Their timeless! I was so lucky to grow up in this era. A kid with a transistor radio messing around in the garage with my buddies. Life really was better then. We didn't even lock our door, nobody ever stole my bicycle. The Vogues and so many other fantastic groups of that era keep me from being depressed about how messed up my country is now.
How wonderful it must be to open your mouth to sing such wonderful music and be joined by three other guys with voices like these. It would take a long time before I would be able to get over the utter joy of the experience .
I’ll have to admit this , I am as big and husky as Bill Burkett . I believe that my favorite American men group is The Vogues !! I have a deep bass voice also !! Bill Burkett was so underrated !! He often wasn’t the lead singer of the Vogues .
The great The Vogues we lost The great and late Bill Burkett from my town Pittsburgh play this on my internet radio show Classic Soul me The Masterblaster.
I know this clip. Do you have the whole Upbeat special from this. It has the Happenings singing "I Got Rythmn" in front of the same audience which is great The special has other acts like Marvin & Tammy , Smoky Robison and other acts. I use to have the video and want to get it again. Let me know , best Dan

I had the pleasure of sending the original group and they were absolutely great!!!
What a beautiful, underrated voice Bill Burkette had.
Rest in Peace Bill. Wonderful singer
I’m as big as Bill Burkette !! The sound needs louder sound !!
One of my favorite groups from my younger days 👏🏻🥰‼️
It's on an LP called Groovy Greats that was released in 1966 that I have and I hear myself humming it during the day. Love it.

Very underrated group
You have that RIGHT!!!
I don’t know about that. I thought they were pretty well rated back in my teen years (1960’s). Or, at least, quite popular back then.
This song never gets old, it just gets better with age. Thanks for posting as it brings back great memories.
I don't care if others say it's schmaltzy, I still like "Magic Town".
Sweet memories of a time before the world went completely crazy.
💯
One of western Pennsylvania's finest groups!

Bill provided a great lead, and Hugh was a standout soprano ... they performed at my college prom in NC, and were terrific
cool and beautiful voice
One of my all-time favorites! Thanks for sharing this!
Sure miss this music
Loved the lady in the white gloves. Thought maybe it was down at the Stuft Shirt in Newport Beach, CA. Truly great mid-60's tune BTW.
Fantastic, no auto tune here!!!!
well, it was 1966 (maybe recorded in ‘65) so no autotune here
"Magic Town" wasn't one of the two hits that put the Vogues on the map, but I think it was my favorite. Where was this performance held?
It was edited in different locations
thanks for this vid of all different performaces in one
Me too
I think the elegant club about mid song is The Roostertail in Detroit. If so, that is Windsor across the river.
just drove unplanned through downtown Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania Yesterday. These guys are great!
Loved 5 O Clock World , but this one remains so special !
