    Since releasing this video, I've developed my own Bridal Contract Templates! They are Google Docs so as long as you have a Google account they can be accessed from anywhere in the world :) I also have Bridal Consultation Templates and well as Accounting Templates.

    Loved this video!! I’m a makeup artist in mainly film & TV but I have a few weddings booked for this summer - one app that I use constantly and CANNOT believe is free is adobe sign and fill. I use it for every contract sent to me and I tell other people about it every chance I get. Can’t recommend it enough! I’ll cry the day they charge for it. Haha

    Very informative thank you! I'm just wondering, you know how you mentioned that if a client cancels with less than 4 weeks till the event, they must pay 75% of the total free. How is this enforcible?, and how would you actually get them to pay that to you? I imagine that they would just block you and move on, no?

    • @julieruby
      @julieruby  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey this is a great question! Luckily I’ve never had a client not pay. This is why it’s important to have contracts since they are legally binding documents once signed. You can technically take them to small claims court where they’d be responsible for lawyer fees and also paying you. People usually don’t want that much of a headache so they’ll most likely pay you if it came down to that.

    • @julieruby
      @julieruby  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha It'll be okay I promise!!! I don't share my contract word for word just because it's personalized to myself, but don't feel discouraged! I know it can be super overwhelming, but just take it section by section.
      I think I've changed my contract maybe 6 times in the last 3 years and I've now finally gotten it to where I want it. It'll always be changing depending on different things that you may think of or things that happen in your career so your first contract won't be perfect and that's okay! :)

    Julie I have a question, Have you ever been late either because someone gave you wrong directions. I know generally people use GPS but it still can happen because maybe they said they would be in 1 place and you had to trapse around looking for them because it was a big place and they were not where they said they would be?

    • @julieruby
      @julieruby  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes that actually just happened recently but luckily it all worked out because the bride wasn’t there yet either. However, it still is your responsibility to double check with them before you show up to a location. If they give you the wrong location though hopefully they should understand that it was their fault. The only thing you can do at that point is try to shortcut the apps a little to make sure you still get done on time.

    I have a question about your cancellation clause, and I hope this makes sense when i type it out lol.
    So you said you give clients up to 4 weeks to cancel assuming they book you 4 weeks before their event date. My question is, what if you get booked as like a last minute thing, do you take last minute clients and what is the cancellation policy and fee for that?
    Scenario:
    Let’s say there were issues with the first makeup artist and the client finds you and wants to book with you, but it is outside of the 4 weeks. Not saying that this has or will ever happen, but let’s say they book you two weeks from their event date, then end up canceling before their event date!

    • @julieruby
      @julieruby  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      London Clark Wow this is a really great question! I will say that I normally don’t have the availability to take clients within a month (I’m usually booked up several months in advance) so personally I’ve never had to deal with a scenario like this!
      However, if this were to happen to me, my cancellation policy for the 4 weeks period would still be valid since it’s in my contract that way no matter when they book. I hope that made sense!

    • @julieruby
      @julieruby  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! A lot of the questions that a bride may need to know is actually on the FAQ section of my website so a lot of the times the only thing I’ll have to talk about with them is pricing :). I’m not sure if that answered your question or not!
