My oldest son is in his early 20's and he has type 1 diabetes. But thank God for this piece of article th-cam.com/users/postUgkxibD_L3sDyYENL5CwePCd9plRBqjzw2mw At first he thought he had the flu and was lying down on the bed for three days until his sister took him to the hospital. They took his blood and it was 600. What I do not understand is how he could have gotten it, since no one in the family has it. But he is winning the battle now. This is good stuff.

Ruby The Lab Thanks so much ^_^ I give her coconut oil and rub some through her fur so it does make her fur nice and shiny :) She's 2 today and been spoilt with lots of new toys hehe!
Molly is a little anxious of other people when out and about as she's got into the habit of barking at people but trying to train her out of that. It's going to be take some time but once she knows the person she loves the attention :) So sad when they go! :( :( xx
My Black ab is 6 yrs, and I can't bear the thought of losing her, I can get over the loss of a human loved one, but the love for my canine companion runs much deeper, I know when she passes I will want to go with her ! I'm so sorry Abby Ravina, I can't wrap my head around such a loss, and I know something like that never gets better with time. I believe Mark Twain said "The dog is a gentleman, when I die I want to go to his heaven not mans" so very true for me as well.
Good progress for a young lab! :) I found personally that Molly really started picking up the more in depth tricks and had a better attention span from around 6 months onwards.
How did you manage that? My boy is 4 moths old and everything I was able to teach him so far is sit, lay down, stay, leave it, take it(the food or treat) and to come when called even when he is playing with other pups. And sometimes he even manages to go pee on command😂
My Lab, Phoenix, retrieves ducks, and that’s all she ever needs to do! And she does it quit well. Labs make excellent pets, but better companions. She scored 1578 on her SATs. Princeton class of 2022.
I have a chocolate lab about 5 months old and she gets distracted to easily and She doesn’t listen. I want to keep trying to teach her to do some of these tricks. Good job on teaching your dog!
With a young Lab they can get distracted very easily, try to use the highest "currency" you can, that might be some nice bits of chicken, fish, etc.. or could be a certain toy that they love more than anything. Keep the training sessions short, maybe 10 - 15 mins or if that's too long still then just 5 mins. If you find they are too energetic then try wearing them out a but first with a walk or play fetch etc.. Keep at it, your bond will grow so strong the more you train and spend time together ^_^
Thanks so much, Jim! They will always have a place in our hearts, they are just such wonderful dogs. When you get your Lab at retirement I just know they will bring you so much joy ^_^
She is a gorgeous field lab! I have a black field+show lab. Her mom was the field lab, & dad was the show lab. She’s my service dog and does a ton of fun tricks plus her working tasks. Wishing you and Molly many happy years of love, fun, and a great life together!
I'm blown away every day with my female black lab. She is 1.5yr and just clever as can be. She figures out new tricks and I just name them an tell she is a good girl. She is ball obsessed though, and I don't think that is going to change.
Oh my goodness, yes, they are so incredibly clever. Capturing a trick is one of the best and easiest ways, so definitely always keep them rewards close by for any occasion haha. Molly chased her tail when she was really little and I captured that, names it as Get your tail and now does it on cue. She's also totally ball-obsessed as well, it's quite a good thing to have another thing of high value you can use to reward with :D
Awwww, so cute. I was smiling through the whole video, and I caught myself actually saying 'Awwww' out loud a few times. Thanks for posting Bex, no matter how happy I was to begin with, videos of Molly being awesome always brighten my day :)
Aww really? Molly was so quick to learn to go outside, we kept putting her out every hour or so and she just got it, didn't have really many accidents at all. As we got her in the warmer months we could keep the door open too which helped and she liked to spend a lot of time outside. Some dogs do just take longer than others, but consistency it key. Keep putting him outside often, even every 30 mins if needbe and as soon as he pees or poos outside praise heavily and reward. I found from 7 months old was when Molly started showing less 'naughty' behaviors and started to really listen and learn a lot.
Put your dog on long leash in the house and keep an eye on him! Take him outside often, hourly...tell him to go pee/pooh and don't go back in the house until you get him to do his business. Praise him, tell him good boy make a big deal out of his doing his business outside. Watch training videos on potty training, pick one or two trainers here on YT and try what they say. Please... I have a 15 month old Lab that is very very energetic and we had a difficult time with him even though we started training at 7 weeks. As soon as we got him we began his training, used a crate at night and a leash during the day until he was several months old and we were sure he was house trained. Please for yours and your dogs sake, learn all you can about training. You will both be happier for it.
I have a yellow lab. He's 7 months old and does great as long as i have treats. As soon as those are gone its back to being crazy out of control. Guess I need to just work with him more. I love labs have had them since I was a boy. Use them to hunt with. Great looking well behaved dog you have!
Thanks very kind of you to say - Labs are just so so clever so I think you will have no problems, honestly she amazes me how easily she picks things up.
Thank you so much! It absolutely doesn't surprise me your pup is leaning fast, they are just so clever and just want to please ^_^ I hope the training is going well and you are enjoying spending time with your pupster! They grow so fast, so treasure every moment :)
Thanks so much ^_^ Aww you just gotta love them, such sweet dogs. Let me know if you manage to teach the socks trick or if you upload any vids of her, I'd love to see :D
your labrador is beautiful! I, myself have recently bought a black lab puppy named Yukko! I hope that I can teach Yukko many tricks as in this video. If I can. He's very naughty.
I had some basic knowledge from having other dogs in the past but everything else I just watched TH-cam videos, especially a lot of Zak George's Dog training revolution. I'd really recommend his channel, so many informational videos.
Beautiful. I have had dogs all my life of several different breeds. Right now I have a 3 month old Yellow Lab and I am so surprised how smart he is. I am looking so forward to teaching him more and more stuff.
wow thats amazing , at what age will they stop learning my lab is 2 she is fine with the basic commands but the id love try the advanced ones . and how would you go about it ?
Thanks Bick, they never stop learning, they can be taught new things at any age but of course as they get a lot older it might be a little trickier or take a little more time. At 2 she's only just reached her full maturity really so she should pick up new tricks really well still. You can go about it the usual way or you can try out a clicker. Perhaps have a watch of some how-to dog trick videos for ideas or if you want help in teaching a specific trick then let me know and I'll see if I can give any advice, or even a video on it :D
Bex88 she isnt a dull dog she is obedient she doesn't require a lead on a walk ( although i carry one just incase) i had her at 6 months from the pound and she had been clicker trained but to reinforce bad behaviour instead of good. what games can i plan with her to stimulate learning ?
Aww bless, Well I know one of molly's favourite games is to hide a tennis ball wrapped up in a blanket and then she has loads of fun trying to unwrap it to get to it. Is yours into playing ball? You can use toys and/or treats as rewards. I like to sit and roll the ball to Molly and she will roll it back, thats a nice little game. I started that one just by capturing the fact she knocked the ball towards me one time, praised her for it and then she picked up that it was good to push it back to me :)
DollyBear X make sure you train her well, I don’t mean high end stuff, but the basics, like peeing outside and some boundaries in the house, the peeing/pooping part at the start will be a bit difficult but is so rewarding once they learn. Best of luck to you, they are truly an awesome breed
My lab will stay, sit, lay down, roll over, sit pretty/beg, shake, high-five, and speak, though he struggles telling one from the other sometimes. Your lab is very obedient and well-trained. She has a beautiful coat, as well, and looks in spectacular shape. You are a great pet owner, keep it up!
Aww thanks so much! That's a good set of tricks you got him doing there. Perhaps he get confused between them sometimes as he might be just very over excited, as they can get :D If he doesn't already know it, 'Spin' I find is a very quick and easy one to train.
Bex88 Of course! And thank you, as well! That’s a good point, and likely the reason why. He’s a big dog, at 108 pounds, and gets really jumpy, hard to keep under control sometimes. Thanks for the advice!
Aww yes they do don't they, Molly is like that, she loves when she gets so much praise for doing it right. They are just such clever dogs and the more you put in the more you get back in return :)
She's so beautiful and smart! Is she an English or an American lab? I had an extremely large/tall yellow lab. At (14) mos he weighed 115 lbs. I was told that he was an English lab. Great job and thank you!
sonny dea Hey, thank you! She sure is super smart and such a character. We are in the UK so Id say she's an English lab but as she's more long and slender so she's more from a 'working' line than a stockier/chunkier show line :) shes currently 1 1/2 years old and weighs 25kg which is the lowest end of the average lab adult weight range range that websites suggest.
I wish my lab mix was this calm... He can do most of the tricks but he is super hyper... He is also only 7 months old so I am hoping as he gets older he will get calmer. She is a beautiful 🐕 Thank you for sharing!
Aww bless him, yeah he'll calm down a bit as he gets older. Molly was very much like that but from about 11 months onwards she has calmed down and 'matured', though she can still be a big baby! ^_^ If you find he is too hyper to concentrate when trying to trick train, try really wearing him out with a game of fetch or a long walk/run and that might make it a little easier then.
Bex88 thank you for the feedback. I appreciate it. I am also hoping when he get neutered it will chill him out some. I have some videos but he looks like mad 🐕 compared to yours lol!
damn she looks soo pretty awesome. My Girlffriend and myself are getting our first dog, a black lab female 8 weeks old... in one week. a little dream come true!

We are in the UK so Id say she's an English lab but as she's more long and slender so she's more from a 'working' line than a stockier/chunkier show line :) shes currently 1 1/2 years old and weighs 25kg which is the lowest end of the average lab adult weight range range that websites suggest.
Bex88 then she is not an English lab then you have literally just described an American lab.
Stunning pup! ❤️
Really! i can't teach my labrador all these
Sure you can! Trust me they are smart cookies :D
Oh yes you can, you have to let 'em outta the kennel first though.
Amazing training and best mom with soft words and soft trainingzDog also seems to be happy with her mother.Kudos

you are a good trainer and your have keep your dog very healthy. nice work done👍👍
im still teaching my dog to sit
Haha! well sometimes that's a struggle too when she's super excited she just wants to jump up and lick your face XD
If you find he is too hyper to concentrate when trying to trick train, try really wearing him out with a game of fetch or a long walk/run and that might make it a little easier then.
Bex88 thank you for the feedback. I appreciate it. I am also hoping when he get neutered it will chill him out some. I have some videos but he looks like mad 🐕 compared to yours lol!
Such a good girl :) Thanks for sharing this made my day!

She’s amazing well done!
This got my black lab puppy barking at the tv. Possibly admiration.
Awww that's so cute! :D I sometimes get Molly to sit on my lab and I'll put dog vids on for her. She loves to watch.
