Chromosomes hold DNA molecules that's where DNA are found and DNA contains protein called histories genes are genetic molecule in inherited from parents to form daughter cells
Wonderful intro to the subject, even for a non-biologist like myself! And I don't believe there's anything more pleasing to the ear than the word 'protein' spoken in a Caribbean accent :-)
Its actually a combination of both levels just to give an overview of the relationship between the three components. For CSEC you need to know about chromosomes and just the basics about DNA and genes. The detailed look at DNA and genes was a simple summary of key points students should know for CAPE (advanced Biology). CAPE goes in to much more details about the structures and functions.
Kemar Walker Hey, I recommend that you enroll in the HSB full course on my website which has all the notes for the entire syllabus in addition to video tutorials and past paper solutions videos. Please visit cxc-biology-tutor.teachable.com for more details.
So EACH chromosome has a *SINGLE* double-helix from EITHER mom or dad? And the DNA has 2 strands: chromatid and sister chromatid, but there's no ONE double-helix (2 strands) that contains both a dna strand from mom, another from dad? And when a gene gets expressed, is the epigenome selecting between the mother chromosome contribution, or father contribution *EVERY* time? Similarly, how does your DNA get passed to your children? For example, how do you generate the single DNA of 23 chromosomes from your pool of 46 chromosomes?
@@bellsnow3875 Please don't be discourteous I don't prolong situations like this. Yes, I have a distinctive understanding of Proper English. Finally it's not criticism it's just you not understanding the way how she speaks.
DO YOU UNDERSTAND IT? Tell me in your own words, the role that chromosomes, DNA and genes play in heredity.
