thats because you have to readjust the motor to know when to open and close. any amount of difference from what it was set to will make it open back up
Looks like another gimmick but many will fall for it common sense is that anything is driven over will collapse & get torn up in this case a very short time it will be garbage..

I have abandoned trying to fit a brush seal to the top as it stops the (electric) door closing. Is this likely to cause the same problem?

I mean our vehicles tires are also made of rubber and we have to replace those every 20 miles due to them being driven over constantly right?
