i gotta admit i love how she sorta just grabs some pokémon in her animations here, just imagine how funny it would be if that’s how pokémon worked, like if some just sorta went with it, it would be a hell of a game, that’s for sure.

I didnt even make it to the third gym fight. TPK thanks to a wild Darumaka I would have needed for Burgh because my starter got taken out by a crit happy lillipup
@@CryoJnik Yikes. I've yet to do a Nuzlocke myself, tbh. I kinda want to though, even with the risk involved. As a Pokemon fan, it'd feel...wrong for me to go my whole life without doing a Nuzlocke run.

much like you guys i was a bit hesitant on doing Nuzlockes, but this video inspired me to give one a try
*Edit:* Took a lot longer than i was expecting because i put the game down for a while when SwSh came out, but i just beat my first Nuzlocke. My final team was as follows (Omega Ruby BTW):
Flare - Blaziken
Slipstream - Swellow
Atrosita - Gyarados (Died at the hands of a Dragon Rush from Drake's Salamance)
Murmur - Exploud (Died at the hands of an Iron Tail from Steven's Aggron so i could heal Flare's Toxic and get Aggron out of Sturdy range)
Nibbles - Mightyena (Died at the hands of X-Scissor from Steven's Armaldo)
WEEDGOD!!!!! - (Died at the hands of Zen Headbutt from Metagross setting up Sunny Day for Flare, managed to get a few hits in before he went down though)
And yes, i'm well aware that my surviving team one to one mirrors Jaiden's

I'd done one in Sapphire before, years ago, but my OCD made it torture to lose anyone. This managed to convince me to give it another try, so I booted up Ruby (I picked Ruby over Sapphire mainly for Dusclops over Banette). It ended up being too easy though, because I went paranoid with the grinding. Seriously, my whole team was level 60 by the time I attempted the league, so I kind screwed myself out of the full experience, but at least now I'll probably be more willing to do one in the future, so that's nice.
I did have some pretty interesting situations though. Like a lousy Baltoy blowing up in my Combusken's weirdly phallic face and leaving him with 3 HP, or that bastard of a father Norman almost killing my Breloom like he did Jaiden's (which was one the main contributors to my paranoia), or, on a more positive note, the time I caught a shiny Zigzagoon, my 5th ever legit shiny pokemon, while I was grinding up my Electrike (silver lining)
So anyway, my final team was

Jupiter the Manetric
Dusty the Flygon
SlushPuppy (aka Slushie) the Walrein
Stein the Dusclops
with Streak and and her adopted shiny baby sister Bloodlines the Zigzagoons being our cheerleaders.

Fun fact the reason its called a nuzlock is because the guy who made it called his nuzleaf that and he got attached to it and it soon got KOed and thus began the challenge.
correction: it wasn't a nickname. it was because at one point he said everything is happening for a reason, while having the face of John Locke from Lost, since thats what he also said

@@silverstone9836 Similar thing happens in, i think, gen 5-7 where a Geodude pops up and you have to think about how likely it is to have sturdy and selfdestruct.

HOLY CRAP!!! That team shown at Winona's gym was Team Four Stars Nuzlocke team. They were wiped out and they ended up having to fake it. They came out and admitted to faking the win but they had to lose their Nuzlocke champion belt. Sooooo.... yeah if you ever want to watch their Nuzlocke runs start with their red run. They are going from gen 1 to present with a few jumps like for example when sun and moon came out instead of gen 4 they did sun and moon and now they are doing sword and shield.
I think they started with leaf green, not fire red.

I usually like to joke that Nuzlockes are really Pokemon: Fire Emblem edition.

BerserkerCiaran My first time playing Fire Emblem: Awakening, I decided to do a Classic Mode playthrough and refuse to restart unless I was forced to. (Robin or Chrom dies)
There were some heavy losses early on, but a point eventually came where the survivors were powerful enough that it seemed like nothing could truly pose an actual threat.
I need to play again on casual mode just so I can get to know the majority of the characters. Well over half of the playable characters either died quickly, or were never born in the first place.
What i loved the most about the vid is a reference to TeamFourStars Failed (timeline) Nuzlocke of the same game

Pokemon X and Y are probably the best games for a first time Nuzlocke challenge. If you feel interested in taking the challenge this is probably the best way to start.

@Moon Blaze You know the reason he survived that was because of the Marill she killed to grind it. She said she killed about 80 Marill. Marill give 2 hpevs per kill adding up to 160 hpevs. Magnaton gets more out of hpevs because it has high physical def but low base hp. Adding it all together those hpevs gave about 10 extra max hp hence why he survived

Nuzlockes are scary as hell. I've done a couple and am fairly confident but I will flat out refuse to do gen 5, so many crits 😖
In my experience, it is nigh impossible to make it through the elite four during a nuzlocke without losing at least 3 pokemon in the process

During the first games (Red and Blue) I had a two-pokemon team of a psychic Butterfree and a Gengar. I grinded both to level 100 well before the last couple gyms and Elite 4, then just kinda rolled everything that came at me in game. I remember making that team because ghost types were only weak to psychic, and the most surefire way to down psychic was with another psychic, so I'm pretty sure I used Gengar for just about everything except psychic, which is when I'd break out my Butterfree just to play it safe. It happened so long ago I don't remember specifics, but I remember the Butterfree and a Ghost type.

I’d love to see a Nuzlocke run from either of you on the channel. If you’re really nervous about it, then I suggest starting off with Pokémon X/Y, which is the easiest game in the franchise (EXP Share makes it an absolute joke).

i stopped playing pokemon games AFTER Ruby, and getting a Zigzagoon at the start of my game was awesome, i took it all the way to the end game because A. it was the perfect HM slave, and B. it was able to find rare candies

fun fact with exception of the elite 4 pokemon ruby is the only pokemon game i've completed the storyline side of things when I got groudon... however for years since I was a kid holding a gameboy colour I've played pokemon gold and never actually finished it, I kept having to make new saves cause files either corrupted or I just got fed up cause I dided after playing hrs and forgetting to save, thankfully to play classics there emulators now which have a quicksave feature! but I am building up my pokemon
I have a nasty habit of overgrinding and making my pokemon way too high level for the next badge so I end up overpowering and demolishing the gym leaders!

In Gold/Silver theres a Trade Machamp right next to Whitney's Gym. Miltank isnt much of a challenge once you have a fighting type on your team
No pokemon is much of a challenge if you have the right pokemon on your team ;)

@@e3210-y7o Good for you. Playing with overleveled pokemon makes every fight easy. That is why the most nuzlocke players use the level cap rule which means that you are not allowed to use pokemon with a higher level than the strongest pokemon of the next gym leader. Otherwise nuzlocke wouldn't be a challenge at all.

6 × 15 = 90 90 merril were killed training zipzapzop but the reason zipzapzop survived on 1 hp beacuse 1 Merrill gives 1 hp evs so 90 hp evs is what made zipzapzop lived the earthquake.

I've finished just 1 of multiple Nuzlocke attempts. Pokemon Pearl. My only survivor was my Empoleon starter and if not for my Girafarig carrying my team through the elite 4 I would've lost.
I've done a nuzlock for Pokemon Ruby, Black, Y and Ultra moon. Ruby and Y weren't that hard. But Pokemon black was very hard. I also cheated abit cause before I even got my second Pokemon my starter was killed 3 seperate times to single critical hits. Ultra moon was difficult but if anyone does a nuzlock for it train your Pokemon up to at least levels 70 to 80 and make sure u have a Pokemon that has super effective moves against zecrozom(spelling) because holy shit was that hard. I didn't lose any Pokemon till I fought him. Only 2 of my Pokemon made it from that fight. :(
The only reason I don't play nuzlockes is that the games only have a single save file. I don't like wiping all my hard work from my serious playthroughs
If you want to make a nuzlocke in one of the newer games, just transfer your important pokemon to another game. If you want to make one in an older game, use an emulator or something like that.
