I cannot see that a belt is forever. For sure a chain should last a lot longer than a belt…. a belt will stretch, it will rub, fray and potentially break. Then it’s a massive bill to repair.
Dealers always says these kind of things nothing is for ever look its heat and friction and tye belt is rubber material it has certain age so be on safe side change it for example 4 years or 60 k miles i would do that regardless what the dealer says

2 skoda dealers refused me because they don't have the electronic tool. And sayd that belt is forever, why change it? 🙄
