I've played this game when I was young but this is the first time I'm seeing the true competitive side of it (even against a cpu) it's truly fascinating and awesome to see! I cant help but feel so enamoured by the way you counter every attack, and the fact you've memorised all the counter patterns. It's so impressive to me

I was called here by Puzzle Kombat found in Mortal Kombat Deception for the PlayStation 2 & Mortal Kombat Unchained for the PSP. I have this game on the PSP as part of Capcom Puzzle World (which is a ture port according to Retro Core), and the HD Remix version on the Xbox 360 (which is backwards compatible to the Xbox One).

If a game like this was made these days, I think there would be an outrage. The gameplay might be good, but this is basically the only time we got an outright Street Fighter x Darkstalkers and it's not a serious fighting game. So sad.
There is also a native pc version if you don't want to get your hands dirty with emulators. I have that version too but it's inferior to the arcade one, sadly. Sorry for the extremely late reply, I can't use the new TH-cam on my computer.

If some of you really like this game and want to get into VS. Puzzlers I can recommend PuyoPuyo games and this game Puzzle Fighter on fightcade ( www.fightcade.com ), they're both really good as games and in terms of community... Puzzle FIghters' community on fightcade is *hardcore* though.
Well, there is a reason for him to be the final boss, he is meant to be hard to defeat, his drop pattern doesn't leave much room for gem creation, but you should try to learn its bottom row. Also sorry for the extremely late reply, I had a couple of bad days

Sonic was as big as Mario in the 90's, and the Mega-Drive/Genesis already had Columns, a pretty good match 3 game that came bundled with many compilation cartridges (typically, with the purchase of the console itself). "Why would I buy another game like this? I have Columns already!" - that would be a legit thing to say in the 90's. Games were extremely expensive back then, and piracy was not a big thing with cartridges. Kids would typically have between 10 and 20 games. You just didn't get 2 puzzle games back then, unless someone slapped Sonic on it. EDIT: Oh, and this blows Columns out of the water, and is 100% a worthy game to get. I'm glad I didn't miss it. So there you go!

Yes! Since the drop pattern of your opponent is known, you can set up the appropriate colors in the appropriate columns in advance
