I'm actually optimistic about our defense. Last year, immediately after our players only meeting, they changed. Players were putting in more effort, even Sabonis was getting in the lanes and getting steals. Then a couple weeks later, Ellis got into the rotation, and that took us to another level. In March, we were 9th in the league in defensive rating. Not bad. Well in April we were 1st in the entire league! That totals 27 games, a large enough sample size to know it wasn't just a fluke. I think with DeRozan's offense, Ellis will continue to get minutes, so our defense will continue to thrive. And when Devin Carter eventually gets healthy, look out!
Cam is definitely an upgrade over huerter so I can't be mad at it if we make that move unless we have to give up a lot of draft capital

Nah, if we do get Cam Johnson, he's going to play SF (and not off the bench) and DeRozan got to move to SG position. Keegan is the PF.
At the end of games, coach Brown will lean toward 2-way (offense-defense) guys to get stops! We already have clutch guys for offense in crunch time!
Brown not Good Coach stop it. He only cares bout Foxx and Sabonis. This team plays no ball movement on offense . The shots is mainly being taken by Foxx and Sabonis. Monk and Murray get the low teens to mid teens shots. But any shots 20 or more is taken mainly by Foxx.. Sabonis at times
Based on what is left this offseason for 20 mil a year barring a magical trade, what is left will not move the needle that much. However, when you factor in Derozan & a 20 million $ acquisition player, the needle will be moved but not to championship contention level. The only way to get to that level is to have a top 10 defense!

Kuzma is a better player than Cam and makes slightly less money, but Cam is a knock-down perimeter shooter, which we badly need with sabonis and derozan in the lineup.
Interestingly, both players have experience as the 5th leading scorer on a team that either won the finals or made the finals...

If Kings picked up Cam Johnson I would leave McNair alone the rest of this season coming.A- grade with only an athletic big needed.

He’s a 6’8 good defensive player who shoots 40% on 6 attempts and doesn’t need the ball. He’s exactly what we need and makes us a lot better
Also mikal bridges defensive rating was 117.2 last year
