OK, I've been watching too many witch-related things. Because I just keep picturing a woman being dragged to the stage as to be sold and instead start screaming curses at everyone in the room who had ever owned or sold a slave in their life or who purchased a slave that day to never know a peaceful nights rest (either being plagued by nightmares or being unable to fall asleep at all) and then to slit her own throat to mark the curse and so that she'd never know the agony of being a slave. It would have been better if 'The Magician' Basil Hawkins was there instead of Kidd or Law though I'd be curious to see their reaction to it, I wonder if Hawkins would be able to read it to see if would work (not sure how he views curses), if he'd be impressed by her dedication to kill herself to try and make it true, or if he'd even be frightened by it. But this isn't even that kind of a story so it would be out of place.
