You're the best, Dude! We really enjoyed your presence on the show. Would love to hear your reaction to the E11 scene where you vow to not swear when you catch a fish and then you drop 5 in quick succession when you do, indeed, catch that fish. We were rolling.
To be honest, the way you talk and the rest of the things on you and around you, make me think 95% that you are the winner of Season 11. You don't have to approve, or deny it :P :D Thank you for the good content and those great videos that you are making and uploading ;) Greetings from Germany
Great Q & A Dub! I always love to learn more about the behind the scenes of Alone, and to hear what the contestants have to say after the show. Looking forward to your next Q & A!
Dub, we really enjoyed your description and sharing how you uniquely dealt with the temptation to "hit the button". when you talked about a tiny hole poking through, then a finger sized hole, and so on. So many ways that is a life lesson, especially in relation to addiction. Being honest with yourself is both vital and one the biggest challenges of humanity. Love your sense of humor, and hope you find someone special to share your life with! I believe there is someone out there created just for you and I pray your paths cross in God's perfect timing! blessings to you!
Dub, me and my buddies get together every week to watch alone. As an avid angler, you impressed the heck out of us. Best fisherman to ever be on the show hands down. If your ever up in canada in the ottawa area id love to take you out and chase some Muskies. Legendary effort
I do a lot of hiking (doing the Appalachian Trail). I permethrin all my cloths. Works amazingly well. Kills all ticks. You can actually send your cloths out to get it done professionally and the cloths are good for 70 washes..... Love your channel. I will watch all of these as long as you make them.
Nothing is totally tick proof. You must check yourself constantly. My great friend almost died on the AT from lyme disease. He fell down a Mountain due to a stroke as a result of lyme disease. Be careful and good luck.
Thank you for making this! I can’t get enough of all the details of the show that we don’t get to see or hear. One question though - were you able to stay off of nicotine after you got back home?
I just watched the Season 7 finale (Kielyn taps, Callie medically evacuated, Roland wins) on TH-cam. The episode made me want to ask you these two questions: 1. What lessons did you take from the 10 prior seasons of Alone that informed your preparation? 2. What are your thoughts on igloo as a choice of shelter for Alone...particularly for your season's location?
I’m sure I learned a lot from previous seasons. I tried to absorb every mistake I saw on the show. One mistakeI saw was people building huge shelters and taking way too long to build. There was atleast one person who had a few logs stacked on day 40. I wanted to grind out a shelter fast so I could focus on food. As for the igloo, I considered that. Often times it doesn’t snow a lot in the early season, by the time there was a lot of snow, would I have the energy after living under a temporary tarp? Not sure. I got my shelter pretty knocked out in under a week. Now I can wait for snow to fall on it and help with even more insulation. I really wanted a beefy shelter fast for bear protection, because they are still coming by every night almost. Overall, my shelter was pretty good, albeit small during the latest episode. Now I do have the time to focus on food.
Question: How did you take care of first aid during your time on Alone? I don't mean the serious stuff that requires calling for medical intervention. I mean the kind of minor injuries for which you'd normally use the kind of standard first aid kit you take for granted when camping.
HI, Alone provided a small first aid kit with gauze and such, you might have seen someone use in the first episode. This kit is only to be used for first aid, no bushcrafting allowed with those items. I cannot say whether or not I used it or did any type of wilderness first aid without giving spoilers. Dub
@@dubgonewild Thanks. I saw Cubby use a compression bandage because of his arrow accident, and he mentioned that it was from the first aid kit that the show provides. Follow-up questions: You said "small" FAK. Does the show give refills for FAK items that you use? Or is the FAK you start with all you get from Alone for the whole contest? Also, what else does the show provide to the contestants? Alone ought to list those items on the show's webpage.
There are definitely times I feel more at home in the arctic after getting back. I can think of more than 1 times in the last few months where I said, F all this. I’d rather be grinding in the snow right now where I only need to worry about food, water and wood.
Do you have that feeling of regret i know you was feeling like you would. I also think william would of stayed as long as it took and the repairs you did on your glasses was great
U had the most desire to win! But unfortunately fishing and food ran out. Your lure was good Poor timber gave up ; if he had cut up his jerky into tiny(so his teeth didn’t hurt) and boiled or steamed it to soften it, I bet he would’ve won as he had 2 weeks meat supply and by then bill might have given up as his fish luck was running out too Bill never showed any sad emotion, Weird. And he did have an advantage being from harsh brutal winter area. Used to it. But if they had the show in swamps of Louisiana he would’ve been a fish outta water. But his ice chest was smart
What kind of things were you told you couldn’t do? What kind of food sources were off limits? I’ve never seen contestants forage under rocks at rivers edge for something like a crayfish.

Haha, I forgot to not swear once the fish put up a bit of a tussle. I went straight back into fighting for my life mode
@@dubgonewild We loved it and were so happy for you. I hope you are well, Dub, you're clearly a wonderful dude!
Hands down my favorite contestant, your energy is 🙌🏻
Wow, thank you!

It sure is! Thank you 🙏
You are never ALONE...we love you dude
This is what I could listen to for hours.
Good to see a contestant from Michigan on the show! It's a pleasure watching you hope you go far!
Thanks so much! It’s been many seasons since a Michigander was on. Hope I make you proud!
You killed it out there and you were fun to watch
Really smart making sure you didn’t have any unresolved stuff at home leaving you to be free of those thoughts while you was out there.
So proud of you, Dub. You have True Grit. You were 100% yourself and you should be proud too! ❤
🙌 Thank you!
Dub I have a feeling about you. You seem to be very comfortable with discomfort, and very very motivated by the money! I'm so excited for this season!
I loved watching you on the show, Dub! You were amazing!

You did great man, super tough the whole way.

Thanks! I’ll keep making them. Have used permethrin some, but have never experienced ticks in that area before. It’s a bad year in MI! Dub

I might have dabbled in vaping 🤷♀️
I'm trying to figure out how/why you have those Flintstone looking glasses?Awesome fix 😅👀
Thanks for the great content! Looking forward to seeing more.
We live in St Helen!!
Totally routing for you man!
Thanks for creating this channel.
So glad to have some Northern Michigan neighbors following this journey! Thanks for watching, Dub
Fantastic man looking forward to your alone journey
If you do another a&a could I ask here? Did you need to sharpen your swiss army knife? If so, how often and how did you do it?
Airyca, I’ll answer this question soon in a quick video. It’s a good one, Dub
Great post… appreciated the AMA / Q&A

❤❤❤ Great video.
very exited to watch this season, was it the swiss army workchamp you brought?
Have a great day :)
Yes indeed!
Les stroud as a stand in vs all the other mortals
Did you have to get hunting and fishing permits for the region?
Yes indeed! We followed all local laws out there.
What do you miss the most once you're back home, from the wilderness?
There are definitely times I feel more at home in the arctic after getting back. I can think of more than 1 times in the last few months where I said, F all this. I’d rather be grinding in the snow right now where I only need to worry about food, water and wood.
Which brand are your red survival pants through?
Those are Fjallraven Vidda pro. They are pretty old, not sure if they make that color anymore. They’ve been very good to me over the years!
Do you have that feeling of regret i know you was feeling like you would. I also think william would of stayed as long as it took and the repairs you did on your glasses was great
Im betting Dub won

Was there a thermometer available to tell contestants the daily temperature?
No, we definitely didn’t have that!
What kind of things were you told you couldn’t do? What kind of food sources were off limits? I’ve never seen contestants forage under rocks at rivers edge for something like a crayfish.
No crayfish in the arctic, not even earthworms! We could shoot most game besides caribou.
the guy that killed the bear on season 11 didn't win...why did he quit?
No bears were shot on season 11 mate
I saw u almost win u changed so much
Yes, it was strange watching myself evolve out there as the show was airing.
I wonder what happened to your glasses. There are a lot of studies on fasting helping body functions. I wonder have your eyes improved?
Awesome
Thanks for watching Greg!
