It’s important to go to welding school but it is more important to learn how to weld. It doesn’t matter what you do just practice and keep practicing. Nobody can hold your hand. It’s up to you. American Welding Society! Welding schools!

My daughter just passed her vertical welding test. She says that her teacher says she’s the best welder in her class. I had suggested welding as a career choice last year when she was a high school senior, because she loves art and science. I wanted to thank you because my suggestion of welding came from watching your video encouraging our young ones to go into the trades, especially welding.
That is awesome! Thanks for sharing it means a lot
I have 3 daughters and that is awesome. Your definitely a proud dad. 🍻🍻
Did a apprenticeship in automotive refinishing and have been encouraging my daughter to do a trade ,, welding is in the mix. She's really good in arts and crafts and self taught. Will be sharing joy in your daughters achievements. Blessings man.
I watched this video a couple of week ago and thanks to your no-nonsense assessment of this welder, I cancelled my YESWELDER order on Amazon and bought this one. I also just sent this information to ARCCAPTAIN about 30 minutes ago. Your videos are among my favorites. Thank-you for posting them.
"Thank you so much for taking the time to review our machine! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed using it and found it helpful, which will motivated me a lot . We're always striving to improve our products, so we appreciate any feedback you have. If anyone has any questions about the machine, feel free to ask and we'll be happy to help."
Will the 200 amp stick welder weld 6010? It's advertised that it does but if you watched this video or are familiar with 6010 or cellulose rods on inverters they tend to have trouble
@@TheoldRoss4 Currently, we're not there yet, but we're striving to improve.
It's amazing you even got a 6010 to work on an inverter welder. Nice job. Those machines don't like pipe rods.
That is the best thumb nail I’ve seen ever😂
Thanks bud
We would love to give you a same one to review if you are interested ; )
With the 6010 was that the machine poping the arc out, or you stopping and restarting? I've watched some of your other videos and know you can weld. Just wondering. God bless.
Does Jose have any friends. I need a reliable helper 😂🤣
If he did I would have another hand
Fancy seeing you here anthony, my two favorite welding content creators.d
The Myth, the legend has come back!!!!,
Chris THANK YOU for taking the time to help your fellow man / preper hone their skills up a notch with out no motive behind except putting information out for those who want to better themselves from a Man that went thru the school of hard knocks and always saying this works for me and it may help you on the road to independence !!!
Thank you mark! Your going to crush it!
I am interested in the wood stove you spoke about. Also I am learning to weld, not to old to learn. Just 73
That’s great! My grandmother learn how to work on computers at 80. I’ll let you know when they are ready.
This little welder is a gem for a beginner,Thanks Taylor welding for the demontration...................................................................Fort Worth,Tx
It is good for me to see an expert sick welder in action. Thanks.
9:00 that sputtering is very common on inverter machines.....especially ones that are not really designed for 6010 rods...due to the lack of voltage......
Most of the little machines are not rated for 6010. I didn't look at the specs for this one. Not much interested in the machine as I've got one on order that'll run 6010.
@@wadepatton2433 What machine did you order
@@dusty1498 I have the PW 325X, haven't burned a stick with it yet. still playing with the TIG.

Found you from your crawfish video. This welding stuff is just as cool 😎
Thanks for coming over
Great video I really appreciate this channel keep em coming
Thanks Scott
i hear almost every review of these import invertor units call for 6011 rods , which in the end windup looking and acting like a 6010 in the end . good vid , thanks
Awesome lesson.
Thank you so much for sharing this.
Blessings, Carlos ✝️🙏❤️😊❗️
Glad you enjoyed it!
4:12 love that metric/imperial/sae right and left hand multi size spanner
VIDEOING ARC SHOTS. Not yellin just wanted to catch your attention. When you open the camera app, swipe over to video. Touch the screen and a yellow box will appear...there's a sun on the right side of the box. Just touch it and drag all the way down, don't hold it just touch it. It takes a couple of times to get it. Did me anyway. It will dim the camera to dark. Should be able to film those arc shots. Hope that helps señor! Love your videos! Thanks man
Thank you. I actually just found out about that. It works pretty good. Thanks again.
@@TaylorWelding yes sir!
My first time viewing your channel and i subscribed.. i enjoyed your review and helpful hints. You make starting the rod easy.. i remember trying to get my rods started...oh my that was a day.
Awesome, thank you!
Good review pal,ive been quietly watching these ,looking to get a small mig for the shed.
Thank you! Me and JOSE will cover the mig portion next
Chris, that is one really fantastic stove you have in the shop......
I’m going to have them as a weld together yourself project hopefully soon
Make sure VRD option is off. I have the arc 200 and works great. Use it daily for tig stick.
im disabled, cant weld, but want to support you in this endeavor. probably going to stay for Jose
I have followed your "Financial Prepper" channel for a while now and know your a trust worthy guy so when I saw you doing a ArcCaptain welding review I had to click on video. I actually have a Vantage 300 but wanted a little welder for the smaller jobs in my shop and have been fighting this thing for 2 days. It spits and sputters probably 80% of the time then clears out and lays a good bead. Was kinda happy to see you struggle with it a little as well lol. I'm gonna keep playing with the settings before I give up on it.
It’s going to be hard to top that vantage 300
I haven’t had much trouble out of the little machine.
But it's still a cheap Chinese POS.
With that said, it works pretty good for the price.
the plasma cutter has really impressed me.
I find that the fronius 1500 trans pocket the best inverter welding machine for 6010 stick rods.
Chris, I always appreciate your videos and I like seeing product reviews but I would encourage you to review only quality equipment from reputable manufacturers. Be blessed.
Working on it! I’m not big enough yet.
Use an old hood with auto darkening lens and make a mount for the camera. Works great.
Probably guns better than it sticks. Noticed that with my Lincoln Electric 3-1MP. Does fairly well with 6011 & 6013. However, I then decided to get a rouge ESAB 180i pro and it tigs and sticks 7018 - 6010 consistent on 110v and ever better on 220v doesn't sputter like that one does. Bought it from a pawnshop brand new for 600$ can't complain MSRP runs 890$+ not bad.
Nice!
I’ve just got this machine bout a month ago and love it. Had some stupid stuff wrong with it out the box but I fixed it and got it rollin. What happened to watchin Jose run the mig demo? I thought I had seen him using it but I guess not in the video huh
Those inverter welders don't like cellulose rod. Not quite enough voltage for the amps. They usually do great with 7018
Hay dad it's about time for a welding video need a part 2 video of hosey tell him I am sorry can not spell to good on name. Thanks Jack from Va
Just wondering is this machine has any settings such as Arc Force or dig that might make it willed a little better than your first go around with it?
We want to see more of the wood stove TIA
Try 6011 my yes welder arc 205 did that on 6010 but I tried 6011 it ran fine
Nevermind the heat box tell me about that combustion device over your left shoulder! I appreciate heater designs and it looks weld-made. I found no video referencing it.
At first glance here it looks shop built, but maybe you bought it at the flea market. I need a shop heater (and a shop) and have plenty of fuel-including oil if that's what I'm seeing as we only get the one camera angle on it. Is it modified rocket design? I have the book on those. Oily rocket?
Must be good . The Welder that captain America uses
Lol !
i saw a video that on iphones idk about android but if you click on the screen to focus when in the camera app a sun pops up and it has a slider you can turn that all the way down and you might be able to see arc shots i haven’t tried it personally
Thank you. I will try that
hey chris if you happen to have an iphone theres a way to lower your brightness on your camera low enough to where you can see the puddle. when you open your camera slide your finger down the center of the screen and i usually use the lowest setting. hope this helps
Thank you
Need to know a little more about that heater there.
I will let you know as soon as they are ready.
Great video. That being said what is the warranty support and can they be serviced by a local welding repair shop under warranty vice having to send it back?
I f doubt it.
Still like the Arccaptain Mig 200?
try 6011 most of the small machines dont have the ocv to run 6010
Strike it like a match😂👍🏽
if someone has not men toned, the K rollers are knurled for flux core.....and the U rollers are U groove for aluminum.....
Thank you for the info
For a puddle camera, its posssible(I’m not saying it’s easy) to put your phone camera behind the electronic insert that is in a welding helmet. Pull insert out and rubber band phone to it. A real welding puddle camera is thousands, from the research I’ve done.
I’ve been looking for a used one. They are really expensive.
I’ve tried that, but it hasn’t come out successful yet
Hey Chris what’s a good rod for galvanized fence material? I’ve always used 6011 for job site work but most of the time I use the mig in the shop. Thanks
6010 is what I would use
@@FinancialPrepper Thanks Chris I’ll try those
It ran the 6010 okay- I'll bet you that if you went into the parameter section and disabled the VRD (voltage reduction device) that it would run that 6010 better. I pretty sure 6010 requires a comparatively higher open circuit voltage to run properly. Also, why are all of the measurements in metric? Like the wirefeed speed and the size stamped on the rollers?
Metric is better?
Chris, try to put an auto darkening hood in front of the camera
It's can handle 6010 pipelines ?
You have shown the stubby rod saver stinger allot. I am using a v stinger at the moment but would like to try the stubby. I have tried to look them up and I see what looks like them for about 25 dollars. Where is the best place to find them? I don't want to end up buying a cheep knock off. Thank you for your time and great content.
Thanks for the at a boy!
I have not found them in a long time. I bought several about five years ago. I was not crazy about the stinger V, the rod kept slipping.
@@TaylorWelding So far the v stinger is my favorite. I hasn't started slipping on me yet but its pretty new. I would really like to try the stubbys so I'll keep looking but 25 bucks sounds supper cheap. Thanks for the reply.
It's not an $8,000 miller but it does the job. for home use or learning it would be fine
Did you catch flash
@TaylorWelding I know your stick welder and you'll pic that over anytime but I also know u have nice machines but u got to show these ppl how good a titanium easy weld 125 I would trust it up to half inch it is a 200 dollars beast harbor freight has them and if u use .35 forney wire it welds like it's worth 600dollar machine plz do a review on one some one wanting to do handy man or around house that's only way I would go yes there's better but danm it truly is good and it might change your mind about glassless flux core
If I had the 200 dollars I would give u my money to try it because I'm like u if it and a industrial Lincoln or miller it and shit lord forgive my language but welders knows it's the machine producing the welds lol it takes skills but less on better equipment
You can always tell when someone uses 6010 because you look like you are opening a portal to hell LOL Also 14:30 the way it sounds you are doing the wrong polarity
I don’t think 🤔
If you're wanting to film Welding, if you have an iPhone, you can do it with nothing else. All you have to do it turn down the exposure.
Here's the link on how to do it
th-cam.com/users/shortshAc5L_gI5XM?feature=share
I’ll check it out right now
It won’t let me click the link
Hmm, I think that's a problem with TH-cam comments is that you can't click links sometimes because they want to avoid potential scams.
Search this on TH-cam:
"how to record welding on iphone"
It's a TH-cam short by a guy named "hibana welding"
Sorry the link didn't work! Let me know if you can't find it and I'll make a video myself.
Okay, so what happened to Jose doing the MiG welding at the end of the video? I was looking forward to seeing him demonstrate his skill or lack thereof whatever!
We probably ran out of time
@@TaylorWelding at the end of the stick welding you talked as if he was about to mug weld but it was the end of the video, so just wondering?
alot of these cheaper inverters have trouble with 6010 so you might have to bust out the 6011.....also for filming put the camera behind an auto-darkening hood.
I haven’t had much luck with that
Your vertical weld would have looked better if you welded up vs down and you wouldn't have had so much sparking if you switched the polarity with your cables when running 6010 .
why didn't you go uphill on the first weld? I also didn't hear you say what size rod the 6010 was. I'm a total newbie but I would have turned it up, not down. Also maybe try a 6011 or 6013 rather than a 6010.
I live in Pennsylvania I’m trying to get out of here to other state. Where can I go that I will find a good paying job . I was making $23hr and I’m a pipe welder certed on tig and stick 6G for carbon , stainless . Tig sanitary 6G . Structural certs stick and flux unlimited thickness. I just got a job a month ago getting paid 30hr but I’m barely getting by with it I been working 7 years no days offs I money is never enough even tho I be working 7/12 most of the times . And for taxes I end up paying back since most of the time I have to go work on the road .
I would like to know where can I go or apply that I would find a good paying job , I’m trying to get in the Virginia shipyard as a pipe welder they pay $38-55 hr and I’m looking for something like that but they never call back they just take my info and and never call .
Call them every day
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Just baught one, hope i didnt waste 140 bucks
That’s pretty cheap
Mine Still works good
None of the inverter machines weld great with 6010’s they run much better with 6011’s and 7018.
Arccaptain is deceiving customers by over rating amp output. A youtuber "bigtb1717" tests welder output using an amp clamp and the 200 amp Arccaptain maxes out at 160 amps and their 160 amp welder maxes out at 125 amps. Here's a link to his video.
th-cam.com/video/bJI0YtT8j-I/w-d-xo.html
Well I would be very disappointed if I dropped $479 plus tax on that thing.
Probably mig welds a lot better than it stick welds
Keeps breaking arc
Yep. Everybody says it’s because it’s a 6010????
I'd wager that 6011 would do a lot better than 6010 on this machine. My Lincoln 210MP burns a 6011 like a champ.
Probably would
Go to TH-camr for all things related to welding. Thank you.
