  • Song "Into the west" by Annie Lennox & Howard Shore (Lord of the rings soundtrack)
Video Material from "The lord of the rings" by Peter Jackson
Made with Magix Video Deluxe 15 plus, 2009
    Lyrics:
    Lay down
    Your sweet and weary head
    The night is falling
You have come to journey's end
    Sleep now
And dream of the ones who came before
    They are calling
    From across the distant shore
    Why do you weep?
What are these tears upon your face?
    Soon you will see
All of your fears will pass away
    Safe in my arms
    You're only sleeping
    What can you see
    On the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
    Across the sea
    A pale moon rises
The ships have come to carry you home
    And all will turn
    To silver glass
    A light on the water
    All Souls pass
    Hope fades
    Into the world of night
    Through shadows falling
    Out of memory and time
    Don't say
We have come now to the end
    White shores are calling
You and I will meet again
And you'll be here in my arms
    Just sleeping
    And all will turn
    To silver glass
    A light on the water
    Grey ships pass
    Into the West
Songwriter: Howard Shore / Philippa Boyens / Annie Lennox

My father passed away three months ago after a ten-year battle with prostate cancer. I remember when my family and I watched both The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films together. Dad really fought hard, but it only really started to get bad this summer, and it wouldn't have done more good to continue the treatments. My dad told me and both my siblings individually about how he was reaching the end and decided to enter hospice care. That was so hard. And a couple of weeks after that, he passed away just shy of his 68th birthday. I feel sad, and like Sam at the end of The Return of the King, I thought, "Dad, you can't leave. How could I be without you?" I felt that the world had lost such an incredible human being, but I was glad that I was able to see him during his last days and say goodbye and that my father is no longer in pain. It also helps me to talk about it and think of the happy memories with my dad because I know that my dad will live on in all his friends and family and in the lessons he taught us. Frodo handing Sam the book makes me think of that. That love will never fade. I mourn his loss and celebrate his life at the same time. I know that the pain will never completely go away. ❤ Living with it will get easier, but right now, it hurts. As hard as it is, there are things I find comfort in and am thankful for, including my favorite stories, such as The Lord of the Rings. When I recently saw the scene of Frodo going to the Undying Lands to find peace, I felt like that's where my father is now: resting peacefully somewhere. He's no longer in pain. Rest in peace, Dad.

This may be a minority opinion, but when I hear this gorgeous song, I don’t just think about Frodo’s departure, I also think about the fact that Sam also eventually sailed West. I imagine him old and wrinkled, newly widowed by Rosie’s passing, his children all grown up and moved on. He hears the call of the Sea in Frodo’s voice and realizes it’s time. The ships have come to carry him home. And Elanor, standing on the shoreline, watches him vanish into the horizon.

I listen to this song and think about my cat, who was 17.5 years old. He died on February 18. Before that, Alexei Navalny died in prison - all the conditions were created for this by the Kremlin. I also think about all those who died in this crazy war that my state started with the support or passive silence of the majority of my people, about my extremely uncertain future. I also remember all the good and bad that happened in my life, not related to the above. And I feel very bad at the same time and for some reason quietly happy, because in this song, in its words, I find a strange consolation in the fact that sooner or later any road ends, and someday my journey will also come to an end.

The only other female singer that could cover this as well in my mind is Floor Jansen of Nightwish

    Good Morning my Friends
    How are you
The True, of the our job is to spread the good news of the Kingdom that we ask for in the Lord's Prayer. And I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses to fulfill a prophecy of Matthew 24:14
And today we Jehovah's Witnesses are preaching in all countries to also conform to the standards of God and his son Jesus.
To come his Kingdom where he will resurrect many who are asleep like his father and bring them back.
And many others who died like the recent young people in Ukraine. That is why I do this work together with our brothers and sisters from various countries of the earth.
And you can also help us for this work okay
