Spoilers I thought that at first too, but considering the series probably takes place within a few months, the likely outcome would be once the ants break free onto Japan, he just dies. It's kinda shown throughout the series, but since gates are a time limited thing, he'd be missing out on unique skills, summons and or gear that were extremely useful to him than just flat base stat increases. The leveling system was made in a specific way for him to get as strong as possible as quickly as possible as well, meaning grinding out dungeons is better than doing dailies a day and calling it. Especially because at the end if he fought the dragon god with no weapons, summons or any skills he'd just get bodied.

You know what you're doing, but I'll fall for the bait for the algo. It may use many isekai tropes, which are just power fantasy tropes that were co-opted by the isekai genre. Isekai however specifically requirez traversal to another world which you could guess or theorize dungeons are, but so far we have no actual evidence otherwise. In the anime.
Also, as someone who's read the Manhua, most of your questions or concerns will be answered except I think some of the exploitation possibilities near the end.
In some isekai movement between the worlds is free and natural. In some isekai its just a shorthand for a game UI on top of a fantasy setting. Requiring a wall between this world and the Different world is not required. Sometimes the Different world is merely a Time Period.

Just imagine my anger, just when i finished the manga the anime was announced 😅. Jeju island will probably be in early s3. There still need of build up and world building.
I mean, a B rank did biff a C rank, so it could be seen as a duo. The crazy B rank official can argue it was a double dungeon or that one of the prisoners purposely ranked themselves lower since it is something possibly in the verse.
You hit all these on the head pretty well. I really thought the first part was pretty interesting but it became so edgy later. The main character became impossible to root for. Great vid as always
Thank you! I just like it for what it is. We all know he is going to win, just like every other MC, the difference is that Solo Leveling is aware of that
"interesting but turned edgy." Honestly couldn't have said it better lol. I thought the world building and everything was interesting too, but with how the story took shape and the development of the MC happened, it just became a typical cliche power fantasy and I personally got really bored really quickly. .The thing about their power, not increasing is talking about the magical energy that they all get when they awaken. The measurement machines don't measure a level of strength. They measure the amount of magical energy in the person's body when they awaken.Aside from a second awakening that cannot change. Yes, they can increase their physical strength through training or increase their general strength through gear and buffs. That's not what the rule is referring to.
yo, great video, do u recommend me jump into the manga once i’ve finished the anime to continue the story or should i wait to season 2? cause i really like how the fights are animated in the series , are also great in the manga ?
Doesn’t pretend like something it’s not, is definitely why I like solo Leveling. It’s a simple fun action fantasy, nothing more and doesn’t try to be anything more. If you just watch it, expecting a fun fantasy action show, you’ll have a good time! I think the problem is when people expect more from it, then they get disappointed when nothing else comes. But it’s enjoyable if you don’t try and look for loads of depth and just enjoy it for what it is. For me Jinwoo’s character change makes sense, trauma but also something else to do with his power origin that has not been revealed yet. Spoiler for whoever wants to read down below . I do honestly believe that Jinwoo acquired some of Ashborns personality, while the NL doesn’t strictly say this but we do know that Jinwoo’s personality can slowly affect his own shadows mentality. So Ashborns, slowly giving his power to Jinwoo and essentially merging with Jinwoo would affect Jinwoo’s personality. They do say “I am you” something similar near the end Because Ashborn is a superior being, it makes sense to me that parts of his personality would leak into Jinwoo, making Jinwoo colder and less empathetic.
Will .. as someone who read the LN, what I got is that the MC/ author are very narcissist and self-centered. It's a trend in many LNs but this one got me to the point of being very disgusted and I had to stop.. So many plot holes and script armor. Half the story about the MC being edgy, and the other half about people around him can't live without him and talking about him. Manga was better. They edited a bit and filtered a bit. Still..I think it is very overrated because of some hype moments. And Lets be honest, What carried the manga at first was the new at the time art style. Anime, generic random anime of the season.
I am somewhat amused that the MC is that way, when its normally a problem. Probably still is a problem. But then so many other MCs are angelic and self-sacrificing to a fault. "Finally, a jerk! Just like in real life!"
HAHA, okay level with me here, have you read the LN or web? Some of the stuff you are "guessing" at later on is so spot on it's funny if it really is a guess xD
I'm an anime only. What you said puts a smile on my face, thank you. I wonder what you would have said if you were in Discord when I was live reacting, cause I would pause, say something and it will happen immediately.
Its an isekai not because he nearly died and his world changed but because enemies from abother world are coming through portals. Isrksi does not necessitate reincarnation just "another world" (thats what isekai means btw)
Decent video but considering Kang's rank and affiliation with the hunter organization it is believable that he could get away with everything and his story doesn't even too crazy. We can't really even say it is negligence since Kang could just explain the boss was powerful. As for Jin Woo completely changing I would disagree we your interpretation. We see Jin Woo still has the same goals and was shown to be quick on his feet when it comes to thinking. His colder side seems to be a product of the system as explained when he tries to drink his worries away and can't get drunk
I can see that with Kang, but remember the father. Even if the gov wouldn't have noticed anything before, they would have had to investigate after that kind of claim and something would have came up. I thought of that, cause in a way, he reminds me of Ainz-sama, but we don't have the emotional suppression here, so it's a bit of a sharp change of character for me. Not saying it's impossible or it's not would should happen, it's the speed. If it was a bit more gradual, over 2-3 episodes maybe, i'd have had no complaints
@@mahistv Hmm yeah but when you think about it in terms of time you get in a grey area. For example stuff like movies. Peter going from a nerd to fighting in cage fights happen pretty fast. Iron Man changing from a selfish billionaire to a guy that cares sbout weapons happens all in the beginning of the movie I think what matters is the instrument for change and how drastic or serious that situation is for that character. For Jin Woo, we have three things that influence his change. The first being left alone while saving everyone in the double dungeon. The second, the system influencing his change. The third, him actually getting stronger as shown by him beating the snake and monsters. But good video even though I disagree with some parts!
From what I know, the system is "fake". For example, no matter how good he was in the quest to upgrade/get a class, I believe he would always have got the same class no matter the result. So there isn't a lot to exploit in the system (besides a few minor things which won't really matter in the end).
juju is such a small part of this series.. sure it might be the focus of season 2, and i mean season 2 but that wont happen till 2026/2027 not the part 2 we are getting in 2025.
@@mahistv yes but S rank gates are super uncommon. but most other major nations have both more s rank hunters as well as National lvl Hunters ( people who can take high A and even S rank gates alone).

I'm glad you highlighted various aspects of the show that showcase how it's world building is note worthy as those aspects i didn't really notice before. Altogether, it's a good power fantasy anime but not great.
Most isekai are modeled after dungeon crawlers, so dungeon crawling elements can't intercept the isekai label. The 'i' in isekai means another, different, or strange world. Fundamentally, but the measurements of the label, its correct.
@@mahistv similarities ok sure but its a fundamentally diferent genera just because some isekai have dungeons and {most} have an rpg like leveling system dosnt mean they are the same genera
It makes sense that his change was so rapid. All of his base stats were increasing every time he leveled up in addition to the points that he could accrue himself. So he was actually getting smarter with every level.
People say its not isekai, and they want to be adamant about that, but take this spin: What if he died and he's now on the other side of his world invading and he got those OP powers still. "Oh its obviously an isekai!" Because the world he respawns into was ours it suddenly loses everything else? Nah, its isekai.
@@mahistv I get the same feeling when people describe Metal music. Each band seems to have its own unique genre. When people describe Solo Leveling as "system" I get that feeling. We have a genre it goes in already. It's like they're afraid of it just being an okay isekai.
these new age shows really gotta stop splitting their season into parts. if they arent ready to tell a whole seasons worth of content ( especially with how long this will go on) then delay the show. until you can have a season worth (25-30 episodes) of content to give to the fans. this is beyond lazy, the have the money and the investment already. if they are gonna keep up this parts bs we wont get very far in the series and they will lose both fans and money due to it. just look at Tog as an example....
@@mahistv but they did cut corners and have added in content where it wasnt needed. example the opening scene w 1/3 failed raid on Juju Island. btw japan has failed to concur that gate 3 times, they also have less s rank hunters (also weaker s rank) than other major nations. as well being nation w no NLH (national Lvl Hunter)
Look... this anime has some nice fighting and good animation. But the characters personalities are as deep as a saucer, and the plot is just so obvious that it takes away any investment on the story. The villains are just plain dumb, and any other character other than the protagonist seens like a total disaster on trying to manage any kind of fight. So... Good video enjoyed your thoughts about the future of the anime i read the manwha so i know but no spoilers
Thank you, it'd be interesting to see what I got right/wrong, even though I didn't predict as much
This is more of a reverse issekai. I wont go into manga spoilers but the world was brought to him.
I was mostly making fun of it)
You know what you're doing, but I'll fall for the bait for the algo.
I'm just messing around calling it an isekai, cause it does have some general similarities.
@@mahistv I kinda figured, it was either just a joke or genuinely poking fun for the sake of baiting a comment like mine, either way I like to comment on stuff so the algorithm gods know I like em xD
Thanks for the video!
If you're super curious about system and all of that i suggest to read the manwha, as i don't think we'll get there in the next season.
Interesting, from what I gathered, there should be about 48 episodes total, so maybe we will see it later?
@@mahistv i dont want to spoil it to you like my friend did it for me. I know certain things but not the exact order.
Just imagine my anger, just when i finished the manga the anime was announced 😅. Jeju island will probably be in early s3. There still need of build up and world building.
Precisely, we need more build up to it
I mean, a B rank did biff a C rank, so it could be seen as a duo.
I was bored after the first episode, but I gave it a chance because my older brother and sister loved it, but I just couldn't enjoy it.
Jeju Island is just the first half of the show and s2 is not gonna be it bc s2 will be hell tower arc
(I hope with the morachs Arc they're gonna have aot way of showing how scary it was)
I hope we get some attack on titan vibes in here!
mahis relax and keep watching you'll see everything you want
It's not Black Clover, so I'm relaxed and I will watch it)
woow it is always amazing to hear a bit of defferent point of veiw to the same programme IT IS TRULLY ENJOYABLE THANK YOU yet I didn't watch the anime but the hole manga and I don't remembre it being boring like it seems to be here .. I will reread it and then watch the anime
Thank you. I wouldn't call it boring though)
I started reading that back then and i thought owh this is pretty good. Then i have a sliver of a doubt that says, its power fantasy good, not the masterpiece good, but got swept up by other people opinion that is a masterpiece. just realized how its just fine around chapter 100 where the troupe is MC is the "strongest"
Well, I wouldn't call it a masterpiece yet, but it's pretty enjoyable
@@mahistv yeah i think its pretty enjoyable too but it wont be a masterpiece until the end
to the last point with the interface... i get what you want to say but due to me having thousands of hours in vr... i can use my interface for quiet alot without anyone noticing and yes i have eyetracking so people see what im actually looking at...
The system is actually fucking with his head, which is why his change is a bit ofd
.The thing about their power, not increasing is talking about the magical energy that they all get when they awaken. The measurement machines don't measure a level of strength. They measure the amount of magical energy in the person's body when they awaken.Aside from a second awakening that cannot change. Yes, they can increase their physical strength through training or increase their general strength through gear and buffs.
That's not what the rule is referring to.
ahh the architect wont happen till the end of the show and that wont be till 2030 at the earliest
So I was kinda right
@@mahistv yeah but that will be season 5 or 6 if i did my math right for content coverage. thsi show should end on at least 8 seasons.
yo, great video, do u recommend me jump into the manga once i’ve finished the anime to continue the story or should i wait to season 2? cause i really like how the fights are animated in the series , are also great in the manga ?
The manga is finished already, or that's what I think, and if you like it, definitely go read. Otherwise it will take years for this thing to come out
@@mahistv yeah, y’ve read it to chapter 110 in this 3 days and it’s awesome, so u think that chapter 200 is the end ?
Hello mahis, will you please make a video about viral hit manhwa. Its a manhwa I enjoyed soooooo much and would love to hear your opinion
Hello, I haven't been reading much lately, so I don't think I will yet. Thank you for the suggestion though
imagine if he reviewed Attack on Titan....That would make my day
Coming, but I just don't know when)

Dude!
They do say “I am you” something similar near the end
Because Ashborn is a superior being, it makes sense to me that parts of his personality would leak into Jinwoo, making Jinwoo colder and less empathetic.
Will .. as someone who read the LN, what I got is that the MC/ author are very narcissist and self-centered.
I think that's the whole point and the fact that the show doesn't try to hide it, makes it stand out in a good way.
One sentence in this video I thought was very funny in insight.
I'm curious what it is, but I think there are some spoilers in it)
@@mahistv that’s correct
Wait its your birthday? I saw from one of the comments hey man happy late birthday day to you sorry for the late greeting
Thank you, it was a week ago and definitely no need to apologize!
Its an isekai not because he nearly died and his world changed but because enemies from abother world are coming through portals. Isrksi does not necessitate reincarnation just "another world" (thats what isekai means btw)
i think most if not all the jeju island stuff at the moment is anime original
Will you make a vdeo on viral hit?
Sorry, I'm not even sure what it is
Decent video but considering Kang's rank and affiliation with the hunter organization it is believable that he could get away with everything and his story doesn't even too crazy.
Iron Man changing from a selfish billionaire to a guy that cares sbout weapons happens all in the beginning of the movie
I think what matters is the instrument for change and how drastic or serious that situation is for that character. For Jin Woo, we have three things that influence his change. The first being left alone while saving everyone in the double dungeon. The second, the system influencing his change. The third, him actually getting stronger as shown by him beating the snake and monsters.
But good video even though I disagree with some parts!
Good video.
Thank you, Glad you liked it
From what I know, the system is "fake".
We shall see, I'm also interested in how other countries handle their gates. Surely there are Jeju Island equivalents
@@mahistv yes but S rank gates are super uncommon. but most other major nations have both more s rank hunters as well as National lvl Hunters ( people who can take high A and even S rank gates alone).
It was an okay anime but i can see it being a lot better on a manwa than animated since pacing is an issue here which would not have been the same when read. I'm glad you highlighted various aspects of the show that showcase how it's world building is note worthy as those aspects i didn't really notice before.
Altogether, it's a good power fantasy anime but not great.
no its not an isekai
its a dungeon crawler its a popular genre of manhwa "korean comics"
calling it an isekai is fundamentaly wrong
Most isekai are modeled after dungeon crawlers, so dungeon crawling elements can't intercept the isekai label. The 'i' in isekai means another, different, or strange world. Fundamentally, but the measurements of the label, its correct.
Dude, I'm pulling your leg, but it has some similarities with most Isekai
@@mahistv similarities ok sure but its a fundamentally diferent genera
just because some isekai have dungeons and {most} have an rpg like leveling system dosnt mean they are the same genera
It makes sense that his change was so rapid. All of his base stats were increasing every time he leveled up in addition to the points that he could accrue himself. So he was actually getting smarter with every level.
My bad NGL I thought it was going to be about to be a glazing sessions, I disliked preemptively
Well, I'm glad you ended up liking the video
People say its not isekai, and they want to be adamant about that, but take this spin: What if he died and he's now on the other side of his world invading and he got those OP powers still. "Oh its obviously an isekai!" Because the world he respawns into was ours it suddenly loses everything else? Nah, its isekai.
I'm having fun with calling it an isekai, but it does have a lot of tropes like being weak, sacrificing himself and being reborn
@@mahistv I get the same feeling when people describe Metal music. Each band seems to have its own unique genre. When people describe Solo Leveling as "system" I get that feeling. We have a genre it goes in already. It's like they're afraid of it just being an okay isekai.
I already read the manwha, it was good but I never thought about it after I finished it. It was cool and edgy, not exactly a thinker.
Ain't nothing wrong with that. Sometimes that's what you need
Have you watched Attack on Titan yet?
Not fully, just 2 seasons. Planning on binging it soon, just need to get a few videos out of the way first
Oh my goodness, it is very clear that you have not read the novel or the manga
these new age shows really gotta stop splitting their season into parts. if they arent ready to tell a whole seasons worth of content ( especially with how long this will go on) then delay the show. until you can have a season worth (25-30 episodes) of content to give to the fans.
this is beyond lazy, the have the money and the investment already. if they are gonna keep up this parts bs we wont get very far in the series and they will lose both fans and money due to it. just look at Tog as an example....
It is what it is. At least they do a good job looking decent and not cutting corners
@@mahistv but they did cut corners and have added in content where it wasnt needed. example the opening scene w 1/3 failed raid on Juju Island. btw japan has failed to concur that gate 3 times, they also have less s rank hunters (also weaker s rank) than other major nations. as well being nation w no NLH (national Lvl Hunter)
at last
Finally!
Look... this anime has some nice fighting and good animation. But the characters personalities are as deep as a saucer, and the plot is just so obvious that it takes away any investment on the story. The villains are just plain dumb, and any other character other than the protagonist seens like a total disaster on trying to manage any kind of fight. So... Yeah... lots of people I know where talking about it and high on the hype train. Me? I just found it very boring. Only to watch if nothing else is on the menu.
That's the reason I said "Can't say more about the cast yet". I need to see more of that, or at least I want to
@@mahistv Look, watch it. I watched all season 1. Did I disliked it. Yes, but at least I found the fight scenes somewhat nice on the animation. But it's like fast food. May taste nice, but will make your trip to the toilet somewhat a bad one
Bro doesnt know what's comming up
I really don't)
It's an interesting concept. With that being said, the execution is very mid
