Hey Brett... Ya know what? I am TOTALLY IMPRESSED that you take the time to answer (what seems like) every question someone asks you on here. Ive never seen any other channel do it as well as you seem to. While I dont know how many hours you put into such a thing, Im thinking someday it might end (or at least get less and less) In the meantime.... KUDOS to you bud!
Bought one to sit on my office desk at work. Love it! Sound quality could be better when listening to music but definitely worth it. I'm thinking about buying two more.
I just won a nest thermostat, hello doorbell and hue lightbulb at an event and google has this hub on sale with a free home mini and lightbulb for $99, right on time! I had to come here first, before I make my hub purchase! Lol. Thanks!
Lutron uses it's own hub that can then be directly connected. For Leviton, if the devices connects to wifi it can then connect directly to the Google Home app.
I'm trying to decide if I should get this for my 75 year old mother. All my siblings have android phones but my mother refuses to move on from her flip phone. Have you had a chance to explore how the photo sharing feature would work?
Question for you Brett: I just purchased a home hub and have not been able to figure out how to bring up a recent TH-cam TV recording on it. Ideally I’d like to be able to say “OK Google, Play the most recent “Sports Center” recording on the Kitchen Display” (or any cast-able device in my home). I don’t even see “TH-cam TV” as an option in the list of services (nor do I see regular TH-cam in the list). Is there a trick to getting that working? Have you had any similar issues?
??? If i have the Mini already on network, how can i incorperate this option? I can use this in living room, and use Google Mini nest in bedroom? More then one assistant i heard is fine in same house.
When you click the compass on the phone to search for the hub is it using Bluetooth since it's not until later you tell the hub what WLAN to connect to?

I live in a very small apartment so I don't have much need for this, but it would still be useful. I use my calendar for everything, and having a calculator on there would be super helpful too as I have Dyscalculia. Is it able to play any TH-cam video or is it just the short ones?

Please do a tutorial on routines. It looks like the only trigger for the routines is voice with a time constraint. Does these mean that there is no support for motion or contact sensors? Does the Nest Hello motion detect or doorbell push actually bring up the camera display?
Thanks for an excellent video. Also, greatly appreciate your muting the Hey Google commands. Any idea if Google is considering to add the facility of making phone calls with a Bluetooth headset!

Great video Brett. Right now I have the Google home mini in my bedroom. I've been thinking about getting the home hub, & putting it in the kitchen. My wife likes to look up chicken dinner recipes & such. I figure she would like it if she could follow along with her favorite TH-cam cooking shows.

Brett, I just purchased the Google Home Hub 2 and I wanted to connect it to my Nest doorbell. I don't see the option for Camera on mine, what am I doing wrong?
Sadly they are not compatible with each other. I'm not sure what other devices you already have but now is a good time to decide if you want to stick with Google products or Amazon devices.

In most cases, I highly recommend using a smart speaker, it’s the same as the smart display but the assistant is always responding verbally. Trying to have my calander show on home screen on my Google home hub ...not sure how to do this..it is showing weather and calander in video and I don't have that showing and trying to figure out how to do this
For the soothing sound part, you chose the ocean sounds. I was wondering if it has fireplace? Like a visual picture of a fireplace and the crackling sound like Netflix has.
Oh my Holodis... I mean this in the nicest way : You really should do your research on google on the whole smartlights thing first before asking this. It will save yourself (and others) lotsa time. I cannot see my upcoming appointments-reminders that I have set up. It states to change my permissions in the app. Cannot locate where to do this though.
Two questions. How do I delete things from the calendar, and when will they add the ability to ask a second or third question (promptly) like on the home mini, and not have to again say the activation phrase?
Hello, is it possible to have Google home 2 devices as example one in bedroom and another in kitchen and on same Google account? Thank you@@TechWithBrett
if it could be move from room to room, than wifi reception is very important....what if one's wifi does not reach a upper stair bedroom, where you would like to set it up as an alarm clock? And for music, is it like Echo, you have to buy a subscription?
It has a strong WiFi but it might be best downstairs. You can listen to Pandora or the radio without a subscription but those options are also available.
I have already in use with few amazon lightbulbs which are controlled by Smartlife apps it works great with HOME MINI. However, I cant see the drag-down menu in the HOME HUB contain my light control... anyone can solve this for me? I bought my HOME HUB for that little control pannel but it doesnt come up :/

Two questions. How do I delete things from the calendar, and when will they add the ability to ask a second or third question (promptly) like on the home mini, and not have to again say the activation phrase?
You would need to go to your calendar app. There is no word on if the continued conversation feature will be coming yet.

if it could be move from room to room, than wifi reception is very important....what if one's wifi does not reach a upper stair bedroom, where you would like to set it up as an alarm clock? And for music, is it like Echo, you have to buy a subscription?
It has a strong WiFi but it might be best downstairs. You can listen to Pandora or the radio without a subscription but those options are also available.
I have already in use with few amazon lightbulbs which are controlled by Smartlife apps it works great with HOME MINI.
However, I cant see the drag-down menu in the HOME HUB contain my light control... anyone can solve this for me?
I bought my HOME HUB for that little control pannel but it doesnt come up :/
Can Google home make phone calls in all countries?
Is it usbc or micro USB?
