Apollo, during WW2 the U.S. sent many tanks as lend lease to the Soviets and Company of Hero’s 2 has the M4C as a representation of American armor being used by the Soviets

For that Sherman tank, the Soviets received large amounts of lend-lease equipment from the western allies during the war. This included stuff like radios, trucks, and lots of tanks. Sherman’s, Cromwells, Grants, and various other tanks were common place on the Soviet frontlines for a while, at least until the T-34 was available in large enough numbers. Love seeing the COH2 content again, keep up the awesome content!

The panzer IV D did in fact use a mortar gun. It was an infantry support tank armed with a low velocity short barreled 75mm smoothbore designed to lob high explosive shells over enemy defenses and into enemy bunkers and pill boxes. So for all intents and purposes he was right about the short barreled panzer 4 looking like a mortar tank. Cuz it is.
Miss your total war vids, but happy you're doing what you enjoy. Glad to see this. And would definitely put in a Bundesvehr Cross for Machine Gun Chad!

19:40 The Americans had a lend lease program with the Allies. The Soviets fielded both American and British vehicles and weapons. You questioned the Sherman but not the M3 Half track lol

The Sherman tank at 20:03 is a lend lease tank from america under the lend lease act
Press the bottom right button near the minimap or 0 on the num pad if you want an enlarged version of the minimap. Press the backspace arrow twice to go back to default camera angle if necessary. Press the ? button next to "Follow Camera" if you want to see the hotkeys.
You can use the scroll wheel on the mouse to move around the map. It is easier to use than arrow keys.

What a game! I have no other word to say than that...
The great advantage of the Soviets is that their armor is cheap. Even with the 'Lend and Lease' doctrine (hence why the one player has Shermans), they can build basic armor quickly.
The mistake of the Germans was their huge investment in AP weaponry, like hafltracks with flamers, instead of investing in armored cars and Puma's.
Check out Steel Division 2. It is also ww2 RTS game set on the eastern front. A bit more realistic but still very good game.
I remember that I played this when I was 8 and I played the Germans because of their tanks, then I played this game again when I was 13 and played the U.S. or soviets, I played it again after my Bar mizvah.
