Stunning scenery, honest; real-world bike reviews, top-quality running comentary from Statham, and cuddly rocks. I need nothing more from TH-cam. Cracking content as always chaps! X
Mad respect for the GPS link 🙏 Too often I see an amazing location or road in a vid that I want to put on my midlife crisis list but have no way of finding it.
Oh my god!!!! How could your guide not tell you to turn right on the 13:51min!!! Unforgivable!!! You would have seen another amazing place, known as Poço do Inferno, a natural waterfall. But excellent video and narrative. Keep up. Cheers
Excellent as always, Portugal is now on my list, think I’ll leave the off-roading you though, too much hard work, will defo be checking out their tarmac though.
Thanks for letting everyone know 😂.. I’ve been enjoying Portugal with its beautiful people, scenery, food and roads for over 20 years now. Enjoy the rides there, they are spectacular!
Just picked up a 2017 r1200gs Adventure, it's a tank compared to my super duke but for riding with my wife in the Colorado Rockies it fits the bill fantastically. Adventures in Portugal look amazing. Thanks for the video, ride safe!
Great video. What happened with GS 1300 launch coverage though, there wasnt much on 44teeth aside from very restrained review by Baron a few months ago?
Haven't seen the video, but you get a like for going to Serra da Estela, where my hometown is! 💪 Btw, the presentation video for the new Husqvarna Svartpilen 801 was shot there, if you're wondering where they got the mountain shots.
Really needed a africa twin in there as so many are on the road. Excellent video as always and I'm now definitely considering some bridgestone to replace Mt ta3s
as an R1300GS owner i recognize the throttle fenomenon. Adjusting the gear shifter (and thus the Quick Shifter) does miracles. It then is as it should be!!
Nige, I live 20 mins from Serra da Estrella, it is wonderful but the roads around the area are amazing too... Next time you are arriving give me a shout 😎
As Portuguese I appreciate the very positive comments on the scenery and roads and all but we have much better roads for touring our N222,N321, N104 and our route of the north normal riding of approximately 700km in a course of 3 days and last but not least our very unique N2 from way up north from city Chaves to the Algarve down south across the whole country, keep up the good work and we would love to have you back for a longer period of time to enjoy the wine food and bike riding
Great scenery and area - must put it on the list of all the places I want to ride - it's a long list with family beach holidays taking priority on time and budget. Got AX41s on my Tiger 1200 - I'm impressed so far with the little bit of greenlaning I've done but also they were very good for a trip round north Wales all tarmac. Most of the time I forgot I was on a 50/50 tyre, though it was unusually dry for Wales.
I love collecting gpx files for places i'll likely never visit, cheers You never know! Sorry to hear about your helmet getting nicked. Looked like a great place. Good meats in Portugal, right?
Looking for my first adventure bike. I'm considering a low milage F650 GS right now. Really just want something inexpensive with a low seat height. Are there any bikes that I should cross shop with the BMW GS?
I’ve tried every premium manufacturer of tyres on bikes over the years but I always come back to Bridgestone. Them seem to me at least to always give the best of everything imho 👍🏻
PLS share the link to GPS again, the file you posted expired! Hi 44th, thanks for most funny motorbike videos, with Boothey you are great trio, and your BBBshows you put is amazing, true TopGear specials style! Still laughing from BBBBratislava :)
Rode the GS1300, engine was good and definitely an improvement gearbox wise but absolutely hated the handling. 1250 was better but that's just my opinion. In the end I bought an S1000R Gen 2 and put a full Akra on with a flash and decided Adventure boredom wasn't for me 😂
Loved the video wish you guys would ride a bike 90 percent of the people can afford. That vstrom was begging to be taken out. Although I know its an event and you are a guest. Anyway great video maybe I will start using Bridgestone instead of dunlop and switch it up.
@@stephenmcqueen4029 I understand your frustration, but with new BMWs, KTMs, MVs, Ducatis, you want to ride those instead of the usual run of the mill Suzukis and Tenerees if you are limited on how many bikes you can run. If I was there, I would rather ride the bikes Al rode too.
Sorry to hear about the loss of your helmet Al. 2 Saturdays ago My 1290 Superduke was nicked outside a chip shop in Brighton, 5 minutes ! Plod can't even be bothered to look at their own cameras and my insurance are wriggling on my fully comp. claim. Happy days. Holy Moly those roads are sketchy, concentrates the mind though, you're not going to nod off. The mountain track remind me of Wales but without 2 feet of mud
tieres in this place / country is without leaking lorries diesel (or oil) ...so it could be true wet-speed close to dry condition speed ...all the numbers were km/h not mph , right ? 😉 a racing helmet fits to you
Interesting you say that Al. I bought a 1300 after 4 years on a 1250. It felt like I needed to re learn how to ride a bike. I hated it. After 3 months on it I can safely say I love it. But if I had to chose again I would go back to the 1250.😅😢
When we don´t like a certain bike, we always find the issues on it to justify. Calling the GS big, heavy and cumbersome..?? well, is not small and light, that´s for sure, but is in the same ball park as the other maxi trail, like your precious Multistrada.. but I didn't hear you say about the Ducati. In fact, I tried all of them, GS, 1290, Triumph and multistrada, and definitely, the one it´s eaiser to drive, due the low center of gravity, is definitely the GS. Anyway.. Lucky we have so many bikes to choose from, and we have different tastes, but I tend to give more credibility to those who present valid arguments and/or based on personal taste.. and that´s fair, and not say that a motorcycle is what it is not, associating negative characteristics, when all others also have them. Full disclosure, I do prefer GS, as an overall package, but I love the Multistrada, just the engine in the middle and high revs, it's not for me. The Triumph is weird, it's not goos at anything, and the KTM has a great engine after the 5000rpm, but everything else is not matching the boxes for a daily bike.
6:51 I could tell the same thing after Norden 901 testing.... Only thing you can see there is your shoulders.... First thing that would go off this bike after order...
Thanks for the video guys, but pleeeease work on your line. You are cutting corners way too confident, especially on small mountain roads like this. We all only got one life, stay safe!
As a Portuguese, I am very happy to hear that you enjoyed your time there!
he'd enjoy it just a little more if you can find that stolen helmet though so keep a lookout!

Went to Portugal last year touring with the boys. Was absolutely fantastic. Some of the best roads I have ever been on. Will defo be going back. 👍🏻
Went there on my Africa Twin last year. Amazing, and that was just the cheese we bought at the top of the mountain!
Awesome stuff Nige! Amazing cinematography

Just woke up to this. Nice coffee with cream in hand and the TV to myself. Happy place. Nice one Al
Great review and thumbs up for the GPS links.
It'd be great if you could please put the GPS link up again, it has expired. Thanks.

The new GS, big, heavy and awkward? When I test road one I felt the complete opposite, small (compared to the 1250) light and nimble.
Legend Al, will be taking a trip to Portugal some time soon. Always wanted to see the routes, tar very much :)
Great vid Nige. Glad you liked my country.
Awesome you guys came to my region. You'd be suprise the amounts of fantastic roads almost void of cars

What’s ’not ideal’ about a full face helmet compared to an ‘off road/adv’ helmet? Other than the sun visor aren’t they basically the same thing?
