      I am genuinely encouraged to hear that these videos are of use to you. But I must also say that the wisdom found here is not mine, I am simply sharing the wisdom of the Church Fathers. What speaks to your heart is the Holy Spirit, just as He speaks to mine, through Orthodox tradition. Please don’t attribute anything to me, I am only passing on a small part of the riches found in God’s Church. God bless you.

Doctors telled my parents that Im not going to survive but they prayed and couple weeks later some women said that Im going to survive and Im going to be man of God. I dont know where it leads me but I will know that Jesus guides me. I survived and Im following word of God. It was nice to tell you this story. May God bless you and give you health and long life.

    In these devastating times, I like to remember the words of the Lord himself which say (not verbatim): “Do not be caught up in earthly affairs, for you are not from this world but a citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven”.
    When Herod was slaughtering innocent children in Bethlehem, Christ did not go to physically defend them, and nor did his Mother, Joseph, or any other Holy biblical figured around at that time because the Angel did not give such instructions. Instead, Christ prepared seats in Heaven for the infants, and now we have 14,000 more Holy intercessors.
    So now that Herod is murdering children again, why should we be so concerned over which we cannot control? We do not and will not have control over Herod, regardless of whether or not our voices are heard. The Lord in his mercy and majesty will take care of the victims of ‘modern Herod’.
    I am in no way shape or form supporting or defending abortion or pro-death activists, but rather I hope to remind our souls that we should stay focused on our salvation and on our relationship with The Most High, because there is no living human being who isn’t drowning.
    Please correct me if I’m wrong about any of this. I highly appreciate critical feedback.
    Thank you as always for your precious insights and teachings.
    May God hear my entreaties of Peace to come upon your and all of our brethrens’ souls as unworthy as I am, Amen.

    • @8bit4you
      @8bit4you 15 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      I agree with you.
      Many of our saints would not concern themselves too much or too long with worldly events. They know that we fight against evil more than anyone, as St Paul said "not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."(Eph 6:12), but the only thing to do with real effect is prayer, both for the salvation of others and ourselves. Yes, saints would sometimes involve themselves in worldly talks to get to layman's terms, but their conclusion is always the same - return to prayer for each other - God has a plan - trust in Him.
      Prayer is the most beneficial thing that we can do. It reminds me a little of this quote.
      "Speak more to God about your children than to your children about God" - Elder Epiphanios of Athens
      Of course we must also "expose darkness" (Eph 5:11) but this is not our main goal, as our main goal is to do God's will, as is seen in the following passages:
      "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven." (Matthew 7:21)
      "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
      "For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality;" (1 Thessalonians 4:3)
      "“If you love Me, keep My commandments." (John 14:15)
      "Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him." (John 14:23)

    My soul is consumed by lust and I'm trapped. I've prayed my heart out, and would fall in to sin the very next day. I've worn out my conviction. It feels like a stain I can't remove and although I tell myself that God has infinite Forgiveness, I feel undeserving and trapped in guilt. A vicio😂us cycle. At this point I need a miracle cure because I'm weak and have no restraint. Praying for Forgiveness is harder than praying for help yet I still subject myself to it. I typically don't believe in posting things like this but at this point, Im broken. Please pray for me...

    • @GloryBeto3
      @GloryBeto3 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Dear svainofficial,
      May the Lord strenghten you in the battle of sin! I know it can be overwhelmingly hard sometimes. May our merciful and faithful high priest Jesus Christ walk with you in your temptations - He has been tempted perhaps more than anyone and knows how to help those who are being tempted (Hebr. 2: 17-18).
      I hope that you'll know that, strictly speaking, the victory over sin and temptation is not yours, but His. When we want to fight, we may sometimes try too hard to fight on our own, and considering that although our spirit is willing, our flesh is weak (Matt. 26:41), we often end up failing. I know from personal experience also. But Jesus has emerged victorious through all darkness, sin and death - there is no one better to turn to when we are struggling. He is our Redeemer! In Him, we can be victorious too, but not without Him. Let us therefore pray not just for His forgiveness, but also for His interference when a tempting situation arises.
      In all things in life, prayer is important as a living connection to our Lord. The Word of God is also imporant, it is the sword of the Spirit (Eph. 6:17) we need to be equipped with in the battles of life. We can "respond" our flesh with Scriptural truths, holding on to what is good and what the Lord teaches us through His word. It's in our heads and hearts that sin is primarily battled. If we fill our thoughts with the Scripture and with thoughts of Jesus and His mighty work and such precious promises that are much more valuable than anything that this world can offer, we cannot at the same time be filled with sinful thoughts and desires. In the moment when temptation arises, we need to keep our eyes on Jesus and to think of Him, denying the evil in His powerful name.
      Also, with the temptation of lust it's often best to quickly remove ourselves from the temptation and to avoid situations that lead to temptation. Our Lord Himself has sad that "if your right hand is causing you to sin, cut it off and throw it away from you" (Matt. 5:30). This isn't to be taken literally, but certain sacrifices need to be made to battle sin. We cannot leave the door open for it. You may think about what kind of things are the channels of temptation and the means though which you respond to temptation by giving in (for many, they may involve images and technological devices, for example) and see if there is something triggering that can be cast aside.
      You are not alone in your struggle. Don't stay alone. May the grace of God supply you with abudant joy in Him, so that no temptation of lust may take that space in you heart.

    I have for most of my life believed in Jesus and I got my bible in school I felt my belief stronger. I always feel the need to pray and talk to God, for protection and help for me and others. But when I pray and talk to God I don’t know what to say. I start to repeat words and lose things to say and become disorganized. Is there a way to pray, like things to say and in a order to say them, because I like structure. I anyone could help me with my problem I would be very happy.

      Well I'm not Orthodox, however when praying always start by thanking God for all things in your life, family, friends, life itself. Then ask for forgiveness, it strengthens our relationship with Christ when we say sorry for the bad things we have done and ask Him to have mercy on us. Then ask Him to bless all your loved ones and the good things in your life, by then just chat with Him about ANYTHING, He loves to hear from us and there's no pressure in talking about our life and worries to Him. Finish by saying the Our Father prayer and then say "I offer up these prayers in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen."
      Hope this helps! Do ask if you have any more questions.

      The Orthodox Christian often prays the Jesus Prayer, which is " Lord Jesus Christ Son of God have mercy on me a sinner " . They have a prayer rope and repeat it on each knot.
      Also buy yourself a copy of the Jordonville prayer book it has all the daily prayers that you need.

      Like the men who once carried their paralyzed friend to You, lowering him on his mat through the tiles of the roof because there was such a crowd in front of them, we humbly bring this troubled soul to You. Whatever obstacles there may be, we thank you that there is always a way. Now, standing at the rooftop, we call out to You who are never far: Lord, if you are willing, you can help him. Say the word, and he will be healed.
      Thank you Lord, for Your infinite goodness. May this brother learn to know it, through all the stills and the storms of life.

We have to be prepared to meet our Maker sooner rather than later, and hopefully in repentance, in a way that we might be an acceptable living sacrifice to God and ultimately His Son, Jesus, the Judge

      Dear GlorytoGod,
      I don't know what you are struggling with exactly, but I hope that through the grace of God we may find some encouragement in shared thoughts and experiences. You are not alone in the struggle you are facing!
      In the battles we are involved in, the Word of God is very important. In Matthew 4, when Jesus was tested in the wilderness by the devil, Our Lord showed a way to respond through the Word of God. He battled the deception and temptation with Scripture, "the sword of the Spirit" as described in Ephesians 6. We can all counter lies by shining the light of God’s truth upon them. For example, when I have struggled with feeling overwhelmed with my sinful nature, it has helped me to "answer" bad thoughts and feelings with scriptural truths such as found in Romans 6; that our old self was crucified with Christ and that, therefore, we are no longer slaves to sin, that He is my Lord and I belong to Him. We can, in fact, quote Scripture to whatever we are fighting against, as long as we remember that the enemy knows the Scripture too and can twist it and use it against us.
      Prayer is very important too, because we cannot fight on our own. In all things, we can and should reach out to God. I regularly experience times when it feels almost impossible to pray, it really is a struggle. We can simply pray for help. Sometimes it helps me to pray psalms, especially when I cannot find words. And praising God is very powerful and suitable for all situations! If I cannot pray anything else, I praise. The most important thing is to keep our eyes on Jesus, to not give up but to keep turning to Him in everything, whether in prayer, in studying His Word, or in other ways. It is through Him that we can do all things, it is Him and Him only who is able to make us stand.
      May the peace of God guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus.

    • @FatherSpyridonROCOR
      @FatherSpyridonROCOR  10 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      It isn’t simply forgiveness for specific sins we seek from God, but for the rebellious and sinful condition of our heart. Jesus taught many times that we will receive the forgiveness we have shown to others. We are called to forgive these temporary, insignificant worldly slights while asking God to forgive the evil we commit against Him.
      God’s forgiveness is not just a legalistic matter of guilty or innocent, as Protestants teach, but is a matter if healing and transformation. In order to enter into and experience this healing, we must freely choose to forgive others. God does not force anything on us against our will, and this even applies to our restoration and salvation. When we refuse to forgive others, we are rejecting God’s mercy and love. The condition of our heart is everything. God bless you.
