what I love so much about youtube is that over half a century later we finally get to see the guys and gals singing the songs we loved so much in the 60's....back then it was on the radio or a 45...sometimes I had no idea if they were black or white not that it matters cuz I loved them all
@@paiakasearancke5722 - Lead singer is Bill Burktte; directly to Bill's right is Hugh Geyer - 1st & 2nd tennor. The others - Don Miller & Chuck Blasko. 👌
This song always makes me happy from the first time I heard it in the 60s even until now. The voices, the melody. All excellent. To think I tried dance like those gogo girls lol as if it was cool. We didn’t always know what the singers looked like. Perhaps we would see a picture of them on an album cover or on American bandstand or something but it wasn’t like today when you can look up everybody and see what they look like and watch clips of live, shows, etc. We certainly didn’t know their names very often .
I may love Wagner Rammstein Nina Hagen etc etc but these guys two Tenors and Two Baritones made one of the most beautiful and melodiously pleasing songs EVER
Someone whose mother knew them and was introduced to them, so they were in high school. Kids looked more adult back, then, much more responsible and grown-up acting..
A terrific video in both sound and sight. I've never seen one quite like this: the audience on three levels, their hand-clapping involving them with the performers; the dancers matching in both moves and clothing. Not really surprising to see everyone so well-dressed. At first this video seems similar to many others of that time but is actually something more.
@@scottieg16 It's a small world. Donny Miller was my uncle. He sadly passed away almost two years ago. I talked with your uncle and Chuck at the funeral.

What the heck is the guy all the way left "playing"? I think I'm pretty good at old guitar stuff but that thing looks like a modern day Martin travel guitar with a Samurai sword attached to the neck! Maybe it's just the play of the light? Looks like the Vouges had been making the rounds on TV appearances by the time this was shot or the stage area was bordering on bedlam. In any case it'll always be the kick ass workingmans song of all time, and thanks for the great video.

I love my own culture’s music and my own culture.
Great Group and ya just gotta love those Dancers... Wow...Why don't we have them nowadays ???
One of my favorite songs from one of my favourite groups from that era of great music. 😀
To Mr, it is absolutely timeless 🥹
A real classic, great vocals.
It’s 10/1/24 in Austin, Tx! Great song and awesome singers! Seniors were great in ‘68! I’m 75 and still rockin’ to the ‘60s today🥳🎶
I grew up with this great muzic of the 60's ☮✌❤
Plenty of memories listening.
Never will there be any decades of music like the 60s and 70's!!
No, never!!❤😊
It was a time that will never be again, sadly. Wonderful time.
What a FANTASTIC SONG. My All Time Favourite. Four beautiful blending voices.
Especially= Slipping awwwway !
What a great memory.
Great music never dies.
So so true!
What a FABULOUS video not to mention the group, the 60's decade really had the best music
I was born in 59, thank goodness my sister was 16 years older so I could hear her playing the old songs
I am the same, born in ‘59 and thank goodness I heard my older sister’s music.
Teaching the kids that work is around the corner. And that they'll be adults soon.
Carl Gibson, Bill Ferguson, Walter Mandola, and Stephen Holt...otherwise known as The Vogues! What a group!!
The original lineup consisted of Bill Burkette, Don Miller, Hugh Geyer, and Chuck Blasko. Wikipedia

A great song from a great era
I was 12 and this reminds me of my Dad coming home in time for dinner from his job at GM in NYC when we lived on LI.
My dad also worked for GM local motive in illinois. And too my dad walking in and mom having dinner ready. Great childhood memories!!!
Don't care what they say go-go dancers are cooler than twerkers.
MUCH MORE CLASS!
Yes they are!
Better looking, more talented and much much classier
Got that right!!!
Go-go dancers work! Twerkers just collect welfare, EBT, Medicaid, etc. 😡
I Was Living In Flushing, NY When This Came Out! AM 77 WABC Used To Play It A Lot! Time Sure Flies...Great Memories! 🎧

THE DREAMY 1960s DECADE. THANKS FOR THE MEMORY. THOSE GUYS ARE SO TALENTED. PEACE & LOVE.
I love this song and all their songs . I listen to them on my pandora while at work .. just the best
Ditto, ditto !!!!
Love the guitarist wearing sunglasses. Inside. During the sixties.
Just bought the Vogues cd on ebay on the back of this song and what a cracking cd it is..Not a bad track on it...Thumbs up from me..

More go-go girls,..reminds me of high school/college. What a good time. We all had fun. Tips were good and beer was cheap.
Classic song
An actually high-quality video clip; nice.
It's amazing these guys were about 20 years old but all the acts back then looked alot older.
Just said that to 20 years old and two of them look bald. Maybe they were really older.

Just saw the most current version or them in Aurora. It was awesome!
Outstanding song, but there is a lot going on in this video-wild.
This second singer the small one eeeeee is something else
Hugh Geyer is his name and he helped give the Vogues that distinct sound.

Looks like Los Bravos playing in the background. Maybe other artists that performed on that particular show there too.

It absolutely does look like a Martin travel guitar with the optional Samurai sword attachment.
it could be just a prop as the mime the song.

Reruns of the Drew Carey show brought me here!😃
And you see the girls dancing and think instantly of the Drew Carey show. Loved his tribute as opening credits.
🎵 Looks like the _Whiskey-a-Go-Go_
What does one call the sort of barking noise that they make that sounds very cool? The "Heh!" sound?

What is that instrument he is playing to the left? It has a curved neck.
no auto tune
What tv show was this shindig? Hullabaloo? Shivaree or something else
My first thought was Shindig. Looks like the style of go-go dresses they wore.
Just got here and it does look like s strange guitar, never seen anything like it, Maybe home built???
The lead singer appears taller than everyone on stage including the band players in the back.
The 'Vogues" R still VOGUE
How come the acts all looked older back then

I think of the Drew Carey Show when I hear this.😀
Sadly I love lorah'-she is no available fore comment...
I think those go-go dancers took dancing lessons from Elaine on Seinfeld!
Elaine couldn’t hold a candle to them.
Guess Who
THE DREW CAREY SHOW?
No grunge look? Huh?
Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons like . They sound great .
The Go Go Girls in the back look so cool but could you see the women feminists seeing that today they would be bitching about it all over the place.
