Blake, I loved your story about the little kids learning to sail! I got to see a class like that on the Olympic Peninsula a few years back. I am wondering if you did that as a kid? When did you start sailing?⛵
I did do that as a kid I learned in Boy Scouts when I was 12, but I didn’t do anything serious on the ocean till I was 16. For the most part I’m self taught!
OK - dumb questions here.... you need better battery power... do you have heat if you need it? A/C if you needed it? Good you aren't on a time schedule. AND what a great attitude!!!
I don’t have heat or AC but I do need the power for my refrigerator, laptop, navigational instruments, and various water pumps. I technically don’t need power to sail but I am required to display lights at certain times and having a refrigerator makes my life a little easier also my stove is induction so with no power I cannot cook food thankfully I have a backup but I am looking forward to fixing the issue.
The two dead batteries explains a lot. We never got a chance to check those when we were at clipper. Is one of those batteries 24V? (Can't see in vid) I run a lot off of only 2 panels in my van and the extra storage capacity saved me in the winter. With all the sun in San Fran I expected you to be doing just fine, but without much storage it's difficult.

No they are all 12v but one of them was charged to 20… yikes I just replaced with 400AH LIFEPO
Yeah I was impressed I ran of 2 car batteries for a week I had everything off, and only ran the anchor light at night.
