    Ha ha, yes there it is! Welcome to the Cloudburst club 👍 I was kind of doing what you describe at the end before I got this pedal. Boss SY-1 into the Boss RV-6 in shimmer mode. It got close, but the ensemble mode is just something else, such rich layers of harmonics. You can just play a couple of chords and have it sound epic.

    I'm loving mine. Using it in stereo in the signal chain with TRS insert cables. Really liking it with acoustic guitar tones. I'm finding that the really aggressive forte setting seems to favor more of a strumming pattern and the milder ensemble setting seems better suited for single picking lines and finger style work.

    I got the Cloudburst a few weeks back and am running it in stereo on the Quad Cortex. Absolutely love this pedal. The larger ambient tones and the ensemble mode are killer. Great that you can dial it in for lower & smaller settings too, really versatile.

      I have had my QC for a few months and I had the Andy Timmons Halo pedal just before I bought my QC. I sent the Halo back but I am now missing that pedal big time and the Cloudburst has me thinking... I would love one or even both of these pedals! I like my QC but I think it is weak in the Time Based Effects realm.
      I would love to hear your thoughts on this. How are you using the Cloudburst in the chain? Are you using it in the effects loop? Thanks.

    • @sleepingatsea3420
      @sleepingatsea3420 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BrianVallotton while I do like and often use the QC delay/reverb FX there is definitely room for improvement so it makes having some other pedals worthwhile IMO. In the QC FX loop I am running Microcosm > Starlight > Golden Reverberator > Cloudburst - all in stereo. These are great sounding pedals that give me a lot of sounds I can't get on the QC. Also if I have them set how I want, I just need to add the Loop 1/2 block on the grid and it's all there. Saves a lot of time vs setting up individual reverb/delay blocks!

    Nah man this thing in stereo sounds WILDLY better than in mono IMO. I love mine but Forte mode sounds really strange with acoustic. I got to play it in stereo with the Dig delay and it was the most luscious tone Ive ever heard. I'll admit though, the cloudburst isn't the most practical thing for high gain rock stuff but it still remains amazingly clean and clear if you keep the mix at or under noon and don't go crazy with the decay.

    So at nearly $300, for about $500+ more you can get a lightly used FM3. It's a no brainer. The days of single pedals is about over. Modern modelers are mostly superior. For around 800+ you can get a used FM3 that will blow away this peddle. It contains dozens of high quality effects, amps, cabs, looper, reverbs, etc. Now, if you can afford it, go all in and get a FM9. I just got mine and it's an amazing bit of kit. I would have to by 100 pedals to be able to do everything I can in this single footboard. The quality is really high.
    IF I did need a small, highly portable pedal, it would be the Strymon El Capistan. The FM9 is a bit big and heavy. I strongly considered the FM3 which has a much better form/weight factor and lower price but it lacks 50% of the power and 6 footswitches. I have zero regrets. Now, even with 9 footswitches and plenty of power, I realize I need all of it...and almost then some. I much prefer the form factor over the AxeFXIII rack- though that with a FJ-12 would be great but also near twice the price of my FM9.
