My friend and I have developed, what I think is a pretty good theory of how Spectrier and Glastrier relate to each other. Clearly, how they are handled, they reference the concept of specific details of a story being lost and muddled over time. Nobody could remember whether the horse was black or white, and thus, the horse's true appearance shows up depending on which carrot you choose. Some would say that once you pick one of the horses, the other one becomes non-canon in your game, but I don't like that explanation... Our theory is, well, look and the horses' eyes. Spectrier shows its left eye, and glastrier shows its right. This has given us the impression that the two of them are two halves of a whole Pokémon, similar to how Kyurem works. But, why did they split? Notice that the Crown Tundra was said to not always be a frozen wasteland. It's implied that when Calyrex was around, it used to be warmer, and more habitable. Maybe, once Calyrex was split from his horse, and disappeared, the horse died from exposure to the new, harsh environment. Glastrier represents the lifeless, frozen corpse of what the horse used to be, while Spectrier is the vengeful spirit, which has lost its body. That's just an idea, I suppose.

Both horses pertain to winter in some fashion, Calyrex after all is a fertility god tied to seasons. I never took that Calyrex had only one horse but a par of horses that he swapped between depending on what was needed for the task at hand. People only saw him on one horse at a time hence the contradictory accounts. I also believe that the legendary birds lookalikes are heavily involved with Calyrex.
It’s actually almost confirmed that glastrier and spectrier was once one. If you go to the Mayors house in Freezington (crown tundra city) and you go to his bookshelf and read “King of Bountiful Harvest’s Royal Steed” it says that they were once ONE
For the first time in a long while, hearing the mash up in game actually made Calyrex feel really dangerous and the custom mash up here exagerates that and it still speaks volumes, to my emotions, and my headphones. This was a done good, and this makes me actually fear it more, like something can go wrong at any moment, or its a true final battle that we didn't want, but needed.
