- CARE: The Redfoot Tortoises are not high-maintenance, the main daily chores involve feeding, water bowl changes, and cleaning up pet wastes.
BEHAVIOR: Unlike some other breeds of tortoise, the red-footed are relatively active during the day. They are unique and rare.
HOME: An ideal enclosure for the red-footed tortoise is a sturdy, escape-proof enclosure outside. This species is native to tropical areas and prefers a humid climate perfect in our homes.
We provide shady area with plants for a cool retreat. You can house this tortoise indoors, but you will need an enclosure. Full-spectrum ultraviolet light is necessary for an indoor enclosure since your tortoise will not get unfiltered sunlight.
DIET: A pan of water should be provided at all times for your red-footed tortoise to walk into as well as a dig box of moist organic dirt or moss at least 6 inches deep.
Leafy greens, fruits, and other vegetables make up their main diet. We give them spinach, Nalta Jute, Lettuce, Papaya, Pumpkin, Mulberry leaves, Grape leaves, Hibiscus leaves and diet pellets enriched with vitamins and minerals. We also allow them eat earthworms as these are good source of protein.
GET A PET TORTOISE: Signs of a healthy tortoise include clear, discharge-free eyes, nose, and mouth. Also, check that its fecal vent is clean. Remember, these REDFOOT tortoises pet can be your lifetime companion as they can live up to 50 years.

hello ask ko lang po sana if pwede ko pa kaya i keep ung red eared slider turtles namin na both a year old sa aquarium? di po kasi ganung kalaki ung aquarium eh
How big is your aquarium po?
Should fit in 10 gallons. The rule of thumb is to provide 10 gallons of water space per 1 inch of shell length per turtle (so a 4 inch turtle needs a 40 gallon tank minimum) and the tank will need to increase in size as they grow, eventually needing a pond or large stock tank. Don't forget the dry dock!
