Thanks so much for this down to earth and informative channel. I think I can speak for many new brewers on saying that the info you provide is invaluable for the community. Cheers!
Hi Mate, Karl here, just wanted to tell you the shirt I brought,I wore to the Hobart Beer Fest and If I had a beer that day for everybody who commented, that they liked it. I would of been pissed for free, I'm gunna order another one for sure mate
Mate! Gotta say I found your videos by accident one day. Bloody glad I did! Watching your videos and taking note of all that you do has made me a far better brewer than if I'd never found your channel. I always look forward to the next vid. If you keep them coming I'll keep watching and supporting. Cheers from Hendo Aotearoa NZ!
Recently won the Double IPA section of the Merri Mashers IPA comp (admittedly with an average score) with a no chill brew. It was plenty Hoppy but lacked in other areas. I tend to whirlpool hop and do a hop tea that I add at same time as yeast pitch.
Thats bloody great David, I haven't messed around with hop teas with my AG, did a few with extract, might give it a bash. This turned out great though! I was disappointed I ran out of time to enter my beer from hell into Merris comp. Thanks for watching mate, cheers!
Hey Gash, I bought the Gen. 3 Robobrew and after watching this video I phoned KegLand because I didn’t receive the silicone ring for the top screen. I was told they did away with the silicone ring as they made the Gen.3 screens bigger giving it a snugger fit.
A great in depth brew video pal. Good to see the latest Robobrew working well. Ouch. I'm sure you scolded your fingers when the wert escaped the cube. Good work pal
Great looking brew day and wow what a stunning looking beer you poured up. The Citra and Waimea sounds like a good combo. Never used Waimea myself. One day. Cheers mate
Hi, just wondering why you push the plate down so that it's under the surface of the wort? I thought the idea was to have it high so it evenly disperses the pumped wort over all of the grain? Cheers, great video!
Another top vid Gash. I just listened to the vid on my lunch break at work. I was looking for the budgie in the office here....weird. lol. Cheers mate.
Thin was probably not the right description lol but yeah its easy drinking and on the lighter body side. I nearly re-recorded that bit but changed my mind. Its thinner or lesser bodied than my usual big pales, that was how I wanted it, its quite nice and I will be using this method again! Cheers Vic!
yeah watch till the end :) I've done many no chills over the years, not usually for hoppy beers, I've done another 3 or 4 since this and they are good, some very good, but still prefer the chill method for hoppy beers, just gives you a bit more control, though still can make great ones. Cheers
Thats strange to get off flavours though, my mate just won home brewer of the year this year and all his are no chill, another person that commented on this video said he won the Victorian IPA comp with one and I have never got off flavours from the times I've done them, my next vid is a 2.5% abbey beer and you'd think that would show any off flavours being so small but it hasn't. Maybe the vessel you used? or... I dunno mate hard to tell from here :) Cheers and thanks for watching again!
Hi gash, great vid. Just a quick question, would you recommend a brewzilla over BIAB with a digiboil if I was to do no chill only brews? No need for a chiller etc etc and much cheaper price? Many thanks, Jimmy.
Work out the sums mate, but personally I hated with a passion handling a bag full of dripping wet hot grain >75c that usually weighed about 10kg, firstly raising it to drain and trying to balance it on something on top, and even at the end emptying it etc it was just a pain in the arse, but again you know, some people do it for years. Some will use pulleys etc to do most of the lifting and holding. You'll probably use the BIAB pot for something else if you decide to change to a system, so it might be good to start cheap, especially if you think you may not continue doing it, then again most things are easily to sell. Cheers Jimmy!
@@HomeBrewNetwork just another quick question. Can you make beer of the same quality with just a digiboil biab, no chill cubing Instead of the brewzilla? Is the only real difference having to mess around lifting the grain by hand etc etc. Many thanks, Jimmy. 🍻
@@jimmyc6619 yes you can, some beers will be hard to get exactly the same doing no chilling, but you can get very very close and other beers you wont tell the difference at all. As far as BIAB yep for sure, no dramas, sparging does help a touch but you can get by without it. There are a lot of things different, if you dont sparge then you'll need a touch more grain etc Cheers!

Nah had that fermenter for over 12 months now, its been in vids, probably just didnt stand out like it did in this one! I must upload the unboxing video one day lol Cheers mate!
Usually just the small element to hold mash temps, the larger will make you over shoot a bit more. I'll put them both on for mash out or temp changes. Cheers!
Thats totally up to you, you could siphon out and try and avoid it, or just tip it in, there is a lot of talk lately that the proteins help feed the yeast so its actually beneficial. Try it and see what you think. Cheers mate!
Hi gash how u goin mate, I've got my robobrew on the way and was planning to use the no chill method. How bad is it when using a hoppy pale ale? Thanks mate
I dont know exactly but its hdpe so good for hot liquids. Like this one but mines 23L . People apparently use the blue ones from bunnings but I've never tried , Cheers Jason. cheekypeakbrewery.com.au/20l-food-grade-cube-made-from-hdpe-plastic
Only if needed, I dont do it most times to try and leave any junk behind, even though I've never found it hurt anything. I've usually got a few beers on the go so missing out on a litre has never really worried me. Cheers

Great video. I just got my Robobrew here in Canada and this is a great "how-to". Thanks!
Cheers Kevin, thanks for watching!
Might make this one for my first BIAB thanks Gash. Always great videos.
Thanks for watching mate, cheers!
Great video Gash, I'm just about to start all grain so I'll have to give this recipe a go. My first attempt will be mariss otter and denali SMaSH.

I knew what you meant. Just how I like em.
What if make a hop tea , just add them when the wort cooled? So we can be sure of accurate IBU
I don't like hop teas, I dont find they work as well, but try everything. Cheers mate!
Any follow up on how turned out? Interested to see how you liked the no chill method

Cheers Gash. Never done a no chill, but keen to try it one day. Brew sounds like a gooden. I need to get a few beers on tab below 5% too. 😂🤣
I tried the no chill method once but got a lot of off flavors so won´t do that again. Anyway I see that you got the power of rice hulls. Cheers

Gash Slugg Brewing I just tried once and I must have done something wrong. Cheers
I'd understand if you were reluctant to try again! thats for sure! but it works!
Gash Slugg Brewing Yes, I`m sure. I just tried it once so I`m sure I did a number of rookie mistakes. Your end result looks delicious. Cheers
Ive used Galaxy hops before, I like them. Great brew day Gash. Cheers!

Thanks for watching Hoppy Bob! 17 Cheers!
Do you keep temp control on during mash?
cheers gash! looks like a bloody nice brew. think I need to invest in a robo and go all grain!!
Good fun! Thanks for watching mate, cheers!
Great video! What's a therm cap?
Fermcap is a liquid silicon same as anti-wind drops for babies, it can be used to control boil overs or over excited ferments cheers!
nice work mate.
Cheeerrssss Mayyyyttt
Good vid Gash..What model is that Vape Mod mate...
ummmm I got it cheap, umm Vaporesso Tarot Pro. it can get a bit top heavy with a big tank on top but its worked well for me! Cheers!
I see I'm a video you have a new toy a stainless steel fermenter great video by the way you make the robobrew look easy

How bad is it when using a hoppy pale ale? Thanks mate
This beer turned out fine! Just takes some tweaking if you are trying to do others recipes that arent no chill, Cheers mate!
If you're using a stainless fermenter why use the cube at all?
No air space which is a problem and can be left for months if needed. Cheers!

anybody got a link to those "plastic" jugs that he is using for no chill?

That is a bunnings paint straining bag :) You can see it here and the packets th-cam.com/video/ldHdYdT7hto/w-d-xo.htmlm36s Cheers mate!
Your welcome mate, tc
Hi, Gavin, I have been told to skim the foam off the top to keep the beer clear is that true
Never heard that one. Do you mean when boiling or fermenting?
@@HomeBrewNetwork yes mate
If you see obvious junk, like bits of grain etc yeah skim it, otherwise wouldn't bother, they certainly don't it in commercial breweries.
Cheers!
