Just a reminder to you guys that want to put a high compression engine with a massive cam in it into your stick shift car let the bucking be a lesson. Their is no getting around it. The the mile long first gear in that thing is also a factor. That engine needs to cruise at 5000 5500 just to be happy. Below that it's all over that cam. So big cam + low speed is a no no. What do you mean rings are shot? Do you actually know how the internals on these things work?? Go read up about why Nascar motors smoke when you start them up. May surprise you.
I have no clue, living here in England, I do not know what a full NASCAR Truck needs to go rolling down the track. Under the skin this a is a full racing truck.
Something doesn't add up. It is a strong motor, but I doubt any kind of nascar cam. The nascar engines can actually idle at about 1500, maybe even less without dying, But when racing they keep it up higher so a driver is less likely to stall it. Can be easy to do.
The closest I've got to that was my 66 C10 short wide, small block 350 RV camed the performer manifold 600 holly , Turbo 350 and Stock 12 bolt rear end 😎😁
Love the truck but if it’s a 66 why didn’t you add the back up lights? Without them my brain thinks 65 or 64. Back up lights were optional in 64 and 65 but mandatory on 66 just like seat belts.

Congratulations to Dennis for being Badazz of the week!
I am always looking for feature Badazz builds and people who love to think outside of the box and are building things that dreams are made of! If you know someone who fits the part please pm me so we can get them featured!
Me thinks that a 8800rpm 355ci motor that you would replace valve springs as often as plugs. But it sounds hoo muma!
I suspect you are right.
Are those real boom tubes?
Everything under that 66 C10 skin is genuine Nascar truck, everything.
@@Grizzmakes that's awesome beautiful truck
Nice!!! Getting drunk being outlaws on the back roads
Not quite, but close enough. Always pushing the line a bit, but never too stupid, we did that shit 30-40 years ago.
Nice truck!!
How that guys foot resisted a startup throttle wack I’ll never know??
I guess it is a bit scientifically decided….. heating up the trans oil’s etc before you start it up, having hand built it, a bit of mechanical sympathy till its warmed up all them bits that works best warm makes sense. Dennis certainly is not scared of being a hooligan.
Too expensive to be starting it cold and revving it hard
That is wicked!!
Thanks a lot. Yes it certainly is.
On top of old smokey. Looks and sounds good though
What engine?
Google Hendricks NASCAR Engine be you should get all the information, hope that helps.
Essentially what a Nascar truck would look like in the 1960s. Should have been.
@@thedirtybubble9613 True. Probably less power though.
Sounds pretty good for the rings being shot
What do you mean rings are shot?
Do you actually know how the internals on these things work??
Go read up about why Nascar motors smoke when you start them up. May surprise you.
@@Grizzmakes Easy there brother, whatever works for YOU.
BAD ASS truck. Idle needs to come up a bit 😎🏁
I suspect it is set up as good as it can be to give a balance of driveable performance. Regardless, it is a buzz when it comes on song.
What engine is it ? ;)
Nice truck..
Gracias.
this is a dream...
That is how it started.
Would be much easier to drive with a different clutch, I'm guessing it still has a multi-disk mini clutch in it. Wouldn't sound as cool though.
I have no clue, living here in England, I do not know what a full NASCAR Truck needs to go rolling down the track. Under the skin this a is a full racing truck.
Clutch wouldnt affect the sound. Its a ton of cam and lots of timing lead that makes it buck/jerk til it comes up on the cam
Beautiful chevy
Thank you, Dennis did a good job, looking at what he started with.
Very cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What tires are you running? Are they 10" wide wheels? I saw they have a tread pattern. Neat truck.
If I had to guess it's probably the rain tires that Nascar uses , I know they have a tread pattern ,
Yeah thats kinda what I figured.. I was hoping it was something street legal..
a true nascar built motor idles at 2000 rpms, why is this one around 1000 rpms?
Something doesn't add up. It is a strong motor, but I doubt any kind of nascar cam. The nascar engines can actually idle at about 1500, maybe even less without dying, But when racing they keep it up higher so a driver is less likely to stall it. Can be easy to do.
Try to drink your road beer in this truck!
I tried…. Failed.
The grin on my face was too big to be able to drink 😉
Munssey Speed makes carbon fiber truck parts for this truck!
Sweet looking and sounding ride! Is that motor on rubber mounts?
Morning Eddie, it certainly is a beautiful truck, great finishing. No idea on the mounts.
Probably has a motor plate for mounts
I can smell the racing fuel fumes through the screen!!
@@CreativeCustomsC.C. LOL.
I wanted to buy a 1984 Chevy Camper about 18 months ago and you could smell the photos in that as well.
Animal, wowers
Totally
The closest I've got to that was my 66 C10 short wide, small block 350 RV camed the performer manifold 600 holly , Turbo 350 and Stock 12 bolt rear end 😎😁
Love the truck but if it’s a 66 why didn’t you add the back up lights? Without them my brain thinks 65 or 64. Back up lights were optional in 64 and 65 but mandatory on 66 just like seat belts.
His build
His way
@@Grizzmakes Exactly! Who gives a crap about reverse lights on this beast?
A deaf person could know its backing up it would shake his whole bod
Totally @Gordocarbo
@@gordocarbo because it makes it hard to see while backing up. Backing my 65 in the dark is a pain. Since it’s a 66 adding them is accepted
