- Found this footage of the show from over a year ago that I never uploaded so here it is. The final 13 minutes of the film and concert. Conductor Ludwig Wicki did a fantastic job leading The Munich Symphony, Pacific Chorale, vocal soloist Kaitlyn Lusk, and the Phoenix Boys Choir in a full symphonic performance of Howard Shore's score for The Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of The Ring. This performance was on 10/23/2011 at the Power Balance Pavilion in Sacramento, California.

I think I'm gonna see The Return of the King in Germany this spring, it's the most affordable option for me. Too bad they don't do the whole trilogy in Europe, but I'll take the single one over nothing.

boromir died in honor, facing his king at the last moments of his life. in that last moment of your life you realise what kind of a person you are. boromir was truly the son of gondor and a great warrior.
men fall to the power of the ring. so did boromir. in embarrassment, thinking that he failed his own heart he gave his life for a pair of halflings. fought through arrows stuck in his chest and regained his honor. a true hero’s farewell. a true hero is not the one who uses special powers to defeat the evil. a true hero is the one who gives and risks his all for a good cause. thats who boromir was and thats why his was the saddest death in all of films

I don’t think I’d say Thorin’s death is better but I don’t like all the criticisms I’ve seen of The Hobbit movies . Yes ,sure , there were some things left out and that could’ve been better but even the LOTR trilogy left shit out . I actually really enjoyed the hobbit movies. Plus they play right into each other and match up with LOTR. Like the whole troll scene in the hobbit and then Sam in LOTR saying “there’s Mr. Bilbo’s trolls” after Frodo was stabbed by the Witch King . And there’s others as well. I also loved how you’d quietly hear the songs that were in LOTR come in at parts where it made sense in the Hobbit. Like when the rings on camera in the hobbit you usually hear the classic LOTR theme song for the ring . Also at the end of the Hobbit when Legolas’s father tells him to go find Aragorn you hear the trio’s classic theme music that plays throughout LOTR during times the trio is on camera . Little things like that. Plus the way they did Smaug was outstanding also. They definitely weren’t bad movies I don’t get how people can act like they’re somehow horrible .
That being said ? I find the LOTR trilogy to be one of the greatest trilogies of all time if not THE greatest.
@HungLikeALemur The LotR trilogy is not perfect by a long shot either. They left and/or changed stuff as well, for example the scourging of the Shire was caught in just a glimpse in Galadriel's mirror for only a couple of seconds, the death of Saruman was completely inaccurate in the extended version, and in the theatrical version, which is like you said the one we all saw first, his character was completely omitted and was one of the reasons Sir Christopher Lee left the original trilogy with a bittersweet taste. I could go on nitpicking and mentioning the myriad of things they did not add or happened off-screen put that would be petty and completely unnecessary because they are still great movies despite all that not to mention you simply cannot add everything the books contain into the big screen. So I don't really get the whole Grima redo you are talking about and in my honest opinion the pacing was great and all in all it was good trilogy.
Frankly when I hear people that complain about the Hobbit trilogy and compare it to LotR, my guess is they had high expectations of watching a similar story to the LotR trilogy and they got disappointed, but just because they don't like it and it wasn't what they expected does not make it a bad trilogy.

"I would have followed you my brother...my captain...my king!" Still the most powerful scene in the trilogy IMO. The moment Aragorn realises, that there is a higher goal for him and he has to take this path.
Indeed. It is the courage and words of Boromir, that inspire Aragorn to accept his destiny. It took this as much as casting the ring into the lava in Mordor to defeat Sauron.

That line is not even in the books.jackson done such an incredible job he really did.
Sean Bean deserves far more love, he was simply perfect as Boromir and did more with a few lines than most actors could do in an entire film.

The ending of "The Fellowship of the Ring" is the most emotional rollercoaster ever presented in film history!
Boromir's death proves that the journey our heroes have embarked upon is beyond perilous and anyone of them may perish due do the dangers they may face.
Frodo's resolve to continue alone to Mordor with the One Ring is admirable. After remembering Gandalf's words that "all you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given you," he knows what he must do and is ready to risk his life to complete his journey.
Sam's loyalty and devotion is immeasurable! His willingness to follow Frodo to the very end is an act of humility and proves his relentless bond of friendship knows no bounds.
Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli deciding to rescue Merry and Pippin from the Orcs to keep the spirit of their fellowship alive is most inspiring.
And let's not forget the music during these scenes! It gives the film such a majestic grandeur that is deserved, setting the tone as hauntingly beautiful. By far, this is one of my favorite endings of the trilogy.
Whomever thinks that The Lord of the Rings films are "just for nerds" clearly has never been stimulated before by a story of courage, love and friendship.

Honestly, i think he would love to see the whole trilogy. I think he would see the dedication, and the sheer ammount of weight that his work inspired. And i can easily see him cry the shit out of these films he could see them.
If theres one thing i know about Tolkien its how much information he put into those books. Hed have bogged down the producers with little details that take away from the actual movies flow. It would have been a worse creation rather than letting true fans interpret his books the way they enjoyed it best.
Idk how he would've felt about the films but I feel like he would have liked the casting and the score
@@Dantelor I agree there were parts that were added that were meh but he would've seen past that at all the minor details aragorn with boromirs grieves. He would've appreciated how much detail was put into it. He prob would've been blown away by the special effects

I did lol seeing the third movie was an INCREDIBLE experience, especially when the tower fell at the end. The theater was packed full and you could just cut the emotions with a knife.

My god, 16 years after I first saw the movie, I have seen all 3 movies 10,000 times, and I still cried during all of this. And like, I was watching random shit and playing video games until half an hour ago.
What a masterpiece. Nothing has ever come close to the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Best movies of all time.

This was quite possibly the greatest moment in all of movie history. You rank moments like this with movies that say so much, packed into about 14 minutes worth of film lore. If for only those 14 minutes, I felt like I was in Middle-Earth, taking on Orcs, chasing after Frodo and failing like Sam. Thank you Gordslinger for posting this. You have brought a little happiness to those that loved this movie, one more time.
I feel the same every time I watch it.
The music seems so elevated in noise, and makes the scene so much better. With how loud the orchestra was playing, you could tell they were into it.

Those eyes just bore into my soul. It's a look of fear, sadness, and just plain despair, as if he's silently begging for Aragorn to help his people, and to forgive him for what he did to Frodo. I always have to look away when I see them; it just wrecks my heart.

Anytime I hear this piece, I get goosebumps especially when the Isengard theme kicks in and you see Boromir, Merry and Pippin are just going at the endless number of Uruk-Hai!
If I am going to rate a movie’s soundtrack with a score of 1-10, I would give it 11/10 because it deserves it. The music of this movie is a masterpiece! But not only that, the whole movie is a masterpiece... screenplay, locations, actors and it goes on. Every piece makes this movie outstanding. Seeing this after all what happened, gives you more than goosebumps.
After seeing this on TH-cam, I wish that I had been gone to this concert in Frankfurt back then but it was expensive and I hadn’t enough money. I hope that they will play it again sometime so I can go and see it live no matter how much it will cost.

The only movies where i like every character, they whole casting was spot on.
I got to see this at the Sydney Opera House. Fellowship was 2011, Two Towers 2012 and RoTK 2013. Was unbelievable.

absolutly nothing wrong with that, as a matter of fact, a friend of mine clapped when he saw the death star destroyed for the first time, and I applauded as well as the whole theater when the train came to a stand still in the fugitive, it was an amazing scene. And for those out there who know music and those that don't, it is really not that uncommon to give your applause for movements of works that you enjoyed having performed, especially if you are impressed and overwhelmed at the performance. It has just become more of a standard in the past one hundred year, (give or take) for the piece to finish completely before you applaud. Do you applaud for a guitar solo at a rock concert, or a great jazz solo? It's no different.
