When I found the sea shanty in dead space. I always played it when I got peace.
That time of year when we look back at the best Easter eggs of the year... And then look harshly upon the other games for not trying harder.

Here are some ones that you missed that i feel like deserve praise
1. The Droid painting room in Jedi Survivor
2. The Octane/Lifeline interaction in Apex Legends in the firing range
3. The armor suits fighting in Hogwarts Legacy
4. Page Not Found referencing you (Captain) in Geometry Dash
5. DLC 808 interactions in Hi Fi Rush
6. Golden Gnomes in Powerwash Sim Lara Croft (I know i helped with this, but i also like how it plays the secret finding sound fx from Lara Croft)
7. Overwatch 2 April Fools (Reason being the whole cast made new ult voice lines just for one day, and the funny new mode on April 1st)

Just for any who didn’t know, the shanty was a reworded Wellerman
It sounded very similar to the infamous "Tendy-man" song from the WallStreetBets subreddit that was made at the time of the GameStop stock rocket...
6:05 It's definitely supposed to be Guile, the zombie has tattoos on his upper arms in the same place Guile has. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren, and Duke Nukem do not. Plus, his outfit is very similar to the Street Fighter character, not any of the others.
The clothes are of Guile, the hair is too close to Ivan Drago though

well another eggcellent year past so fast, time is runing man
For that Lake Haven - Chrysalis easter egg, when you inspect the car in Silent Hill, the main character would say something about a bad odor coming from the trunk, which I believe is a reference to one of the endings of Silent Hill 2, where James stored his dead wife's body in the trunk and drove into the lake so he and his wife can be "together again"

2023 hasn't been the best year for easter eggs, only a few decent ones.
But one of the best for gaming in terms of releases (Less so for developers with the layoffs)

If you liked the sea shanty bit, try hearing The Longest John's shanties. I'm pretty sure they were the ones who performed the one in the game, since they have a particular style of singing.

i have a suggestion, theres this game called streets of rouge, in this game your main goal is to get to the final floor and become the new mayor by taking the current mayors hat
so depending on how you take the mayors hat, (stealing as a thief, murder, chloroform, etc) the game will have a slightly altered ending
also if you beat the game without any means of speaking you will get a special ending for that to
btw the game wasnt released in 2023

and depending on your means of obtaining the hat will have different text after your characters big speech

Hey Captain Eggcellent, I have a submission for your “hidden video game details” that you may not have covered yet, it’s in Resident Evil 4 Remake’s Seperate ways DLC, just before Ada Rings the church bell, she says a line “stood up again” in reference to Luis who she was there to meet, and when she rappels to the bell tower, she’ll say another line “sounds like he needs a little help” in reference to Leon, in that moment you can actually see a Ganado Carrying Luis in the sack we find him inside of in the main story, walking behind the black barred fence at the bottom left of the screen

Hey I may have found something fun for you.
Fortnite.
If you have the toy emote soccer ball, you can use the soccer ball kick on soccer field section of the map. You can score goals, and the score board will react. When getting to 7 points the score board will reset.
If you don’t have a soccer emote there is a ball that spawns in the middle and can be moved to goal
In Red dead redemption two when i through a fire bottle at a tent it made little hole, something that i didn't know

Also, im 27 rn, when i was about 13, 14 i played Crysis 2 (might have been 3) i found an Easter Egg all on my own 😊 There is an elevator u can open and when the door opens there are 3 enemy troops dancing underneath a disco ball xD i was gassed i found it. Couldnt believe my eyes.

Amazing you all aren't coming up with the most obvious answer for the Dead Island 2 Easter egg here. That's very obviously Ryder White, ya know, the MAIN ANTAGONIST OF DEAD ISLAND 1! Lmao, I should not be getting this angry over this, but that is literally the only person that could be to me. Literally a nod to the 1st installment of the Dead Island franchise.
Obviously this is not down to the captain as he just shows us the easter eggs but the easter eggs this year were dreadful and this video proves it
