Do you know how to solder Laptop on off switch pcb and 1 mm pitch flexible plastic connector 6 pin connector P number of HP DA0U83P6E0. Hp laptop 15 n020us
I am trying to fix my pioneer VSX-521av receiver and I would like to de-solder and re-solder HDMI Board/DTS Chip. Can a chip fail due to bad soldering connection due to overheat for a long period of time? Can you fix the issue by de-soldering and re-soldering just like this video? Do I have to be cautious about the temperature since it might be different?
Very well explained? Wish I could get you to replace a connector on my Dji mini 3 pro I have the part but scared to fit it? Would it work with the cheapest air gun you’ve listed? Good luck in the future

There are many connectors that will not hold their shape at the lead-free solder melting point. Even real, high quality, glass filled polyamide connectors will have a hard time. Also, when a connector like the one depicted needs replacing... it needs it because it is severely damaged somehow like burnt or physically broken. Anyhow, it might come off in several pieces and with some welded traces along. Your students will ruin many phones or other devices :)) 'till they figure it out. If the'd ever will...

Hai noroc!
Followed everything, still ended up melting the connector before the solder. I cannot get my head around it, even manually reheating the pins with my soldering iron while on hot air, the solder rehardens on the board at 350⁰ Air when removing the iron. Tested airflow from minimum to so hard, the flux flies off. When I got the connector off, it was completely warped and so soft that I could twist it. Only on Practice boards but frustrating still. I even swapped the solder to leaded without resolve. Only thing is that I got fake amtech flux which still worked well for my previous applications.
@@sharymens8187 yes it worked in the end. For thin boards, make sure to heat for a good while to actually have the board reach the desired temperature. For thicker boards like I did in the end (a sandwiches phone PCB) you most likely need a heatbed. I got a really cheap one (the small white cube that's all over the net, works really well) Set the heatbed to 150⁰C that's just cool enough to not kill the plastic, then put the board on and just let it cook for 10 min. Leadfree solder melts at 230⁰C so you have to get the board to that temp briefly. Set the hot air gun to 300-330⁰C, not hotter! Better longer exposure than more heat. Good flux helps and reflowing with leaded solder is recommended after getting the old connector off. I would not recommend soldering with an iron, but if you do, use the heatbed as before and set the iron to 400⁰C for removal and destroy the old connector. Then prepare the pins with fresh solder on two pads, set the iron to 300⁰C and solder the new connector onto these. Next, tin the tip and use really good flux again and just glaze over the pins to spread solder over them. A hoove tip helps. Check the result for shorts and if you can't get it done, visit a local shop. Chances are they have experience and if you bring the right parts, it shouldn't cost s fortune.
Thank you for your amazing lessons Wanted to ask if you plan on adding lessons on diagnosing motherboard faults, reading and understanding schematics (from a beginner perspective)?
360°C Air speed 5 for 30 seconds. Then add a little more flux if necessary. Then raise the temperature to 450°C Air speed 2 until it is free from the board.
Thanks for the lesson.

@@khamigen Thank you very much!
Why do you solder first, if you need to desolder? I mean why do you put solder and flux and remark the pads prior to using the wick?
Idk man usually u just heat it up, take it off with tweezers, add flux for good connection and then with heat applied you pop on the new connector
Excellent 👍

Cost of fpc battery connector repair?
very helpful video but I had trouble in removing the FRP @ 300°C
could you explain why that had happened?
Tnx
You need to rise the temperature; your station doesn t maintain the tenperature well; you need to practice on motherboards broken
use branded hot air station
360°C Air speed 5 for 30 seconds. Then add a little more flux if necessary.
Then raise the temperature to 450°C Air speed 2 until it is free from the board.
Which flux u used can u send the name?
