I was expecting him to talk to about the Jedai which were users of both the dark and light side of the force. They technically have everything in balance, and if a person was lean to much toward one side they would send to one of of the two moons which represent light and dark. And how people that were leaning to much to the dark side wanted more power therefore causing a civil war between light and dark.
I wish he talked about the Je’daii, who were the predecessors to the Jedi. They balanced the dark and the light side, similar to the Dai Bendu or the Grey Jedi.
Yes, he spoke of Ashla, but not of Bogen. The Dai Bendu were the true predecessors, as well as many other groups of ancient Force Sensitives, to the Jedi. And he got his order seemingly reversed. First the groups arrived on Tython, and THEN came the Infinite Empire. Before, the earliest Jedi studied both Dark and Light, Ashla and Bogen...after the two MOONS of Tython. It was after the Empire's war that the early Jedi purged the Darkside from their teachings, believing those who used it in the war went too far. They did it out of FEAR. This led to the First Great Schism, and thus the Dark Jedi were exiled, and would later become the first Lords of the Sith. Theory tried, but I guess he never read the comics, and this this was incomplete.
I'm personally glad he didn't, actually. The Dawn of the Jedi storyline was a convoluted mess, in my opinion. It added needless aspects to the Jedi's history that somewhat contradicted other parts that came before it, all for the sake of adding credence to a misunderstanding of the nature and duality of the Force. The Grey Jedi were not an organization unto themselves. The term "grey" was originally used to describe any member of the Jedi Order who were willing to disobey the High Council, or at least didn't conform to the typical Jedi standard. Members like Qui-Gon Jin, Plo Koon, and Quinlan Vos are notable examples of Grey Jedi, and it should be noted that Quinlan Vos is the only one of the three that I mentioned who actually dabbled in the dark side. The light side and the dark side of the Force just don't mix, and any balance that is achieved, if it's even possible, would be temporary.

When you get carried away with lore, you start jumbling events and characters but God do I love it. Everything about Legends Lore is glorious. Disney sitting here take the lore and twisting it or incorporating it into Canon and passing it off as their own to the new generation. It spawns so much fury in my soul knowing that literally every generation after this one won't even really know what Legends Continuity was. I honestly feel their Canon is going to collapse and get so much hate that Jar Jar's hate was just a tease of true hate. And in the ashes of the Canon ashes will rise Legends 👀
If you read darth banes books it shows us that a jedi would take on chancellor of the republic. And many jedi were kings and governors of worlds. But that changed and the jedi take a step back.
The New Sith Wars is what you speak of. During the Republic Dark Age this was very true. This lasted for hundreds of years until the last hundred when the Republic and Jedi put all their resources to finally defeating the entire reformed Sith Empire (this is after the first in the 1,000 year war collapsed to infighting). In the last decades of the conflict a Sith Lord known as Lord Kahn formed the Brotherhood of Darkness where every Sith under his command had the title of Darth. This unification actually helped the Sith infighting problem a lot and led to many Sith victories against the morale restored Republic. By now, the Jedi Order was more militaristic than ever and had battalions of warriors again to face the Sith head on. As the Republic Troopers and Sith Troopers clashed in the forests, mountains, grassy plains, swamps and space the Jedi and Sith duked it out with everything they had for 10 years straight. And in the end of the conflict, Jedi Master Lord Hoth (actually held the title Lord) battled the Brotherhood of Darkness to their last on the planet of Ruusan for the last time (7th time) and won before being wiped out with the remaining defeated Sith by Darth Bane's insidious plot to commit genocide on his own kind to rebirth the Sith Order. Dang, this was a lot of typing 😂😂😂
Jedi order: we have no attachments. We love all Student: but don't we need to be attachments to life to love? Jedi order: ...the dark side has corrupted you. Thus began the jedi civil war
I hope are kidding! Jedi forbid attachment to single individuals. You can't have a love and respect for all life if you hold a single being above all of them. When you think like that, you become very selfish and self serving. You would happily sacrifice other to see that one being safe. Think of Jedi like medical doctors, They care about your well being, and will do everything they can to help you, but they don't love you passionately. They would not be able to do their job if they did.
The Je'Daii, who blanced Ashla ( named after the white moon of Tython) and Bogan ( Named after the dark red moon of Tython ), Light and dark, existed before contact with the Rakatan Infinitte empire. Reakatan "Force Hounds" found the Je'Daii on Tython and that was the first contact between the 2 groups. The Je'daii weathered all encounters with the infinite empire until it collapsed. Then came the great Schism, in which factions began fighting over philosophy and the 2 factions began to favor one aspect of the force over the other. One side favored the Darkness of Bogan, the others the light of Ashla. This was when light an dark fought and light won out. the practitioners of Bogan, the dark side that survived, where exiled, while the Je'daii focused soley on Ashla, and became the Jedi. Those exiled would discover the world of Korriban, and then come to rule over its force sensitive natives. The Sith.
I would love to see them go back to when force sensitives were using metal blades and then leading up to the first light saber. They could do a great homage to the early Shaolin Monks way of life doing this I think.
It may mean nothing to you, but thank you for changing how you end videos. I really enjoy your videos and the knowledge you share in them, but the old ending drove me up the wall. I can now enjoy the entire video rather than waiting for me to skip to something else.
You mention the first hyperspace explorers... a video on them would be interesting. In the original film, Han explains that a hyperspace jump requires very careful calculations so that you don't emerge into the middle of a star or something. But how could you make such calculations if you don't have a map of the galaxy? Did the first being to jump to lightspeed slam into their planet's moon?

I hope we see Revan again similarly to how we see him in Legends, however, I think Disney could take the opportunity to make his character more linear. I think his character was for the most part perfect, but when he split into two beings, I think this caused problems.
One of the most enthralling aspects of the GoT series was the connection with the children of the forest, the night king and those ancient origin stories. I think it would be great if Star Wars included this type of plot in the next saga by talking about how the light brought about the dark, and vice versa
The early force books were interesting, though they leave a great deal of history out. There isn't a good deal of written about what brought those first force users to that sector other than the space craft that somewhat abducted force sensitives from all over the galaxy to take them there.
this is really interesting. i'd like to see more of the old republic from your perspective Star Wars Theory. if Disney want to make more star wars movie, at least centre them during the days of the old republic and not after the events of rise of skywalker and pray that they stay true and respectful to George Lucas's original source material unlike what they did with the last jedi... Wow, this was great! I'm not a die-hard Star Wars fan, but I certainly enjoy it and I played KOTOR on Xbox and enjoyed learning about that era. So it was even more fascinating learning about this even earlier era. Thanks!
After they were tricked into destroying themselves in a effort to destroy the republic and the Jedi through an ancient ritual presented by Darth Bane...He was the sole survivor and he initiated the rule of two I think this was after he found Revan's holocron
Playing Knights Of The Old Republic, it shows that the first Jedi weapons were viroblades, which was steel swords enhanced with a force field, which then later, the Jedi learned about harnessing energy through curtain crystals, which led to the creation of the lightsaber. When I saw both the 'Darksaber' and the blades used in the Han Solo movie, my immediate reaction was "those are viroblades".
Yeah we will! Legends does have some inconsistent parts, but overall is better than what Disney is currently writing. The Legendary Old Republic shall live!

The gathering on Tythan actually happened before the defeat of the Infinite Empire, according to the Dawn of the Jedi comic series.
I love that music in the background
Outstanding job... keep these coming... too bizy (NOT lazy) to stay on top of this.. THANKS!!!
I know you produce so much great content already, but I would LOVE to see you do a play through of the old KOTOR games. Cheers.
I completely agree with that
Patrick yes
It's a great premise, history, wrapped in science fiction. Tech Wars....a great pastime!
"We're keepers of the peace, not soldiers."
Jedi order: we have no attachments. We love all
Student: but don't we need to be attachments to life to love?
Jedi order: ...the dark side has corrupted you.
Thus began the jedi civil war
I hope are kidding!
Jedi forbid attachment to single individuals. You can't have a love and respect for all life if you hold a single being above all of them. When you think like that, you become very selfish and self serving. You would happily sacrifice other to see that one being safe.
Think of Jedi like medical doctors, They care about your well being, and will do everything they can to help you, but they don't love you passionately. They would not be able to do their job if they did.
That's an entirely plausible scenario too lol. Jedi family relationships must have been some seriously distant affairs, in more than one era too.
The Sith aren't fond of love either. Not for the selfishness but the fact it may lead to mercy, the worst thing a sith could do.
Very interesting. Btw i love the background music
Jonnic you know the name of music?
Don't say sorry when you get a little carried away ^^ your passion for the franchise really shines through when you do
I'm a simple man, I see SWT I click!
It may mean nothing to you, but thank you for changing how you end videos. I really enjoy your videos and the knowledge you share in them, but the old ending drove me up the wall. I can now enjoy the entire video rather than waiting for me to skip to something else.
Tell me why I’m vibing with this background music rn tho
At 2:36 😳 a Flying Rancor... I want no parts of that...
4:33 funniest part 🤣🤣
Keep these kinds of videos coming. They are awesome.
A shorter explanation than I could have managed. I'd have gone off on tangents, or flourished it out with important details(this one in particular).
A long, long, long, long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away
Or, 'A longer time ago, in a galaxy farther away...'
I love these videos very informative and discuss the universe of Star Wars with those who respect the lore of old with that of the new you inspire me with your videos because I'm Autisitic and this is my obsession and you help it remain strong my own spark!
Would i like to see a movie set in the Old Republic...?
Yes
Would i like Keanu Reeves to play Revan...?
Hell Yes
Am i afraid Disney wild fuck it up...?
Yes
keanu as Revan..YES and then Vin Diesel as Malek
They did good with The shows so they might do good
@@gamingwithryan2.071 So true... So here's hoping 😄
Will Filoni and Favreau be involved?
Just no tom cruise or willow.
Superior narration. Great visuals and cool azz music. Love this presentation.
Our civilization is a “technologically advanced dark side civilization”
Just waiting on that "plague".
Annnny time now.
Yes. It's dark side manifestation is it's 'legal' murder of unborn children.
@@MajinBuuButtercup COVID-19?
@@catremihut Yep. I wasn't joking.
@@MajinBuuButtercup Also it seems our world’s Valorum was just removed from office after some baseless accusations of corruption.
We’re close to facing a Clone Wars of our own.
I absolutely love in-depth lore on the origins of the Jedi, so this is quite appealing.
Whats the background song?
That shit is so nice
great videos explaining star wars history an staff , u edit it great , background music great .. really takes me deep into it .. good job keep up i live it/love it
I hope we see Revan again similarly to how we see him in Legends, however, I think Disney could take the opportunity to make his character more linear.
I would love old republic movies dating back hundreds or even thousands of years before episode 1 it would be an interesting movie topic
MORE 👏🏼 OLD REPUBLIC 👏🏽VIDEOS 👏🏾
Great work ! Keep the old repub coming.
More old lore videos? Yes please! :) Anything pre-Disney works for me! :-)
Yes please keep this series going!
Hopefully Disney brings back the ancient Jed'aii and their philosophy of achieving BALANCE between the Ashla and Bogan facets of the Force.
A film about the old republic would be great
My wish for an Old Republic movie series is the Mandalorian Wars, and Revan
I would pay to see that in theaters, in a heart beat. Outside of references and flashbacks, I don't think that story has been told in detail
Thanks for the message. May the force be with you.😌😁
this is really interesting. i'd like to see more of the old republic from your perspective Star Wars Theory.
if Disney want to make more star wars movie, at least centre them during the days of the old republic and not after the events of rise of skywalker and pray that they stay true and respectful to George Lucas's original source material unlike what they did with the last jedi... Rian Johnson and kathleen kenedy...
Unfortunately other than a few books in legends that's really all there is
those 3 star wars disney made was an absolute nightmare. cringe the whole 3 films. such a shame.
Excellent, I really enjoyed your summing up of the progression on the Jedi.
I’d really like to know more about Darth Revan and Revan after the end of KOTOR I.
It was a great game that I played many times, & was really disappointed when KTOR II only mentioned Revan & Bastila in passing... it to was a fantastic game in its day.
Ah it's so refreshing to see legends content can you do more legends vids please?
4:34 security for my new empire lol
Your videos are the best as far as Star Wars thoughts, ideas & tales. I watch tons of SW videos but this is the only channel i subscribe to. I would love to see a video about the rise of the rule of 2 & the history of the war with Darth Bane securing his place in Sith history....or perhaps a video digging deeper into my personal favorite Jedi Master.....Plo Koon!! Keep em coming man. Thanks for all that you do. Good stuff 👊
WTF look at 0:08 I thought I saw R2D2's great grandfather.
This is T7-O1, look it up on Wookieepedia.
@@ddashung R2"s cousins from the hood
4:24 i think the map is wron tatooine is near geonosis and naboo is far away. In ep 2 obi wan reaches with his signal to naboo to find anakin but fails so he tries a larger area and finds out he is on tatooine wich means tatooine and geonosis are further away than shown on the map
They are heading towards the Mandalorian wars, this is what everyone wants to see.
Wow, this was great! I'm not a die-hard Star Wars fan, but I certainly enjoy it and I played KOTOR on Xbox and enjoyed learning about that era. So it was even more fascinating learning about this even earlier era. Thanks!
Good morning all the way from Mexico may the force be with you always my Lord
This is a really fun video! You make it seem like its real history..
I’m a simple man, I see SWT video I watch, them it’s about the OR I like. Wish you would’ve talked about Tython planet but maybe in the next Video? 🙃
CMDR Respawn you mean tython?
Suyash Gaming I don't know what you're talking about.... :3
CMDR Respawn you mean The force nexus Right?
Please do more videos like this, this was awesome
You left out that the first je-daii would send those who strayed ,to one of two moons around tython , ashla or bogan.
Bro just do what you do what ever it is no questions asked all of it is badass
It would be cool to see a prequel to the prequel that showed how the sith went into hiding and the old republic was formed
After they were tricked into destroying themselves in a effort to destroy the republic and the Jedi through an ancient ritual presented by Darth Bane...He was the sole survivor and he initiated the rule of two
I think this was after he found Revan's holocron
Playing Knights Of The Old Republic, it shows that the first Jedi weapons were viroblades, which was steel swords enhanced with a force field, which then later, the Jedi learned about harnessing energy through curtain crystals, which led to the creation of the lightsaber. When I saw both the 'Darksaber' and the blades used in the Han Solo movie, my immediate reaction was "those are viroblades".
Disney will use ides from legends and claim them as their own.
So true
Don't worry, we as rebels will fight back
Yeah we will! Legends does have some inconsistent parts, but overall is better than what Disney is currently writing. The Legendary Old Republic shall live!
Wouldnt be first time they have. Case in point Kylo Ren is Jacen solo in a nutshell
That’s call Plagiarism
The Jedi Order's first major mistake was joining the Republic, they should have just kept separate.
SWTOR is a great game and Disney could learn a lot from the cinematics and storytelling...............
Andrew Reeve KOTOR and KOTOR 2*
Cool video. It goes along with the books I've read over the many years.
Would love to see a series of the Sith's origin.
Have you looked at the Journal of Gnost Dural? There's a video version on youtube and it's a lot of fun to watch. Covers this very topic and more leading up to the Great Galactic War, just before SWTOR
