Transients definitely don't just stay in the cities. There are a lot of mentally ill people out in the woods. Even way, way out in the woods. Sadly, this is only one reason why so many of them go missing and are never seen again. Untreated psychosis is no match for hypothermia, wild animals, starvation/thirst, and falling off heights.
Absolutely! I’ve been a psych nurse for a decade and work with schizophrenic patients full time. I have no doubt he’s schizophrenic. They’re not as dangerous as Hollywood wants to make them seem; however, when their ramblings get into paranoid delusions, be careful. It takes no more than a second for them to decide “you’re one of them!” and you get attacked. Unfortunately, the writings this guy left (I zoomed in and read some) were paranoid delusions.
Yeah, as soon as I saw that part of this video that's immediately what popped into my head. Brother is schizophrenic, and the few times he lived with me, or near me, it was the same deal. Tons of weird drawings and writings-and by god, don't get him talking or you'll be stuck there for two hours. Doesn't surprise me that this person is transient either: My brother preferred being homeless sometimes.

Our criminals are not bothered going to the woods 😂 but once, I remember camping in Glendalough with a friend from, two of us teenage girls in a very secluded area, sharing a tent. I jolted awake when I heard the tent zip begin opening from the outside extremely slowly, I nearly wet myself… it was my friend, who I didn’t notice had left to go piss lmao
You don’t know fear until you’re in the woods on a moonless night and hear something lurking. Your hair truly stands up on end and you feel like you could pick up and throw a fridge. It’s the most primal feeling ever, you feel like a wild animal.
I camped on a native reservation in the American southwest. Had an uninvited visitor… scared all the feral dogs away and pressed something (stick, finger, whatever) along the sides of the tent. I am pretty sure my soul was taken that night but I’m alive and can comment on TH-cam.
City person here. I've never been out alone in the woods, or any nature wilder than a wooded hill, and I don't have to have been to be sure that being dead of the day or dead of the night in the middle of the wilderness, sounds all around you that you can't quite decipher and no amenity or comfort anywhere, being alone amidst animals who are *right at home*, and without any of the trappings of civilization that would help you defend yourself against those animals, would take me back to the Paleolithic faster than I'd pee myself and possibly attract some hungry feline. I' d suppose one feels like a wild animal becausee scratch the clothes and fancy stuff off, and we *are* wild animals, and not even the most physically well equipped to deal with predators, not by far.
I live in the Appalachian mountains. Going into unknown parts of the woods all night without a gun is basically just asking to get killed. Beyond the normal predators like bears, coyotes, and mountain lions, there are drug labs, pot fields, and distilleries everywhere. The people who run them have zero issue shooting at strangers who come upon them, for fear they’ll tell authorities about the location. Bring weapons if you plan to camp or hunt out here. Lots of them, if possible. This is not a place to be a pacifist.
its fine if u just camp at regular camping site where you pay for a ticket and there are guards or fences around. But in actual wilderness, better to gear up and never travel alone
the "i see you" and "uhh hi" is so unhinged it gave me chills.Like umagine being alone in the woods not having half a fuck to give about your life.Fucking badass
that wasn't necessarily dangerous at all. drug abuse or homelessness has eroded this guy's social sensibilities, so he didn't say goodbye. then he comes back and his new friend is gone, having 'accidentally' left a valuable piece of equipment which he probably took the ethically dubious but understandable decision to take and sell for drugs/booze/supplies money. he didn't act violently or threateningly at any point.

If you look closely at the note written at 1:26 the person described themselves as being a suspect of the Scott Lilly Murder which happened to be placed perfectly next to bird with its neck broken. I looked up Scott Lilly and he was murdered in 2011 while hiking on an Appalachian trail. Just knowing that the possible murderer could have been out there watching this person film it all is just beyond freaky.
Yeah that’s my uncle, Bennett Lee, he lives at 614 Grass Memorial Road in Greeneville, Tennessee, no one in my family really likes him, they say when he was a kid, he was working on the family farm when the horse kicked him, knocking him unconscious and sending his head in the water trough. We all know he killed that girl, there just isn’t enough proof for the police to act, now he lives a rural life in that old house his dad built. Even in the US there are a lot of places where it’s illegal to possess firearms like most state parks, government buildings, places that serve alcohol, etc. But yeah, there are alternative weapons like knives, pepper spray, bats, bows, crossbows, a hammer… you can actually even buy ”pulsefire” flamethrowers. Also "black powder” guns aren’t considered "firearms” ..so there’s no sense in being completely unarmed.

Humans scare me more than anything else. Being stalked and harassed inside your tent while lying vulnerable would be absolutely terrifying. I’ve always carried when I’m out camping or hiking and it’s not cause I’ve ever feared an animal. Animals are logical, even if we misunderstand them. Humans aren’t.
The only reasons animals could attack you is either they think you're food - which is not only absurdly rare, but you would have to really go out of your way to convince them such, or because you provoke them. Humans...Don't kill other humans because of either reason. Sometimes just kill to kill, and that's way more terrifying than any potential animal attack.

Someone who survived a kidnapping attempt here: Best thing to do besides trusting your gut and leaving before anything happens, because it's absolutely right and someone is watching you, is tell them you're recording them- LIVESTREAMING them. The possibility their face will be difficult or impossible to wipe from the internet is enough to make a lot of people back down. They don't want to be tied to whatever they were going to do to you, so they may flee before they can do any crime in the first place. This is giving them the option to definitely get caught, or leave you alone now. If they believe police are already on their way, there's more than one of you, they're currently live and being streamed, all the better. But rather than just empty bluff, you may want to also stream, download, record, call police, factually as well. Because on the off chance they continue their attack, someone will be on the way or evidence will be captured. Never, ever, tell them you're alone, vulnerable, or scared.
This advice is all well and good but me and a buddy of mine (we’re both grown men) were walking through the woods one time and a man who was all on his own, dressed head to toe in grey, a black balaclava and gloves (with his hood up) stalked us for 10 minutes. He wasn’t trying to scare us either, he was going to great lengths not to be seen. With a bit of quick thinking, we managed to haul ass out of there but the point is, saying you’re “livestreaming” doesn’t really work if they’re wearing a balaclava (which a lot of halfway competent criminals with bad intentions will be).

This exact thing happened to me and my buddy and it was every bit as terrifying as you’d expect. We were walking through a forest trying to find our way to the main road, when I realised a man wearing a baclava and gloves was following us. At first I thought he might’ve had his reasons to be out there but then he started following us through the woods, even when we changed direction and doubled back on ourselves. He was so covered up in his sleek all-grey outfit that I couldn’t even tell you what race he was. Best way to describe it is that he was dressed exactly how you’d dress if you needed to get away with a crime and couldn’t be identified. Didn’t know at the time but a man was executed in those woods not long before that either. Gives me chills just recounting it.
That is good though cause it means they know they,'re being recorded or live streamed Which might save your ass if they are afraid of a record of their activity
@@mckenzie.latham91 A camera will never save anybody from anyone with bad intentions and spreading that idea can unfortunately get people unalived. Nobody can help on a live stream and can only send help which is many minutes or hours away and only if they know where the person is and if there is any police or rescue services in that area at all and internet access in the wild is rare to begin with and filming to record will do nothing as they would take the camera after they are done doing what they want to do. Best to either stay quiet and hide or run or stand your ground, show no fear at all, and throw down or use force multipliers if need be and that is only an option if the person knows how to fight and if the person has and knows how to use said force multiplier(s) as bluffing only works sometimes with some threats.
I had this friend who would go camping and fishing nearly the entire month of July, always starting on the 4th. This year, he was somewhere in the Ozarks to watch the fireworks by the landing. The night of July 5th, he kept hearing someone screaming and calling out, "I see you". He had nothing but a knife he bought the day prior, so he tried to stay silent and listened for footsteps while trying to pinpoint where the sounds were coming from. But being around trees, hills and a river, sounds tend to bounce and echo. Around 4am, something hit his tent, making him yell out that he had a gun (even though he only had his knife). When the voice said, "Hello", he realized that it was coming right next to his tent and sounded more like a child. So he unzipped the tent and looked, thinking that maybe a kid got lost or something. But... nothing. No one was around. Scared and fed up, he started to pack up. That's when he saw something white. A cockatoo. The day before, some family lost their cockatoo after the fireworks scared it off. He only found out a week later when walking around Branson landing and the owner of the bird called out and walked up to him, asking where he found her.
@@SigmundROIDSyeah the problem with that line of logic is that it’s asking of a fear to be rational and to be treated as such for the entire population of a gender. They're a weird mix of running right through a bunch of human civilization, while also being remote realtive to the surrounding areas because of the terrain. With tenacity one could take the Appalachian Trail all the way from Georgia to Maine - it's over 2,190 miles (roughly 3,500 km) long. Crows can mimic human speech just like parrots, and crows that live near trails or campsites tend to pick up phrases just like this. It probably learned "I see you!" from kids playing in the area. (City crows can pick up phrases too; look up "crow swears at man" or "crow you alright love" here on youtube to see some more examples!)
I grew up in VA and basically spent a good portion of my life in the Blue Ridge mountains. The forests and mountains can be scary af, no supernatural things needed.
And don’t say “I’m leaving don’t follow me”💀
How did you escape darling? Hope you were unharmed?
This advice is all well and good but me and a buddy of mine (we’re both grown men) were walking through the woods one time and a man who was all on his own, dressed head to toe in grey, a black balaclava and gloves (with his hood up) stalked us for 10 minutes. He wasn’t trying to scare us either, he was going to great lengths not to be seen. With a bit of quick thinking, we managed to haul ass out of there but the point is, saying you’re “livestreaming” doesn’t really work if they’re wearing a balaclava (which a lot of halfway competent criminals with bad intentions will be).
Live streaming does not work out in the middle of the wilderness. Lot of places still do not have any sort of reception.

No joke. Your profile pic scared the hell out of me in return lol. It took me forever to realize it was a raccoon because all I could see were the White markings next to his nose and from a distance it looks like a monster with pupilless eyes
It was a mockingbird, if that helps at all. They do a bunch of different calls, including that one. He will have startled it with his light.
@@SomethingSomethingg I no joke thought it was a bear. Ears as eyes. I thought you were crazy "Monster than raccoon on whats clearly a bear?" lmao humbled myself when I clicked it.
😂 I'm dying here lol
@@mikesanders8621that did not sound like a mockingbird
Why do I always end up on these kinds of videos at 2am when I am home alone
The algorithm be like 'I see you!'
me watching this video right before going to bed: fuck
Currently me 🙋♀️
same honestly
I've never felt so called out before.
WHAT IF!
the guy who was stealth camping yelled "I SEE YOU!"
And Creepy Outdoors heard him yell that 🤯🤯🤯🤯😲😲😲😲
Update Edit: You could definitely hear the nervousness in the big guy's laughter when he was talking about the guy who came out of nowhere and asked for a light and food. That laughter was filled with anxiety. You can always tell a nervous laugh!👍🏼😳I've never had so many likes on one comment. Could we please try to get to 1000? It would be a first.🙂👍🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Omg exactly brooo.. dang!
Yeah I figured that's why he's filming the guy, pretending to be Vlogging. Pretty scary.
Agree. I think he was filming just for a record.
About 3/4 mile from my home 😱😱😱
@@fairlyvague82Ah, so it wasnt that much middle of nowhere
Watching this at 1am in bed. That “I see you” part scared the shit outta me. Great vid. Not clickbaity bs at all. This is the real deal.
not really
Not clickbaity at all lol. Ok.
@@ababafgatg dude, if any of this shit happened to you, you’d shit your pants
Same here. The best stuff to watch when you're tucked up safely in bed 😂
Bro scared TF outta me
If I was the 3rd camper and heard someone shout "I see you" in such a voice I would have sh@t myself and died on the spot from heart failure. That was definitely a human voice.
Yep. Id definitely shit myself! Sad, but true.
I'm shitting myself now. Can't stop listening to that creepy ass voice haha
Fairly sure someone already debunked that one pretty hard. So u got git by editing
@@Necoy666 I like horror movies too. Fine with me
bro shit happened as soon as his light turned off too so sketch
More of these camping, forest and urbex encounters please!
I’m so glad I’m laying in my warm bed and not camping right now 😂
Interesting. I feel the opposite. Would much rather be in a sleeping bag on a hillside somewhere.
Guess you haven't watched this channels other videos where creeps are sneaking around people's homes.
@@tranilator I will watch them now
@@eighteenfiftynine I was joking I go solo camping for weeks in the wilderness
I'm under your bed 🛏️
The guy who said " I have a knife" did everything wrong. The worst thing you can do are showing fear/weakness in front of a psychopath. Easier said then done, I know.
Yup, what you gotta do is act calm and reasonable. Make it show you are calm and reasonable.
You gotta seem like you ain't scared at all.
also, letting him know you have a weapon at all yet alone just a knife and not a gun. very poorly handled.
If your going to stab someone you ain't going to announce if first...that's a shit bag...
Okay, how do you respond when someone is circling you, touching your tent, and have that tent fall on you. Then, they chase after you?
Should’ve said I have a gun
Americans going to Walmart: "lemme grab my ak47 real quick"
Americans going to camp at night alone in the middle of the woods: "lemme grab this pepper spray real quick"
lol. It’s because you’re statistically more likely to be bitten at Walmart than in the woods.
you cant buy an ak or AR anymore in walmart , store policy doesnt allow weapons like that to be sold anymore , wish i could buy an ak w my employee discount tho
Walmart is unironically probably more dangerous than the woods lmao
Every walmart in the usa dosent sell modern sporting rifles ie ar and ak platforms, shit you cant even legally buy a ar or ak in washington state anymore
Humans are unpredictable after all.
Videos like this is the reason why I have never gone camping and never will.
