I live about 15 minutes from the factory in Cleveland in the beginning of the video and can confirm that gunshots are completely normal to hear regardless what time of day it is lmao. Nothing creepy at all for us, just a normal day in Cleveland. The only things you'll find in abandoned buildings are homeless people, drug addicts, and raccoons. And sometimes homeless drug addicted raccoons.
That poor woman living in the farmhouse genuinely upsets me. She seems almost completely hopeless with her situation and continues to live that way under the belief that there's no other option, despite the amount of help offered to her. I hope she gets out of there and into somewhere cleaner and safer, she needs all the help she needs.
She clearly needs mental health help. She lives like that because she feels like it's all she deserves. I feel bad for her. She should be entitled to have a council house there, but shed rather live in squalor. I feel terrible for her.

Truth. There's some skepticism as to whether or not ghosts even exist, let alone are capable of causing harm to people but we know for a fact other people can be dangerous.
That's the main reason I couldn't do urban exploring. I find it fascinating but I'd be too frightened of stumbling into a drug gang hideout or a crazy homeless dude or something. Ghosts don't frighten me, they aren't real. But crazy people are out there.
So he saw the creepy guy in the corner that came straight out of the Blair Witch Project and thought "Oh yeah I'm just gonna keep on exploring", turned around and leisurely kept walking. Jesus Christ... Then half an hour later he goes back, the dude is not there and STILL he doesn't run? This is why people die in horror movies...
The guy probably just didn't want to be bothered, most likely mentally unwell or on drugs or both. If some rando came into what I believed was an abandoned building and started shouting "yo" at me I'd probably ignore him too until I found an opportunity to get out of there

I can understand why people living in these places react aggressively. I would be terrified if I found shelter in some abandoned place and suddenly heard people walking and rummaging around other rooms. Homeless people are at a high risks of becoming targets of violence.
yep. homeless people are some of the most vulnerable and least protected people in our society. homeless women in particular have the extra threat of being sexually assaulted, and they have even less avenues to seek justice than a woman with more privileges. no one cares about homeless people, no one sees them as human. it’s sickening. they deserve compassion and empathy.
Absolutely. People don’t squat in these places hoping to be found by an explorer, they are trying to find safe shelter away from strangers. It’s one of those “they are likely more scared of you than you are of them” types of things. That’s why I sorta have an issue with some urban exploring to some degree.

Yeah, that's one rule A LOT of urban explorers don't use, never explore at night! You are 100x more likely to encounter squatters, and it is also way harder to see hazards like caving in floors or ceilings, some places tho can only be explored at night, and you either have to risk it, or don't go at all sometimes.
I've actually watched enough of these videos to know that if a blanket or curtain is hanging over a door, it means someone lives there and to not disturb. Almost always when they look in a room like this either someone is there and quickly makes it known the explorers are not welcome there OR it is obvious someone has been there and will probably be back!
Especially at 18:50 - like, explorer dude, it literally says "Keep Out" on the door 😅 Pretty rude of the guy to continue into the room and then try to move the curtains

As someone who squatted difficult buildings for about 8 years, I can confirm squatters will be agressive to outsiders... but not because they are inherently agressive or dangerous. Its a tactic used to create public fear, thus keeping wandering teens and vandals from welcoming themselves in. We used this method most notably under the freeways in Toronto. I remember us scaring a kid who was filming us, he tried to run when we approached him but fell. He was a nervous wreck, so we helped him up, took him back to camp and cleaned him up. He was thankful and apologetic... and after revealing why we did it, he promised to tell his friends a crazy story about us. It was weirdly heart warming.
I squatted for years I sadly stopped at 405lbs 3x5. I think I’ll try and get my sqauts back up again soon actually. I only can do 315x3 right now and I am ashamed of myself and can’t call myself a squatter right now.
I really appreciate the empathy you give towards the squaters/homeless persons perspective as well. The majority of channels that do videos like these treat them like they're monsters, and that has always disgusted me. Great video!

The old lady living in the abandoned farmhouse is very depressing. It's clear she has some sort of mental health issue and it's sad how there are people out there living like this without any help.

Gotta say, the farmhouse situation is more common than you think. There are a lot of older people who refuse to leave their homes, despite no longer being able to keep them up. The properties become more and more run down to the point of looking abandoned. My own uncle lived that way during the last years of his life. He kept saying he was going to restore the house, but no progress was ever made. He slept on the couch in the living room with a hot plate and microwave on a side table. The shower was broken, and the only running water he had was from the bathroom sink, which is also where he did his laundry. The really sad thing is, he didn't have to live that way. When he died, we learned how much money he had...

As someone who documents abandoned buildings, these are always my favorite topics. Reminds you to always keep your guard up, you never know who or what you may find. Great video!
Can attest, we used to go to the house where my father grew up to harvest some berries before the building was demolished since my grandfather had planted that tree(it was huge). The possibility of us putting a bullet in the head of a squatter was quite high (they didn't knew we were there since we always take a spec ops approach to things like that exactly for those reasons) but they were definitely the kind to jump on you the moment they see you.
@@WouldntULikeToKnow.You're putting words in the person's mouth. They never said they shot unsuspecting squatters. The fact that John in the last video didn't immediately leave when he heard sounds and walked towards the light that turned on makes me think that maybe we're too hard on the decision-making abilities of characters in horror movies.

In some countries, people can fire a document to the government to get the ownership of abandoned buildings and properties nobody else wants for free. I have seen this in far east Russia, where my in-laws live. There are many abandoned villages and small towns and saw people renovating an old apartment building in the middle of nowhere. The downsides are that it's very remote and no electricity or running water. But there are plenty of natural, clean water sources free of pollutants and Diesel for a generator is inexpensive. Internet and cellular services work via satellite. People can live self sustained and it prevents from buildings falling apart or become criminal hideouts. I don't live in the U.S., so i don't know if there are similar regulations.
@@hyperturbotechnomike The US has 2 different things that are somewhat similar. You can get free land to use as a homestead in some states, it's similarly remote, but it doesnt come with free buildings. 23:51 "I've been hearing stuff upstairs, but I'm hoping....and I really mean this, i really hope that it's paranormal" This statement alone tells you that the unpredictable nature of humans is so much more terrifying than any paranormal spirit/activity.
That last place was obviously under renovation and not at all abandoned. He should have recognized that and backed out immediately, it's even got working lights as you can tell by that last shot where the guy upstairs yells, that isn't lit by his camera or you'd see shadows cast by it, it's lit from ceiling lamps. The guy yelling might have been the homeowner just asleep in his bed after a long day of fixing his house and woken up by this guys trespassing. That's not kosher by any urban explorer rules.
Your right, his aggressiveness indicated to me he was the home owner, I’ve been in a similar situation (as the guy that yelled) and he reacted the same as I did.
Urbex Hill has nerves of steel. He's experienced both supernatural and crazy folks in his explorations but just carries on as normal. He carries a gun but he better hope he's never outnumbered.

I really liked this video. At first with the thumbnail I was worried it would be one of those obnoxious videos about top ten whatever, but I was pleasantly surprised. The video was very straight to the point and informative. I will definitely be checking out more of this channel
I've been both a homeless squatter and an urban explorer at varying stages of my life and will attest it can be scary when a stranger shows up at my squat, though mostly because I'm worried it's the cops lol. I would usually announce myself in both situations when in places and thought someone else might be there, but maybe that's just cuz I've been a squatter too. Don't want to scare anyone who might already be there.
I was thinking announcing yourself would prevent more confrontations than it would cause. If someone came in and said something like "I don't mean any harm, just looking around and will leave if I am not welcome" I can see how that prevents problems. Worst thing is alerting the person to your presence right? Walking around a pitch black building with a huge light is doing pretty much the same thing anyway.
I used to be homeless when I was young, it's really uncomfortable to feel like you don't belong anywhere, even if people want to help you out your guard is still up all the time. So I used to go to a neighborhood that had this narrow streets and lots of houses and would just sit on a sidewalk and fall asleep. Sometimes people startled me and I tried to let them know I didn't mean any harm, just wanted to sleep somewhere where the wind wasn't blowing so hard. So thank you for mentioning that, I know it's not the same but we don't have the luxury of big bridges or sewer systems or even abandoned buildings, you have sidewalks and benches.
If that lady in the farmhouse is well taken care of, how come complete strangers like Meg and Chris can just step inside? Also, she seemed weirdly calm about seeing strangers in what would be her bedroom.
My idea to why she was as calm as she was is because in the video it mentions that "workers on the farm" bring her food daily, so she could've thought chris and meg were the farm workers bringing her food, checking on her etc?
It's more than likely that they go to these places in the daylight (possibly even getting permission first), learn the layout of the area, make sure it's empty and then wait until nightfall to make a video. All of this shit is staged dude. Don't be so gullible.

yep. homeless people are some of the most vulnerable and least protected people in our society. homeless women in particular have the extra threat of being sexually assaulted, and they have even less avenues to seek justice than a woman with more privileges. no one cares about homeless people, no one sees them as human. it’s sickening. they deserve compassion and empathy.
Absolutely. People don’t squat in these places hoping to be found by an explorer, they are trying to find safe shelter away from strangers. It’s one of those “they are likely more scared of you than you are of them” types of things. That’s why I sorta have an issue with some urban exploring to some degree.

I love your compassion and understanding for the homeless people in these videos. Along with explaining the dangers of exploring abandoned buildings.
Thanks for mentioning the squatter's point of view. I was also thinking they'd be just as startled ny someone suddenly appearing in their place where they probably thought they were pretty hidden. It's gotta be just as creepy for a homeless person being somewhere like that as for an explorer. The explorer is actually more prepared to run in an instant.
Very interesting.
Homeless people are some of the most vulnerable people on earth. Being homeless especially living on the street is terrifying. TERRIFYING
Maybe thought someone was going to hurt them.
@@hyperturbotechnomike The US has 2 different things that are somewhat similar. You can get free land to use as a homestead in some states, it's similarly remote, but it doesnt come with free buildings. Abandoned buildings are normally sold, but they're sometimes pretty cheap if they're remote, what often happens is people stop paying the taxes and the state repossesses the land and building, then sells it to pay the debt.

After the 2008 recession, I got a job where I was required to enter foreclosed homes and take photographs of basically every room and certain key items of the house. They were all completely different, from houses that looked like the owners had just left to completely run down building. Would never do that job today and I am shocked I did it for two years completely by myself. One rule my boss told me and I always stuck with. If the front door is already unlocked, do not go in.
Christ. Was 2008 this bad for America?
@@Ezio999Auditore Yes, excessive mortgages and lending broke the banks and stocks plummeted, lot of people lost their homes ,and house flippers bought them up and made them inaccessible to all but the richest realtor companies who just sat on them with a high price. Oh yeah, another factor for the recession and uptick in homelessness was the moving of manufacturing overseas, lot of industrial areas lost most of their business and people were laid off in huge waves. But that was a slowburn since the 80's, too. tldr you can blame a lot of shit on Regan for this.

I really appreciate the compassion you show towards homeless people instead of immediately villainizing them. Yes, they can be dangerous but they're people and not some monsters out of a creepypasta.
They very, very much can resemble 'monsters out of a creepy pasta', though, is the issue. The fucker in the factory in this very video for a very obvious example, but even that aside, drug addicts can be just as easily terrifiying as any monster.
The way he describes the reason for their actions is really good. They are probably also scared when someone shows up, they are in more danger than the average person and their home is something they need to defend and not rely on the law so I totally get why they would get aggressive even if they don't mean to go towards violence.
I was wondering while watching the first video if one of these explorers would be less likely to be confronted if they announced their presence when they enter and say something like "I don't mean no harm, I am just looking around, if I am not welcome I will leave". I can imagine some people wouldn't confront if they weren't caught off guard.

@@DeathBlocks Exactly.
That farmhouse encounter is something straight out of Resident Evil 7.
