As stupid as it sounds i really think in this particular case that the Golden Buzzer is well deserved for the whole idea, instrument, performance & fun..
The contestant was actually playing a classical song meant for someone to sing like Pavorotti... And he recognized it coming out of an instrument designed for goofy entertainment... He was moved
I love how that 3rd judge was just dying inside, then he gives the instrument a try and does a total 180 - LOL

I'm shocked by the tone colors and vibrato this man got out of an otamatone! Just goes to show that a true musician can make music with anything.
No. It only highlights the talent of the sound technician behind the mixing board in the sound room away from the camera. No otamatone sounds like that unaided. There is some heavy post FX processing going on there.

The reason he hit the golden buzzer was because he tried it out and realized how hard it was to actually play one correctly + adding to the fact that the contestant made the voice sound vibrato was very impressive. Well done !! i am getting an otomatone soon :D

He's an extremely talented multi-instrumentalist. He's been making videos with his brother on the Tin Whistler channel for many years.
I loved how the fellow, upon realizing the quality of the instrument, just calmly walked off the stage, nonchalantly pressed the buzzer in passing, without pausing or even looking at it. Beautifully done.
If you have ever played a Otamatone, you should know how talented this man is!

I would love to see him take mine, and make it sound like that. I'm nowhere near even decent with it, but no amount of skill is gonna make my Otamatone sound that close to a human voice. It's more like the sound when you pinch the end of a balloon and stretch it letting air out.
I wanna add that mine is a Neo, and while soooo much easier to play, it simply sounds more robotic. I got my son an original and can at least understand how what he manages to do is possible

Basically any instrument can have that emotional depth. You just need a good player to bring it out. Try and play an otamatome sometime. It's definitely not easy to get that sound lol. Fun to play around with though

As a violist, I found playing this song on Otamatone relatively easy with only a few months of experience- I wish more string players would try, it looks intimidating but you can pick it up just give it a go!

I love how it wasn't the performance that got him the buzzer, it's the judges checking to see how much skill it took to play it that got him it
They probably thought the performance was good they just thought it looked easy to play and had doubts they where wrong no instrument is easy to play

Plus, I hear they quite on the cheaper side of Instruments... But I'm not really sure.

If this git a gold buzzard then they have low standards in Spain and are desperate... if you wanna see this instrument played properly look up “the dooo” on TH-cam... he can play the onholy hell out of this exact same instrument and make what this guy did look like child’s play as well as play tf out of the guitar and piano and outside of all that he has “relative pitch” and knows music theory which allows him to hear any song and be able to play it
