That is another lovely painting , I am curious about what paper ypu use to press down the scrapings. It reminds me of doing monoprints.

This is a Tracing Paper, you can also use plain office paper.
The goal is to paste the pastel crumbs into the sandpaper.
So that it does not crumble.

I know you mostly work with Rembrandt and Sennelier soft pastel sticks, but what brand of pastel pencils would you recommend? A brand that can be sharpened to a fine point and that doesn’t break in a mechanical hand crank sharpener. A brand that also has a wide array of colours for both portrait and landscape.

Jay! To be honest, I use pastel pencils for the sketch and final accents.
I have 2 sets of "Derwent" (old and new series) of 72 pieces in each set.
I am pleased with them!👍

What kind of paper you have used? Can soft pastels be used on normal drawing sheets?

Ananya! I use ordinary sandpaper, granularity 1000.
Water resistant, size 23x28 cm.
I buy in the building store.
Normal drawing sheets for soft pastels is not suitable.
Need a pastel paper or an abrasive sheet.
It is also better to use toned paper, not white.
