    I remember Durban as a beautiful city in 1961, 62 and ‘63 as a young seaman from UK. Met a lot of lovely people, white & black, loved the Afrikaans language, the Zulus and the country. Sad to hear that it is not as nice as it was. Cheers from Australia.

      @Vinesh Naidoo Apartheid was imposed badly, and, as the negative effects became a nuisance to everybody the White government used violence instead of good sense to cure the problems. Needless to say the whole system was overturned soon afterwards.
      Apartheid could possibly have helped the differing cultures to live their diverse lives, in their own way, in peace.

    • @christobosman5710
      @christobosman5710 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Vinesh Naidoo Excuses excuses , why don't you look at yourself , you created the space you live in , why is it that the white areas are still good looking and yours look like a dump , pull your finger out of your ass and start doing something positive , Apartheid was the only successful way to rule South Africa , proof me wrong ?

      Do you remember when those blacks,Indians and coloured were not allowed on the beach And were forced into areas. The whole system was evil just to benefit the whites. The sickening whining of the whites is a bad joke. The system was for the few so trying to make the economy work for everyone is nigh on impossible. Remember the whites are responsible for this mess.

      Very true...had the apartheid government treated everyone fairly and equally, it would have stayed that way...some of the crimes were : no equal rights, no equal education, no equal jobs and likewise equal pay structure, blacks were confined to rural areas and not allowed to attend or visit restaurants, theatres, museums, parks, drive-ins, amusement parks, basically everywhere you look it was whites only. That government had really messed things up badly

    take your word for it re the pics. I see the number plates on the Beattle are Blue and white. Now I recall that more recently (most certainly after the 60's), it was made compulsory in SA to change from yellow and black to blue and white number plates. Hence my take that the pics are not as early as 60s
