My Mom has been diagnosed for about a year with Alzheimers Dementia, but has recently displayed Parkinsons disease Dementia where when she walks she is very careful and bent over and her hands shake alot. I have told her doctor and they have some exercises they have given us to do together. I think she has Lewy Body Dementia because of her vivid hallucinations. She sees a tall man in black with a straw hat, a tiger with black and white striped wings, and bunnies on the floor and leaves are birds to her. Also, she acts out her dreams. I have seen her pet an animal that is not there. We have an eye appt this week to see how her eyes have progressed. Thank you so much for your videos. She likes to hear me talk and she apologizes for not following, but no matter what I say I smile and say it just feels good to talk to you. Love her so much!! ❤❤❤
At the end of the day, it’s is more about being with the person and making them feel like you care. Sounds like you’re doing that, so keep it up! I hope the providers you see can sort out how to help with her hallucinations. Thank you for listening and commenting ❤️
I've had hallucinations, double vision , and a jaw tremor for years. All started around 10 to 15 years ago. I kept so much to myself in denial and fear. Then 8 years ago, my gait changed dramatically after an infection in my bone marrow i had 3 operations to clean my shoulder socket out, , i came out of hospital and noticed my gait had changed , slower walking , tripping more , over last 8 years its got so bad i now walk with two sticks as balance is so bad, i shuffle a lot and fall forward. I also have swallowing issues and bladder incontinence. Ove also had cognitive issues and memory problems for a long time, which are worsening, i have moments where my entire reality is warped and i become delusional and illusional then a minute later im back to myself again. I had my first neurologist appointment . Recently, she sent a letter to my G.P and a copy to me, parkinsonism with "functional overlay." 🤔 i have a d.a.t scan coming up next month, and I am praying it shows some indication as to what i have. I have suspected parkinsons dementia for a while
My 70 year old best friend has had Parkinson's disease for about 10 years, and recently we've been noticing mental changes which were not there before. She's become fearful (of lorries mainly)thus stressed when we walk. She can't manage her phone properly ( she blames the phone). She used to be a good dancer, but now she's becoming unable to do the salsa steps for instance. She asks her husband to lock their bedroom door. She is sleepy ( even shut her eyes) during a conversation. Her neurologist has suggested to take tests, but she refuses to go.Actually she seems to be denying the current situation. We thought she was suffering from Alzheimer's disease, but when I heard about P's Disease Dementia, I realized it might be her problem. If anyone can help me, I'd be grateful. Thanks in advance.
The biggest thing will be getting her in for the testing. Talk to her provider to see if they can encourage her to go and you can check out my video on “How to talk to someone that you think may have a memory problem” here: th-cam.com/video/s7W52NVhTAU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=bZQJgUohCAJfqsnh
Please use some visuals and show spelling of the medical terms like the chemicals in the brain and talk about how to evaluate types of dementia based on brain scans . Informative but delivery could be improved
Very interesting indeed , but please could you slow down when you speak : it's difficult for non English speaking people. Thank you in advance.( I'm French).
I’m working on having all my videos available with closed-captioning in 10 other languages. That should be ready to go in a few months. Thank you for listening and commenting ❤️
You can turn down the speed of the video. Go to the little sprocket wheel, Click on Playback Speed. "Normal" Speed says Normal. Change it to .75 to slow it down a bit. Or, sometimes you want to watch a video more quickly...change it to 1.25 or whatever is comfortable for you. You're welcome.

Way to go Joe.
Good Information. Can you slow down the delivery? It's hard to absorb and understand the content when spoken so fast.

Biden family should watch this
It's caused by shock. Really really bad news. Such as a loss of a close loved one.
