Exactly. He has no chance of getting other employment now. The first thing a potential employer would find in the background check is countless videos of Nick acting emotionally/mentally unstable, extremely passive aggressive and all around awful. And then they’ll throw his resume in the bin because nobody wants to deal with an employee like that. So Nick’s stuck on TH-cam, and he keeps upping the stakes on the craziness and drama...which only makes him even more unemployable.

Actually, anger is a COMMON sign of depression in men, who are socialized to reinterpret all seemingly "weak" negative feelings (sadness, pain, loneliness, etc.) as anger.

    • @FeuerblutRM

And there happens to be a strong correlation between clinical depression and a calorie-dense yet nutrient-deprived junk food diet.

@@clubpenguinrockie My comment was less about it being a obvious statement and more of it being factually inconclusive. Anger is not necessarily a “bad” or “negative” emotion. Anger is quite necessary. We are socialized as in via media and conversations to think of it as negative which is not what it is exactly. Nor do men think of sadness, pain, or loneliness as weak, men just think a form of action or reaction to what is making you feel those is more valuable than doing nothing but feeling those emotions. Anger just happens to motivate action. Mere correlation.

He might not have been completely healthy when he was skinny. Skinny isn't always healthy. Some people naturally don't put weight on some do more than others.
But why is it when someone puts on weight everyone gets upset for them.
Some people are proud of their body have never had to work for it in their life, and then make fun of fat people for being lazy. We should treat overweight people with dignity no matter what. Obese people should be encouraged to better there's elves, not bullied or shamed

So regarding dementia, I have a story to tell about it. When my gran was in her forties, she and her older sister (two years older I think, if not more) were told that if they didn't change their diets, they would end up with type 2 diabetes, high BP etc. Her sister changed her diet and life, my gran didn't. My great aunt is now in her nineties and still pretty damn healthy. My gran didn't change her diet, ended up with type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. After a decade of this, she developed vascular dementia, and although she technically survived for fifteen years post diagnosis, my gran was gone long before that. She could have prevented that. Part of me is angry at her for not looking after herself, both for her sake and her grandchildrens' sake. I never got the chance to know her when I was older. I unfortunately don't have many memories of her, but I miss her desperately.
Don't do what my gran did. It's not worth it to put yourself and your family through it. Dementia is one of the most awful diseases out there and makes you act in ways you otherwise wouldn't. My actual gran would never have shouted at or hit me. But my gran with dementia? Really fucking violent.
Edit: To clarify - I'm not saying a bad diet causes dementia. I am fully aware that in many cases it is genetic or simply happens. I was simply sharing my own story of how a family member neglected their health and how it destroyed our whole family. I apologise if this was upsetting to anyone or it made you feel like I was negating your experience, I was not trying to do so.

I remember growing up when I had dinners with them, he would have to have a whole bunch of drugs and needles to help him. His kidneys were really bad and due to his poor health, he died from a staph infection.
As for my grandmother, she was very healthy, but she recently got diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Luckily, since the disease was caught early by the doctors, she is now taking the pills to stall the disease.
They did have to take away her license due to her condition, but she is still sound of mind and still remembers us at least.

When you can prevent dementia, you should. My grandma has dementia and, although she is still very sweet, she's not really here anymore. She's wasting away because she barely eats and she can barely speak in sentences. My grandad has been in denial about his diabetes for about a decade and now has dementia too, and he has these furious outbursts. Antidepressants help but only if he remembers to take them.

I don't like people saying "if you only did this you could prevent dementia". Sure, as a whole the risk might be lower if you eat less fatty foods. But you can't tell if that's true for your grandma. My dad ate healthy, was very much not overweight, and got dementia at a young age. That sh** just happens to people sadly.

@@CainXVII my Fran's doctor told us her case was caused by her high blood pressure and uncontrolled type two diabetes. Maybe it wasn't the case for your father but it was for my gran. She absolutely made her health worse and refused to control her diabetes, forever eating sweets and her blood sugar was out of control. Her doctor explained that her out of control blood pressure, caused partly by her refusal to take care of herself was causing microstrokes in her brain leading to the tissue dying. In her case she literally caused her own dementia. She could have prevented it.

What is crazy to me is that while he only gained 150lbs since starting mukbangs, almost all of it is stored within his belly. From what I've seen in those who gained weight gradually, the fat will usually disperse throughout the body with a bias towards the midsection for men and hip/thigh area for women. You can see that because of his diet, his body is prioritizing pushing the fat within the near vicinity of his digestion meaning his midsection and the organs within it are probably just as bad as someone who is 1.5x to 2x heavier.

Once I had it so severe, I needed to take meds for half a year and only eat one bowl of cooked rice per day (or cooked potatoe)... R'amen! I've dipped my toes in the same boat, trying to lose weight only to fall off the wagon multiple times. I'm renovating my kitchen and doing a deep dive into my cabinets for the reorganizing, throwing stuff out that isn't doing me any good. Food was always my comfort and my enemy, and as I got stressed more and more, junk became my staple. I'm stepping off the rollercoaster, though, and organizing my life around healthy eating and activity, so the urge to eat junk has tapered off more and more. Can't wait to start losing weight again. These vids of this guy just sicken me--the sheer waste of all those nutrient-deficient calories make me never want to eat anything from fast food again. I watch Kiana's vids when I have those cravings for terrible food, and it reminds me of when I was in the midst of anger and depression. I want to be better than that, and have been taking the steps. He's not acting, I know that because it happened to me, except I'm not stuck in an awful diet, I'm stuck in a toxic environment and had to act like an unemotional grey rock to ward off dangerous acts from my %@#!&$, and it eventually got to me that I can't feel my emotions cause I repress it. I know he's not acting cause I also had anger and violence spikes where I'd punch the air and am also irritable.
Worst part of it all is that you're aware, and watching yourself act SO STUPID, and you don't have any idea what to do about it. You trick yourself so that you believe it never happened and dissociate.

That’s actually the same thing that happened to me. I was going through some really heavy stuff a few years ago, so i fabricated a happy go lucky personality to use at school. It ended up messing up my life, because I was playing the idiot ditz who is all cheery, and that resulted in me losing my friends. I was also obsessed with deception after the heavy stuff, so even once it was mostly over, I just kept acting like a ditz. My friends got tired of me and people at my school got tired of me too. I didn’t even need to act happy anymore but I just couldn’t shake that weird fake personality until 4 years after I made it. It’s kind of ironic because I’m just now getting to know myself because I kinda lived my life as a lie for a long time 🥲

I've been fighting severe depression ever since I was 9 years old and I have to say, food plays a large part of it. At least in my case (but I assume also in many other cases), there is always a big desire for comfort food. But the truth is, eating unhealthily or too much only makes matters worse. I'm not saying healthy eating is a panacea, but unhealthy eating can for sure lead to depression worsening. My symptoms have recently got worse (brought on by the stress of college, mostly), and while I still need to talk to my doctor about a larger dosage of meds to manage them, just cutting out sweets and limiting breakfasts to one bowl of oats and a banana has had a positive impact.
