dragon Pit which can be used to safely make them about equal in size. Lastly, we have the very fact that no one was even willing to try and claim it and that other dragons fled at its very shadow (Sheepstealer runs away rather then fight it) and dragons aren’t known to run. Martin doesn’t always like to spell things out but instead makes you think about them to come to your own conclusions. But there is more then enough evidence to claim Cannibal was large and probably around the size of Vermithor. So no. It is not outright stated he is as large as Vermithor but you are clearly supposed to picture a large powerful and savage dragon on par with the larger dragons of the dance.

Aegon is an usurper. The most interesting of the tv version is that it is all product of a misunderstanding that hasn't been explained on time. Alycent should have explained it to Rhaenyra and war would have been avoided. It is strange that Alycent looked so empathetic and "perfect", but many times she is worried but some things and neglect others, very realistic. Taking care of the king and being Regent made her to neglect her children. Rhaenyra should be reigning in Kings Landing, and Aegon and Aemond would have been very happy being simple nobles, and even helping her. I would say that if you put Westeros into US terms, the North is more like Wyoming, Montana and the Dakotas, lots of land, but very few big cities, very few big settlements of people.
Harranhall is at a strategic location for garrisoning troops for quick deployment to control the Riverlands & set up blockades. The Tyrells control the area where most of the food production happens which is kind of essential. Both places are important for diff reasons logistically. Medieval society is very striated. Every High Lord of a region has vassals (houses)who in turn have lords with vassals & they don't always get along as demonstrated in the opening scenes of ep 3. There is always the danger of a coup within one of the 7 kingdoms during a war for the crown. People will also defect to the winning side as things change despite their original allegience. It's a political & logistical nightmare. Very few medieval kings ruled for long, extended periods of time & for most of their reign they were at war with someone. 😮
OK, so Queen R has most of the north. It would be honestly in her best interest to bargain with the Iron born! They are the second fierce fleet of ships at this time and absolutely wildcard and a gamble but would be a good idea. Also yeah obviously the iron born are the parallels to the Vikings
I would imagine the Lannisters fear of Dany on the Throne would stem from the brutal crimes committed by then during Roberts Rebellion. Jamie killing Aerys, Tywin sacking Kings Landing, Ser Gregor and Armory Lorch raping Elia and butchering her children. While Robert and Ned might have had genuine reasons to rebel due to the Mad Kings cruelty, Tywin committed his atrocities just to curry favour with the winning side. As for Cersei on the Throne, firstly she had no claim to it other than being a Regent for Joffrey and Tommen. Tywin distrusted her not because she was a women, but because she was an ineffectual ruler, which is evidenced in the later books when she arms the faith militant and a hundred other blunders.
How these chicks can remember all the dragon names, and their riders is epic. In addition to all the geography and political affiliations across the continent. This was a wicked knowledge drop.
I really enjoyed the panel but it felt rushed and you cut them off. I would like them to go more into details about the dragon riders and how they bonded/matched with a dragon. Thanks!
I'm guessing for "casual viewers" who may not have watched GoT. Or, rather may not have watched it a zillion times, like I have. And, yes, even the later seasons. I sill never forgive D&D for fucking the last 3 up so severely. Couple of see you next Tuesdays.
There’s a huge percentage of viewers that have never read the books. Also, this series doesn’t follow the books EXACTLY and there are scenes and events that happen that nobody can predict.
Some people didn’t really pay attention to the little side stories in the GOT tv show so they might be missing a lot of the key little moments or forgotten them entirely. I never read and mostly binged GOT so I only know them or was reminded about them in TH-cam recaps and explainer type videos 😅 but I don’t mind spoilers from the book or stuff that happens in the show that they explain further it’s still fun to see how everything plays out week by week
Could REALLY do without the gatekeeping toxicity when you tell us ad infinitum which GoT seasons (or which Star Wars films) we’re supposed to hate. Just analyze the show and assume we’re here because we are interested in the show.
I’m curious about Rheana and her egg. She told Aemond Vaghar was hers to claim but she already had an egg in crypt. Just that it didn’t hatch. For Halaena she bonded with Dreamfyre. An adult dragon born way before her. Strange how a very dreamy girl just claim a Dragon that scared Aemond when he was a kid, curious over if Halaena had a dragon egg in her crypt or not or was it only one egg and it was sunfyre so aegon took the claim coz they were twins (are they twins?). Also why didn’t Aemond had a dragon egg in his crypt when he was a baby? And was sunfyre from the dragon egg in aegon crypt when he was a baby? Seems too fast to grow and seems the same size as Syrax whos much older. can anyone explain to me pls?

Not just by conquest. His claim was recognized due to the Targaryen lineage he shared with Aerys II. His grandmother was on of Aegon V’s daughters, Rhaelle.
The point is that the Targaryen's convinced everyone that their blood was superior and that's why they could control dragons. So Robert needed a link to prove he was "fit" to sit the throne. The same way Caesar said he was descended from Aeneas and ultimately Venus. The same way the Bible makes a big deal out of Jesus' lineage from David and Abraham. We could do this all day.

May haps even an episode on the Battle of the Trident
So lore and cannon does matter. Isn't it more fun when we all have a common understanding?
Lann The Clever lived thousands of years before Aegon's conquest. Are we sure they are experts?
Bro Daryn is so pretty and so smart! Fantastic segment, I'd love to see more of both panelists.
Thank you for the explaining the lore!
Petition for more Daryn content asap!!
How these chicks can remember all the dragon names, and their riders is epic. In addition to all the geography and political affiliations across the continent. This was a wicked knowledge drop.
Lannisters have gold but Velaryon are literally the wealthiest house in the realm at this time!
I really enjoyed the panel but it felt rushed and you cut them off. I would like them to go more into details about the dragon riders and how they bonded/matched with a dragon. Thanks!
Not sure why there is a hesitation with spoilers. Could be wrong, but hasn't the ending already been revealed in Game of Thrones?
Yeah Joffrey spoiled the ending
I'm guessing for "casual viewers" who may not have watched GoT. Or, rather may not have watched it a zillion times, like I have. And, yes, even the later seasons. I sill never forgive D&D for fucking the last 3 up so severely. Couple of see you next Tuesdays.
@@diegopinales86🗿
Olenna Tyrell isn‘t even a Tyrell… she‘s a Redwyne by birth! 🤦🏻
Who cares?
Could REALLY do without the gatekeeping toxicity when you tell us ad infinitum which GoT seasons (or which Star Wars films) we’re supposed to hate.
Just analyze the show and assume we’re here because we are interested in the show.
You do need an abacus to keep up with all the characters and regions they live in
Storms end is the "Australia in Risk" of Westeros
Why would they send Ravens across the wall to Hardhome. Why would 2ildlings help the Starks or anyone?
Man, I need to buy the books cause ya'll know details all the way down to the character' personality 😅
27:09 what do you mean no spoilers they already named Dalton Greyjoy as the next possible Master of Ships
The only guy this war I'm really interested to see is Cregan Stark and his Greybeards.
That armor of valerian steel will be a double edge sword in the flames at rooks rest
What about the blockade by the by Velaryons? How is that affecting the Greens ie trade and resource?
Hardhome? Didn’t know the starks at this point kept in contact with all the people from beyond the wall. Also didn’t know lann the clever lived past the age of hero’s into the time of aegons conquest
Did she say that hardhome was part of the north when talking about how long it would take to send ravens everywhere?
Not the size of the army but how you maneuver it 😅
That's what she said.
(She lied.)
Can we please not forget that Bella her dragon is born in pintos and she means it morning also look at the description it’s amazing
Justice for dreamfyre
Big fan of these ladies. Y’all are killing it with the lore, I’m so impressed!!
I think that the Tyrell’s were neutral during the civil war.
I thought that was the Blackfyre rebellion, but I may be wrong. It's been a while since I read Dunk and Egg
They failed to show who is with which side? Like I have seen 3 episodes back 2 back I haven't understood that much what's going on
So is Vaghar the largest dragon? Or is it Vermithor or Cannibal?
Vaghar is the oldest and largest at the start of house of the dragon
Vhagar, Vermithor is second biggest.
Can you get into The Maester Conspiracy? That the Maesters wanted the Dragons gone to make magic disappear
So the king died only a few weeks ago but the hightowers and their Army have been marching for at least 3 months?
Did she seriously say ravens to Hardhomme? No wildlings fighting for “southerners” yet I’m afraid.
She meant harrenhall
I misspoke on a couple things in this vid that I am now facepalming about 🤦🏾♀️ We recorded early in the morning and I am a mere mortal but thanks for catching that 😊
@@darynrobinson8926 no worries. I thought it was funny. Wildlings should’ve been incorporated a long time ago anyway.
Rhaenyra going to kings landing was just silly.
She had to get closure, and she got it it’s officially war time
Corlys is the richest man in westeros during this period, thanks to all his navy adventures
I like this channel. But between you and Emergency Awesome, ai dont know who makes up more stuff out of speculation.
The Tyrells stay out of every war!
Lann the clever founded house lannister. Loren lannister was the commander king in the field of fire.
PS. Brianna is bae ❤
Brianna is dope
I am LOVING this panel of passionate, knowledgeable women talking about a genre that is so heavily dominated by men. It's perfect for HOTD
Ugh
Me too! These contributors are a breath of fresh air on this channel
@@lukewright5258shut it, Luke
Rhaenyras mother was also an Arryn!
VAGAR is the oldest and specifically is from the old world
That's incorrect about Robert Baratheon. He happened to be related to them but he won the throne by conquest, he made sure people knew this.
7:28 and why Lannistors not supporting Denaeres counts as sexism.
They were fighting against invasion, after all jammie didn't get called kingslayer just for anything
These nerds in the comments are hilarious. So she got one name wrong, WOW! You obviously know who she meant, so why keep whining. LOL.
Lan the Clever wasn’t at the Field of Fire
Stark soldiers are most Loyal
Baratheon soldiers are most ruthless
Lannister forces are best equipped
Tully’s have the most men
Targaryen soldiers are backed by dragons
Tyrell soldiers have flowers on their armor
Now let the dance begin!
Shouldn’t all armies from the North collect at White Harbor & sail south?
The line of succession is all about family and tradition, not race or sex. Stop trying to use stereotypes as the reason for everything. Smh. It so sad.
Ryan you’ve become my go to for anything our generation. Love the channel and content. Being a geek is cool again.
