I was a teenager when this movie came out in the 70s.....life was so idyllic and sweet in so many ways.....I thank God for allowing me to live and know the people in that period of time......television was limited compared to today's selection but the quality of shows then were unsurpassed compared to the stuff that is out there today! GO on Sister and the Sisters!
Stop it, the 70’s was far from perfect. I hate how old people always trying to make it seem as if life was so serene back then. If I had a choice to be raised in the past generations or in the current generation (which I already am), I obviously would choose my generation. It’s better

The lyrics for this movie should have never been given to Aretha to sing, these girls did a great job of singing in this movie and their voices should have been used on the album. I also was not pleased with the remake that Whitney Houston did. My opinion, and it remains just my opinion, Sparkle should never have been touched. I love the original Sparkle. I couldn’t watch the remake. I was excited about Whitney doing the remake but as far as the little part I saw it didn’t do the original justice. She should have left it alone if it wouldn’t come close
It took me a few tries before I could watch the remake. I had to convince myself not to compare the two and I actually loved it but I like the original better.
