Heard Petra for the first time when I was 19 years old. I'm 54 years old now. Petra is still my favorite. If the band members ever see these comments, I wanna say thanks guys. No matter where I was, you were there. Bright light in some dark days.

@@karendally1 Saw them in concert when they were on their Beyond Belief tour at the Macon Coliseum in Macon Ga. I was in the second row just left of center. Awesome seats and awesome concert.

I Remember Playing This On Cassette. ..
" When HE arrives, HE will Conquer them all, take back the ground given after the fall". Awesome words! When HE Comes down the Second time, it will not be as a sweet child, like HIS first coming. HE will be KING of kings, LORD of lords, with a Sword in HIS Mouth, to destroy those, who are destroying HIS earth. GOD only leased the earth to adam for so many years, but it is Still GOD'S earth.

+liquidnature13 I met John Schlitt for the second time last month, and he told me he liked this album so much, he wanted to name the next two albums "This Means War" 1 and 2. He said it's truly their anthem.

Very cool. :) John Schlitt has a one of a kind voice. My personal favorite album of theirs is 'On Fire', as it was the one my dad played for me as a kid after he'd pick me up from school.
+liquidnature13 Awesome! I was exposed to Petra in 1989 or 1990, when one of the guys in my 6th grade class brought in the "Beyond Belief" movie. My mother later bought me the "Beyond Belief" album in 1992 for my 14th birthday. "Beyond Belief" is one of my favorite albums, but "This Means War" is currently my favorite.

GOD is the Most HIGH, the devil said he wanted to be " like the Most High". even satan admitted GOD is HIMself the Most High,even though he was envious. " Great is the LORD, and Greatly to be Praised, HE is to be feared above (all) gods"- Psalm 97.

It amaze me how they manage to make awesome music, great and super cool arrangements, great image, great stages, great concerts, in a highly professional way, but without loosing their message and integrity. I think they are one of the best ministries ever in christian music. It's my humble opinion.

I heard petra for the first time back in 87' . I was hooked for life. I am 51 yrs olcd now and still they continue to minister to my life like it was the first time i heard them. Petra is an incredible ministry. Praise God and thank you Bob hartman for creating petra!

the christianized the holidays to erase the paganism that people were used to practicing. they made easter about the ressurection in stead of about pagan fertility ritual. Its probably a good thing too since largely americans have forgotten paganism.

This song, along with "This Means War!", "Kenaniah" and "A Dead Reckoning" are a few of my absolute favourite songs from Petra, the band which was my first introduction back in the late 80s to a Christian band which actually used the rock music I loved to listen to, and still do! Who else has the cassette tapes of Petra's albums?

Holy Father is my rock
I was saved at a Petra concert in 1997. Listened to this album on loop for MONTHS. My sister made fun of me for listening to all that "God music". Guess who is one of the strongest Christians' I know? Always wanted to say Thank You for all you do!

I grew up listening to petra. When I was 14 years old I got to help them set up their concert in evansville Indiana. Watched the concert later with my best friend billy huff, it was the funnest time of my life! Here I am in 2023 still listening!!!!!😊

Thanx much Unknownpetrafan, I've met John schlitt a couple times and actually gotta sit down next to him and get info on his life, somewhat a personal interview. It was during his Shake tour and when he sang wake The dead my spine curled lol. Too bad Petra is of no more, but he did tell me recently in an email that they are planning a reuinion tour in late 2010 or 2011.

Petra was Christian rock when Christian rock wasn't cool!!! Back in the 1980s there was no internet or I tunes and this kind of music was hard to find in the secular stores! Almost like you had to know someone to get these classics back in the day!!! Also, you may have heard these songs only once or twice a day on Christian radio stations back in the 1980s.
Christians and Jews get it. The holy land.
