I was very impressed with the boil on mine as well with all 3 elements on. Mine wasn't quite as full as yours was though. Haha great bloopers! "You got to be joking!" Cheers Gavin! 👍🍻
I always enjoy your videos Gash, great information, down to earth laid back presentation, clear camera footage, and honest explanations of pro's, con's of equipment, as well as mistakes and problems you might encounter. As a side note, the main problem with that Fermcap silicone solution is shiny head syndrome and eventually anyone who is hair challenged up top ends up with a dome so slick they can never wear a normal hat without a chinstrap again :-( Oh well keep up the great work mate your doing a terrific job. I'm on lower income (sick leave pay) atm due to a knee injury, but when I'm back up to speed I'll slip something your way for all the value you've given me since I first subscribed. Cheers :-)
Hey mate do you need that 2nd big container for the brewzilla? i think you referred to it as a HLT in a previous video for the sparging part, or can i simply put water over it through other means? Also was that hot or cold water used to sparge before brining it back upto boil. Cheers very green and keen on this.
Another top vid Gav, great stuff. Also, thanks for putting in the bloopers at the end, it show's that things happen to everyone and not just me.. Cheers mate.
Love your work mate. I'm thinking of upgrading to the Brewzilla 35L myself - a bit sick of the muck-around with the cooler mash tun and all the stuffing around that goes with it. An all-in-one seems the logical progression. Look forward to the next vid!
This is so helpful mate. As you know I just bought one. I'm making Single Malt whisky, so won't need to boil as I'll distill probably straight after fermentation has finished. Whats your thoughts on that? I know there's a mixed bag of idea's.....
Man these all in one machines really are getting well ironed out. Getting rid of all the niggles. I have the hopcat MK2 and it's great out the box but with a couple inexpensive tweaks they could be amazing.
It seems you transfer to the cubes shortly after completion of the boil so I imagine the temperature is up around 90 degrees c or more. How do you avoid Hot Side Aeration? Best practice would suggest you get the wort to below 30 degrees prior to transfer. I'm curious to know how this works. Keep up the good work, thanks.
no, its meant to be transferred as hot as possible, its done that way to make sure the cube and wort are sanitary, hot side aeration doesnt seem to cause a problem. we've been doing it this way for decades, many decades. Only thing that needs adjusting is late hopping, other than that its all good. Let me know if you want to learn more, Cheers mate!
The Home Brew Network are you worried at all about chemical leeching from putting the wort into plastic when it’s that hot? Great videos Part I and II cheers.
Good afternoon sir Peter from Camden here ,, how we feeling hope the family is well got a question for you ?? what if you put hops in the mash and let the hops go in with a mash what would happen....
People do do that, but then they'll usually add more at all the usual stages. Trouble with pulling out the hops at say even mash out temps, youre not going to get much bitterness, more aroma/flavours but then most of that will be lost in the boil. People say it can add aroma, but I am far from convinced about that. Cheers!
Love the vids mate. I'm going to go all grain soon and the Brewzilla looks the goods. After you fill the cubes, what do you do next? Chill them to a set temp and then add to the fermenter? Cheers Kev
Hey Gash, great review and Brew! Can I ask you where you got your large format no chill cubes. I’m based in Melbourne and have been using 16.5 litres from G and G.
I got one of those from Kegland, but they are out of stock, Cheeky Peak has them I think, the others were given to me, they were from some sort of food, syrup cubes. Cheers!
Coupla questions, cant remember if you had to get a sparky to mod a poerpoint or if it works in AY 240v staight off the bat? and whats your home made ferm cap solution ? cheers
Yeah I did get a sparky to do it, but its very simple to do, but... you know.. gotta be careful and insurance and stuff.. Wasn't home made ferm cap just a version from a wine supply store, much cheaper than the Fermcap-s
Its used, combined with whirlfloc or irish miss as a fining agent, it also reduces tannins and helps with head retention. Ingredient in Brewbrite or Polyclar. Cheers! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyvinylpolypyrrolidone

Great video! I’m about to pull the trigger on this unit and excited to convert to electric brewing and automate more of the process. Cheers!
It looked like an amazingly laid back brewday - that's what i'm always looking for! Most excellent...Cheers!
It was mate, thanks for watching!

It does make brew day easier in some respects for sure, the single vessels of course have some limitations but most are easily worked around. Cheers!

Nice looking system Gash, seemed to have plenty of heating power, the ferm cap works a treat too, 🍻🍻 cheers Mate, Mike.
Thanks again for watching mate, cheers!
this is the 2nd time I have seen the cubes. Where can you get them? I have looked online but nothing comes back for storage cubes.
ooh close call with the phone mate, great save! As always, great vid Gash. Cheers mate!
Bloopers at the end killed me hahaha, loved the video mate
hahaha cheers mate!

Yeah, most times of year its just let cool overnight, other times I just put the cube in the fermenting fridge to come to temp. Cheers!
Why didnt you use the immerssion chiller?
Hey Gash, great review and Brew! Can I ask you where you got your large format no chill cubes. I’m based in Melbourne and have been using 16.5 litres from G and G.
I bought my 20L ones from Hoppy Days.
I got one of those from Kegland, but they are out of stock, Cheeky Peak has them I think, the others were given to me, they were from some sort of food, syrup cubes. Cheers!
The end was gold. Love your work. Why did you add yeast to boil? Never heard of that being done before.
I believe it was PVPP. You can add yeast to the boil as a nutrient, will kill it.
yep it was PVPP
Great video mate. One question do you always add PVPP during the boil when no chilling?
I use it in most of my brews, when ever I remember! Cheers!
Thank you sir have a great weekend
Mate whats the smallest batch you can do on that beast im thinkin about getting one in the next few months cheers big fella
I just did a 22L batch, haent tried any smaller. Cheers!
Yeah no worres sounds good to me cheers mate
Another great video. Thanks again!
My pleasure! Cheers!

also keen to hear the homemade ferm cap
Yeah I did get a sparky to do it, but its very simple to do, but... you know.. gotta be careful and insurance and stuff.. Wasn't home made ferm cap just a version from a wine supply store, much cheaper than the Fermcap-s
You can get an adapter for the 240v from bunnings, wont be quite as powerful of course but supposedly it works! Cheers!
Hope you hit all your numbers m8,look forward to the follow up review once beer is kegged. Cheers.
Cheers Mate!
Just picked one up on morebeer 15 percent off
G"day gash. What is PVPP?

@@HomeBrewNetwork Do you use it in all your brews?
@@kevintaylor7660 yes. I do
Cheers Gash. Good thing you filtered it.... 🤣🤣🤣😂
Stass Brewing this⬆️🤣
hahaha yes...
Hahaha, sorry mate i didn't mean to laugh but thats the sort of shit that happens to me all the time. Thanks for sharing, cheers
Thanks for watching Keith!
Cheers Gash
Cheers mate!
Hi what's pvpp ?
Polyvinylpolypyrrolidone, it clears beer, it can be used in the boil and/or ferment. Clearing beer stabilises it. Cheers! bit.ly/KL-PVPP
🍻
Waving your mobile phone over the boiling wort will not end well
Yes, I cringe too when editing lol Cheers!
Bloody Murphy!
Damn you Murphy!
