Notice how when Stolas gave him the crystal, Blitzø wasn't excited or happy. He just kept saying he could do better. Even after being told what the gem does, Blitzø doesnt want to end the relationship with Stolas. But he has no idea how to express that. 😢

Yeah i noticed it too! Rewatching it i noticed all the photos were covered and the only ones that showed had Octavia in them and only she showed in the photos. It reminds me of blitz when he scribbles himself out of the photos he has

The rage of Blitzø and the sadness of Stolas... Brandon and Bryce did an amazing work here. The last 8 minutes of this episode were a masterpiece. The absolute culmination of they entire relationship. Brutal. Man, Stolas being Self Depricating, and Blitzø being Self Destructive sure is something.
I think the true breaking point for Stolas was Blitzo's "The Reason You Suck" speech near the end. He can handle Blitzo not having feelings for him outside of sexual ones, but all that stuff he said in the end made it sound like Blitzo hated his guts. I can't imagine how much it hurts to realize that the person you love hates you.
Stolas i think feels he tries to treat Imps more kindly than other royals and even sins and other beings of higher power to their subjects, which makes sense as the Butler honestly seemed more Dad fitted than his own dad. So the imp he lives telling him he is just like the other right and powerful scum who treat the imps so shit, well, that's just low.
if you notice his facial expression, it changes when blitzo screams ‘Well, I’m not letting you, bitch!’, which I think was the real final nail in the coffin for stolas. we should be used to him calling him that by now, but the tone and circumstances (saying it in response to being ‘dismissed’) directly mirrored a tell-tale abusive relationship, where one person tries to end it and another verbally degrades them and refuses to leave. I wouldn’t be surprised if blitzo’s behavior at the end reminded him of the way stella treated him. 21:52 in case anyone wants a timestamp. he flinches on the ‘bitch’.
@@irkenpony17 The thing is... blitz isn't wrong exactly. We do see Stolis physically abusing other imps during his fight with stella (the one where she's moving out). Up until this point, even though Stolis does love Blitzø there's been a hugs gap in who has the power in the relationship up until this point. I think Blitzø' s actions are still super messed up as well. Like, you can't yell at your lover instead of telling them your actual feelings. Especially after such a misinterpretation of Stolis's intentions... there really needed to be a "I need time to process my feelings." Somewhere instead of all the ramblings. Tldr: I love our problematic gays, I just hope Blitzø can pull himself out of his self destructive spiral in a satisfying way. Hopefully he'll actually take some advice from M&M along the way too 🤭
Stolas genuinely believes he treats imps well but at the same time, he's living in a fantasy world and doesn't realize how he mistreats them (his butlers for example). It also doesn't help that Stolas heard the same kind of words and arguments coming from Striker, who nearly killed him. To think that both Striker, his assassin, and Blitz, his love, think of him the same way would absolutely ruin him.

Only a Helluva Boss episode could start out with an amazingly fun musical number, give us a bunch of whacky bullshit Zim-like shenanigans, and then punch us directly in the gut emotionally by the end. Blitzø and Stolas's argument broke my heart. I broke down crying when Stolas said "I think so highly of you... I didn't realize you thought so low of me." F*ck who ever wrote this line bruh. I'm still crying.
So many people are immediately pushing Blitzø in the wrong here when honestly, Stolas kind of did spring a lot of this on him at once, and it’s reasonable that Blitzø would freak out. This was a massive, massive revelation for him and he wasn’t even given a second to process it before he was dismissed. Both parties involved are in such a heightened emotional state that no one’s right or wrong, it’s just heartbreaking for both of them.
Fr, and the way he presented it. He could've offered the crystal right off the bat but it felt like he was dragging it out. Brought Blitzøs insecurities to the forefront.

This episode is definitely bringing "Moxxie's Bad Trip" back to the forefront of my mind. *Moxxie:* Why does it seem like a recurring thing...That you alienate with your toxic routine? *Blitzo:* I don't know, eventually everyone goes! *Moxxie:* Cuz you're thoughtless and cruel, and you'll end up alone!
It's his inner cycle of self-destruction. In Blitz's trip he is depicted as being on Stolas' leash. And while you can see there is some comfort in seeing him, I think it's more a painful reminder that he is bound to only bring suffering as a killer or entertainment as a toy. Stolas did the right thing by letting Blitz make his own choice, but Stolas was clearly not ready to have his heart broken. Blitz meanwhile is accustomed to the torment and seems content believing he is worthless--it's the only thing he knows. Neither of them are ready to make a commitment--whether it's to break off their relationship or to actually get together. And rather than accepting that they arent mature enough to have this conversation, they decide to go through the motion as one-sided as possible; Blitz angry and Stolas betrayed. Stolas taking charge in divorcing Stella and giving Blitz the Asmodean crystal shows some growth on his part. But he is still, at the end of the day, naive to think either of these actions will change his situation for the better. Yes, he doesn't have to endure Stella's cruelty but it drove a wedge between his relationship with Octavia.
The more and more episodes come out, the more it seems that this show is really about Blitzø and his character development. The episodes shift the focus on different characters but it all eventually ties back to him and how he treats the people around him. I'm assuming there will only be more and more focus on Blitzø and his inner turmoil the longer the show goes on for.
When this show first came out I thought "Oh haha, gay horny owl. Its funny". But by the end of the first season I am genuinely invested and want them to be happy! This free cartoon on youtube is making me feel more than anything I've seen from Holywood in years!
Other peeps mentioned it before, but when Blitz raged on Stolas, his first words where “give me a moment to organize my thoughts”. He never got his thoughts organized, if Stolas waited maybe a minute for everything to set in, things might’ve happened differently
No they wouldn't. Sure Blitz probably would've come up with something better to say, but the end result was always going to be the same. Blitz simply isn't able to offer what Stolas is looking for at the moment.
What do you want Stolas to do? It's Blitzo who just goes off. Stolas doesn't make, or even do anything to encourage, Blitzo to speak at that moment. He could've had a minute, he just doesn't take it.
Yes, this is something I see a lot of people ignoring, Stolas assumes that Blitz wants to break it off when Blitz is just trying to process and then walks off. It was what Stolas thought was the right thing to do, but he basically jumped to conclusions and assumed the relationship was already over, when Blitz was just confused. And him walking away and ending it triggered Blitz into becoming defensive and antagonistic towards him
@@ghostlyexe I don't think he assumed that. Stolas didn't want to continue their transactional relationship anymore. Either they start a genuine relationship or go their separate ways. Since Blitz didn't seem ready to take that step, he decided it was better to end it completely.

Not cutting straight to it and "give me my book, I'm taking it back permanently" with out INSTANTLY explaining why just that he is taking it and never giving it back which of course would set blitz off after what Luna said earlier 3. Walking away instead of sitting down and have a legit adult convo about it 4. Not allowing blitz to apologize despite it clearly being him about to apologize They both fucked up and I'm tired of people (seemingly, maybe you aren't?) Fulling blaming blitz, no matter how pretty you word something doesn't matter if you pussy foot around it and then not let the other person have a long hard think about it, the better thing for stolas is to give him a week or two to just think on having a relationship, they both handled this VERY poorly.
If you look closely at the pictures at the mansion, as Stolas trying to explain himself, it's noticeable that all of them are smudged or covered, except parts with Octavia. That completely shows that Stolas hates himself as much as Stella, just like Blitz, with all pictures at his house with his own faces shaded.
I like Fizz’s new outfit. Makes me wonder if his old outfit was something Mammon required him to wear and that is why during the song he is ripping pieces of it off when he quits.
By far one of the most emotional and gut-wrenching episodes and literally I feel very bad for Stolas after Blitzø angrily criticized him and then bids him goodbye. On the other hand, It was good to see the Agents from DHORKS and the Cherubs return and team up to go against IMP. Also enjoyed Moxxie & Millie and Loona’s fight against the Cherubs.
It was "foreshadowed" in the song they released before: Blitzø doesn't believe anyone can love him and Stolas doesn't know that because Blitzø never talks about his past. I've been in that situation once: where every piece is on the table but you just comunicate past eachother until it is too late... And I cannot wait to see where the story goes from here!
A little fun fact based on what Erick is saying at the end in 26:10 , the creator talked about how they barely made it to May due to extra tweaks, so it's possible Erick WAS RIGHT, and they were planning to release this on May 24-25, which would have been actually Full Moon in real life. And the closest we've got to having "Loona's backstory" is that she was already in a Dog Pound and Blitz found/adopted her there because she was going to get killed soon.
yeah, with the merch videos etc i just figured she was trolling the fans, but it does sound like it just straight up wasn't done. Meaning the next episode is probably late june too, after that they have a couple months off so hopefully it'll be less of a crunch to get the last 4 episodes out.

But ultimately we'll only know once they're out. Because i argue the same as Ruff, this was probably meant to always a be a 2-part episode and that's why Apology Tour is the only one coming right after.

I think it’ll be an episode of Stolas trying to move on, with Verosika’s aid (?), and Blitz slowly, _finally_ , comprehending what this all means. I think he’ll most likely make up with Stolas in ‘Mastermind’.

Idk if she actually DOES have a clear ending no matter what tho, yet she did say her ideal goal would be 6 seasons because Bojack had 6 seasons LOL
One thing I noticed is that Stolas might have done that confrontation without his medication. Considering how many he takes at once, that could be a contributor in how both Stolas and Blitz took the worst of what each other said and ran with it
#1 - STARTING with a song, and a duet at that? Fabulous! #2 - I was surprised that the Cherubs and DHORKS were in the same episode as the "Stolitz disaster," I was really not sure how much of the episode was going to be focused on their heartbreaking conversation, but I truly didn't expect it to be at the VERY end and to cut off like that. But Eric's right, it is perfect because however they start the next episode, Blitzø has to deal with this new situation SOMEHOW while interacting with his employees and other people, so I'm curious to see how that's going to go. He's definitely going to be angry and he explained why, but I don't know how he's going to handle/interpret his sadness and how he comes to terms with his feelings for Stolas. I also agree that I hope he is able to at least vent to Fizz, and get some insight into the Venn Diagram of a relationship that can contain "romance & sex," because Fizz & Ozzie's relationship has BOTH, and Stolitz is hopefully going to navigate those waters. #3 - I am extremely surprised at how Stolas handled Blitzø's reaction to literally everything - I was 100% convinced that Blitzø was going to be the one to walk out on Stolas after receiving the explanation of why Stolas gave him an Asmodean Crystal, but instead they twisted it a bit so that it was actually Stolas who "ended it" completely. Very interesting take. - Yes, there is definitely miscommunication on BOTH their perspectives, but Blitzø's was absolutely valid in that from HIS perspective, Stolas just "dropped feelings" onto him and expected an answer right away, and THEN Stolas didn't give him a proper opportunity to explain himself; we could clearly see that Blitzø was actively trying to communicate with Stolas once he realized he was serious, and even after Stolas told him goodbye, Blitzø wanted to continue talking. - I think Stolas' biggest missed opportunity was at the end of the night from Ozzie's, after suggesting they could do non-s*xual things and simply hang out with each other, when Blitzø says "don't act like what we have is anything more than you wanting me to f**k you, okay, you make that really clear all the time," Stolas just replied with "Okay," and then "goodnight, Blitzø." I think that's when Stolas decided he would give more concrete signals (letting Blitzø not have sex with him but still let him use the Grimoire), but he SHOULD have just said (maybe not right then and there, but definitely in plain language) "I don't feel that way anymore / I want more than sex, because I'm developing feelings for you." - I get that Stolas felt dismayed when Blitzø responded with demeaning "role play," but I really feel like Stolas should have simply said "Blitzø, I'm not joking / I'm serious / I meant what I said," rather than interpreting it as a rejection. Stolas was so hurt by THIS as well as Blitzø's rage rant that he decided to shut Blitzø out completely rather than take the time to work it out. - I don't think Stolas truly understood that his signals of letting Blitzø not have sex with him for the Grimoire was NOT properly interpreted by Blitzø; for Stolas to admit that he's had feelings for Blitzø for a long time, and for Blitzø to say Stolas just now dropped this information from out of the sky, means that Blitzø was unaware of Stolas' true intentions during all this time of not having sex but still using the Grimoire for work, and Stolas does not understand that. So sad.
the transactional nature wasn;t healthy, but it served as an emotional safety net for Blitzo, something he could lean on to make it feel believable to him through his self loathing, and Stolas didn't exactly help with that, calling him demeaning pet names, or a plaything at times. Now on Stolas's end, Bltiz's entire blow up likely reminded him of the scolding he got from Stella and the Hatred he got from Striker. Neither side is exactly in the right here, both of them had some rather scathing and legitimate points made to eachother here.

Agent No 1 wanting to go in the Luna fursuit and then later being leashed by Agent Two made those guys instantly more interesting than they ever were last time we saw them.
Its also important to remember that Stolas ran out of his anti-depressants. If you go back and watch the song, you can see the moment he says "Oh dear", is when he starts manic spiraling and seeing through his rose tinted glasses, noticing how not OK the whole situation is. There is a level of clear headed-ness that shines through after that moment, and I think thats what allows him to realize just how far things have gone, and that no matter how much it hurts himself, he needs Blitz to make that choice and pick it on his own. Its almost an effort to make up for all of the things Stolas chose for him, rather than letting Blitz be in control of their interactions. The most important choice they have ever made together ended up being the single one Stolas let Blitz decide for himself

28:47 Loona and Millie deftly got a lot less backstory though Millie is a pretty standard early life but we'll probably get more in ghostf****** considering it looks like a flashback with her having long hair fighting Blitz. All we really know about Loona is Blitz adopted her from a horrible place that is also owned by Beelzebub (you can see the adoption paper signed by Bee when Blitz starts singing and back in s1e7 before Bee even appeared).
Stolas thought Blitz thought low of him when it’s the exact opposite! Blitz hates himself and couldn’t imagine anyone, let alone a royal big shot like Stolas having genuine feelings for him. Stolas “setting him free” just feeds into his abandonment trauma, it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy: Blitz expects people to leave him so he detaches and doesn’t admit his true feelings to them which in turn causes them to eventually leave because they get the wrong perception of him not having feelings for them 😭
That's how Stolas and Fizz went, Verosika is cus he straight up ran away from his feelings, and Barbie (sister) is because she blames Blitz for their mother dying.
Not even a day into Pride Month and they broke the gays up. Stolas voice cracking at the line "I didn't realize you think so low of me" was real stab to the heart, not just to me but to Blitzø too as he immediately regrets his outburst. What a way to end the episode. 😭

Ultimately this needed to happen. Blitzo and Stolas' deal was always exploitative and unhealthy on both ends. Blitzo is a self-destructive mess who pushes everyone away and demolishes his own relationships because of his insecurities and implusively lashing out, but the harshest part is that he really isn't even completely wrong. As we saw throughout season 1, Stolas was constantly only thinking and talking about sex with him and ignoring Blitzo when he showed he was uninterested or uncomfortable with the flirting and Stolas really was coercing him into a a deal where he didn't have the option to refuse at first as seen in the first episode. There were plenty of times we as the audience saw the deeper feelings behind it, but none of those moments really happened in front of Blitzo so he doesn't know how Stolas truly feels the way we do. Their relationship was inherently unhealthy because of the severe imbalance of power and the fact that even though on some level Blitzo does like Stolas he was being made to feel trapped and unable to have his own boundaries because losing Stolas' favor would mean the destruction of his business and livelihood. Even if it wasn't what Stolas intended to do, it's still what happened because Stolas was overcompensating hard for having gone so long starved for affection and didn't realize how complicated the situation and feelings really were for Blitzo soon enough.
Anyone else think that Collin is the only one to actually repent and make it back to heaven? He really does seem like the underdog out of the 3 and he really doesn’t agree with the other 2 do and mostly get put through the most work Also when he get captured (probably a stretch) but the light is only above Collin and no one else

And the moment he's about to realize where Stolas is going at he instantly switches to that usual cynic attitude b e a u t i f u l l y portraied in the shift of his eyes. I love stolas lines, especially him saying he doesn't want to weather blitzø to him not knowing how blitzø feels, stolas has been there already, he has been with someone who he had no say in and he didn't love who didn't care about his feelings, and blitzø set him free so now he just wants to return the favor, he wants to know what blitzø feels, if he wants to be there and won't force him to be if he doesn't, and ending it with " I think so highly of you blitzø, I never knew you thought so lowly of me " blitzø confirmed his worse fear that he might be as bad as Stella, he's not but still that is his fear and what he believes now, blitzø makes sense too and I see why blitzø thinks the way he does based off being treated as second class all his life, and the fact every love he's had he's ruined, he doesn't think he deserves love at this point so he pushes people away, but he also craves it so he gets in these weird situationships so he can be close but not have to feel attacked, in all honesty they need time apart to learn and grow before they get back together, they will both be much healthier for it.

I think an interesting thing about Stolas and Blitz's relationship is that the abuse, if you want to call it, goes both ways. Stolas wants someone to love him for who he is--something he was deprived of by his family. Even Octavia seems to have a hard time actually liking him, despite the reconciling they've done. Stolas divorcing Stella has evidently driven a wedge between Octavia and him. Blitz can only expect the worst outcome. Stolas was clearly hesitant, even hurt, by the notion of setting Blitz free, but did so believing it was the right thing to do. Blitz being confused tells me he's never expected anyone to actually consider him a friend, and certainly not a lover. But he's also grown accustomed to their transactional relationship and it's possible he believes it's the best outcome to remain enslaved by that transaction. Then he goes and makes everything worse by rejecting the idea he can be happy.
The trailer wasn’t lying when they said the rest of season 2 is gonna be a rollecoaster of emotions. Seriously I didn’t think they were gonna go this hard this season.
Let's be real here, Stolas waited and waited for a sign from Blitz, which never came until this moment. I think Stolas knew what the answer was and just wanted to confirm it once and for all. I really understand Blitz, but he still could have listened to Loona and especially the signals that Stolas was giving him, and then been less of an asshole. Now I think he can maybe change that. And Stolas is always in a worrying state of depression and I really hope that now he heals a little from so many bad things, I feel sorry for him 😢

We saw Blitz adopting Loona but we haven't seen any of her background beyond that, and although we've seen Millie's family we don't really know much about her backstory either, the family gives some insight but not all of it, given the trailer clips I think we are gonna see how she and Blitz met

I think the media literacy is crazy because I think that people are giving blitzo a lot of shit. Yeah he’s shitty and yelling at stolas FELT bad. But Blitzos reasons for not IMMEDIATELY just accepting what Stolas thinks about him, is partially justified. Because that’s what their relationship has been for all this time. This episode felt so good, I felt like it took inspiration from alot of older animated shows with the gags and jokes. Feels much better when adult animated shows don't ignore what made more family friendly animated shows so great, this was a great mix.

i see and understand your point of view man. but honestly even since day one stolas was genuine. he was genuinely happy and he tried to contact Blitz as much as he can but in a lot of those scenarios Blitz was neglecrful towards him. yes i acknowledge that Blitz has thos self-worth problems and it was beautifully shown to us. but hearing stolas offer everything like that to be misunderstood is just painful.

The rage of Blitzø and the sadness of Stolas... Brandon and Bryce did an amazing work here. The last 8 minutes of this episode were a masterpiece. The absolute culmination of they entire relationship. Brutal. Man, Stolas being Self Depricating, and Blitzø being Self Destructive sure is something.

I think the true breaking point for Stolas was Blitzo's "The Reason You Suck" speech near the end. He can handle Blitzo not having feelings for him outside of sexual ones, but all that stuff he said in the end made it sound like Blitzo hated his guts. I can't imagine how much it hurts to realize that the person you love hates you.
Stolas i think feels he tries to treat Imps more kindly than other royals and even sins and other beings of higher power to their subjects, which makes sense as the Butler honestly seemed more Dad fitted than his own dad. So the imp he lives telling him he is just like the other right and powerful scum who treat the imps so shit, well, that's just low.
if you notice his facial expression, it changes when blitzo screams ‘Well, I’m not letting you, bitch!’, which I think was the real final nail in the coffin for stolas. we should be used to him calling him that by now, but the tone and circumstances (saying it in response to being ‘dismissed’) directly mirrored a tell-tale abusive relationship, where one person tries to end it and another verbally degrades them and refuses to leave.
I wouldn’t be surprised if blitzo’s behavior at the end reminded him of the way stella treated him.

The thing is... blitz isn't wrong exactly. We do see Stolis physically abusing other imps during his fight with stella (the one where she's moving out). Up until this point, even though Stolis does love Blitzø there's been a hugs gap in who has the power in the relationship up until this point. I think Blitzø' s actions are still super messed up as well. Like, you can't yell at your lover instead of telling them your actual feelings. Especially after such a misinterpretation of Stolis's intentions... there really needed to be a "I need time to process my feelings." Somewhere instead of all the ramblings.
Tldr: I love our problematic gays, I just hope Blitzø can pull himself out of his self destructive spiral in a satisfying way. Hopefully he'll actually take some advice from M&M along the way too 🤭
Stolas genuinely believes he treats imps well but at the same time, he's living in a fantasy world and doesn't realize how he mistreats them (his butlers for example). It also doesn't help that Stolas heard the same kind of words and arguments coming from Striker, who nearly killed him. To think that both Striker, his assassin, and Blitz, his love, think of him the same way would absolutely ruin him.

Only a Helluva Boss episode could start out with an amazingly fun musical number, give us a bunch of whacky bullshit Zim-like shenanigans, and then punch us directly in the gut emotionally by the end. Blitzø and Stolas's argument broke my heart. I broke down crying when Stolas said "I think so highly of you... I didn't realize you thought so low of me." F*ck who ever wrote this line bruh. I'm still crying.

So many people are immediately pushing Blitzø in the wrong here when honestly, Stolas kind of did spring a lot of this on him at once, and it’s reasonable that Blitzø would freak out. This was a massive, massive revelation for him and he wasn’t even given a second to process it before he was dismissed. Both parties involved are in such a heightened emotional state that no one’s right or wrong, it’s just heartbreaking for both of them.
Fr, and the way he presented it. He could've offered the crystal right off the bat but it felt like he was dragging it out. Brought Blitzøs insecurities to the forefront.

It's his inner cycle of self-destruction. In Blitz's trip he is depicted as being on Stolas' leash. And while you can see there is some comfort in seeing him, I think it's more a painful reminder that he is bound to only bring suffering as a killer or entertainment as a toy. Stolas did the right thing by letting Blitz make his own choice, but Stolas was clearly not ready to have his heart broken. Blitz meanwhile is accustomed to the torment and seems content believing he is worthless--it's the only thing he knows. Neither of them are ready to make a commitment--whether it's to break off their relationship or to actually get together. And rather than accepting that they arent mature enough to have this conversation, they decide to go through the motion as one-sided as possible; Blitz angry and Stolas betrayed.
Stolas taking charge in divorcing Stella and giving Blitz the Asmodean crystal shows some growth on his part. But he is still, at the end of the day, naive to think either of these actions will change his situation for the better. Yes, he doesn't have to endure Stella's cruelty but it drove a wedge between his relationship with Octavia.
The more and more episodes come out, the more it seems that this show is really about Blitzø and his character development. The episodes shift the focus on different characters but it all eventually ties back to him and how he treats the people around him. I'm assuming there will only be more and more focus on Blitzø and his inner turmoil the longer the show goes on for.
When this show first came out I thought "Oh haha, gay horny owl. Its funny". But by the end of the first season I am genuinely invested and want them to be happy! This free cartoon on youtube is making me feel more than anything I've seen from Holywood in years!

No they wouldn't. Sure Blitz probably would've come up with something better to say, but the end result was always going to be the same. Blitz simply isn't able to offer what Stolas is looking for at the moment.

It's Blitzo who just goes off. Stolas doesn't make, or even do anything to encourage, Blitzo to speak at that moment. He could've had a minute, he just doesn't take it.
Yes, this is something I see a lot of people ignoring, Stolas assumes that Blitz wants to break it off when Blitz is just trying to process and then walks off. It was what Stolas thought was the right thing to do, but he basically jumped to conclusions and assumed the relationship was already over, when Blitz was just confused. And him walking away and ending it triggered Blitz into becoming defensive and antagonistic towards him

I don't think he assumed that. Stolas didn't want to continue their transactional relationship anymore. Either they start a genuine relationship or go their separate ways. Since Blitz didn't seem ready to take that step, he decided it was better to end it completely.

Not cutting straight to it and "give me my book, I'm taking it back permanently" with out INSTANTLY explaining why just that he is taking it and never giving it back which of course would set blitz off after what Luna said earlier 3. Walking away instead of sitting down and have a legit adult convo about it 4. Not allowing blitz to apologize despite it clearly being him about to apologize
They both fucked up and I'm tired of people (seemingly, maybe you aren't?) Fulling blaming blitz, no matter how pretty you word something doesn't matter if you pussy foot around it and then not let the other person have a long hard think about it, the better thing for stolas is to give him a week or two to just think on having a relationship, they both handled this VERY poorly.
If you look closely at the pictures at the mansion, as Stolas trying to explain himself, it's noticeable that all of them are smudged or covered, except parts with Octavia. That completely shows that Stolas hates himself as much as Stella, just like Blitz, with all pictures at his house with his own faces shaded.
They don't focus on them, but you can see the pictures of plants uncovered as well. Stolas has pride in his daughter and his gardening.
I like Fizz’s new outfit. Makes me wonder if his old outfit was something Mammon required him to wear and that is why during the song he is ripping pieces of it off when he quits.

By far one of the most emotional and gut-wrenching episodes and literally I feel very bad for Stolas after Blitzø angrily criticized him and then bids him goodbye.
On the other hand, It was good to see the Agents from DHORKS and the Cherubs return and team up to go against IMP. Also enjoyed Moxxie & Millie and Loona’s fight against the Cherubs.
It was "foreshadowed" in the song they released before: Blitzø doesn't believe anyone can love him and Stolas doesn't know that because Blitzø never talks about his past. I've been in that situation once: where every piece is on the table but you just comunicate past eachother until it is too late... And I cannot wait to see where the story goes from here!

And the closest we've got to having "Loona's backstory" is that she was already in a Dog Pound and Blitz found/adopted her there because she was going to get killed soon.
yeah, with the merch videos etc i just figured she was trolling the fans, but it does sound like it just straight up wasn't done. Meaning the next episode is probably late june too, after that they have a couple months off so hopefully it'll be less of a crunch to get the last 4 episodes out.

One thing I noticed is that Stolas might have done that confrontation without his medication. Considering how many he takes at once, that could be a contributor in how both Stolas and Blitz took the worst of what each other said and ran with it
#1 - STARTING with a song, and a duet at that? Fabulous!
#2 - I was surprised that the Cherubs and DHORKS were in the same episode as the "Stolitz disaster," I was really not sure how much of the episode was going to be focused on their heartbreaking conversation, but I truly didn't expect it to be at the VERY end and to cut off like that. But Eric's right, it is perfect because however they start the next episode, Blitzø has to deal with this new situation SOMEHOW while interacting with his employees and other people, so I'm curious to see how that's going to go. He's definitely going to be angry and he explained why, but I don't know how he's going to handle/interpret his sadness and how he comes to terms with his feelings for Stolas. I also agree that I hope he is able to at least vent to Fizz, and get some insight into the Venn Diagram of a relationship that can contain "romance & sex," because Fizz & Ozzie's relationship has BOTH, and Stolitz is hopefully going to navigate those waters.
#3 - I am extremely surprised at how Stolas handled Blitzø's reaction to literally everything - I was 100% convinced that Blitzø was going to be the one to walk out on Stolas after receiving the explanation of why Stolas gave him an Asmodean Crystal, but instead they twisted it a bit so that it was actually Stolas who "ended it" completely. Very interesting take.
- Yes, there is definitely miscommunication on BOTH their perspectives, but Blitzø's was absolutely valid in that from HIS perspective, Stolas just "dropped feelings" onto him and expected an answer right away, and THEN Stolas didn't give him a proper opportunity to explain himself; we could clearly see that Blitzø was actively trying to communicate with Stolas once he realized he was serious, and even after Stolas told him goodbye, Blitzø wanted to continue talking.
- I think Stolas' biggest missed opportunity was at the end of the night from Ozzie's, after suggesting they could do non-s*xual things and simply hang out with each other, when Blitzø says "don't act like what we have is anything more than you wanting me to f**k you, okay, you make that really clear all the time," Stolas just replied with "Okay," and then "goodnight, Blitzø." I think that's when Stolas decided he would give more concrete signals (letting Blitzø not have sex with him but still let him use the Grimoire), but he SHOULD have just said (maybe not right then and there, but definitely in plain language) "I don't feel that way anymore / I want more than sex, because I'm developing feelings for you."
- I get that Stolas felt dismayed when Blitzø responded with demeaning "role play," but I really feel like Stolas should have simply said "Blitzø, I'm not joking / I'm serious / I meant what I said," rather than interpreting it as a rejection. Stolas was so hurt by THIS as well as Blitzø's rage rant that he decided to shut Blitzø out completely rather than take the time to work it out.
- I don't think Stolas truly understood that his signals of letting Blitzø not have sex with him for the Grimoire was NOT properly interpreted by Blitzø; for Stolas to admit that he's had feelings for Blitzø for a long time, and for Blitzø to say Stolas just now dropped this information from out of the sky, means that Blitzø was unaware of Stolas' true intentions during all this time of not having sex but still using the Grimoire for work, and Stolas does not understand that. So sad.
the transactional nature wasn;t healthy, but it served as an emotional safety net for Blitzo, something he could lean on to make it feel believable to him through his self loathing, and Stolas didn't exactly help with that, calling him demeaning pet names, or a plaything at times. Now on Stolas's end, Bltiz's entire blow up likely reminded him of the scolding he got from Stella and the Hatred he got from Striker.
Neither side is exactly in the right here, both of them had some rather scathing and legitimate points made to eachother here.
Whoever wrote the “I think so highly of you” line needs a hug.. cause I get the feeling that was more than just a line for the show..

Agent No 1 wanting to go in the Luna fursuit and then later being leashed by Agent Two made those guys instantly more interesting than they ever were last time we saw them.
Its also important to remember that Stolas ran out of his anti-depressants. If you go back and watch the song, you can see the moment he says "Oh dear", is when he starts manic spiraling and seeing through his rose tinted glasses, noticing how not OK the whole situation is. There is a level of clear headed-ness that shines through after that moment, and I think thats what allows him to realize just how far things have gone, and that no matter how much it hurts himself, he needs Blitz to make that choice and pick it on his own. Its almost an effort to make up for all of the things Stolas chose for him, rather than letting Blitz be in control of their interactions. The most important choice they have ever made together ended up being the single one Stolas let Blitz decide for himself

28:47 Loona and Millie deftly got a lot less backstory though Millie is a pretty standard early life but we'll probably get more in ghostf****** considering it looks like a flashback with her having long hair fighting Blitz.
All we really know about Loona is Blitz adopted her from a horrible place that is also owned by Beelzebub (you can see the adoption paper signed by Bee when Blitz starts singing and back in s1e7 before Bee even appeared).
Stolas thought Blitz thought low of him when it’s the exact opposite! Blitz hates himself and couldn’t imagine anyone, let alone a royal big shot like Stolas having genuine feelings for him. Stolas “setting him free” just feeds into his abandonment trauma, it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy: Blitz expects people to leave him so he detaches and doesn’t admit his true feelings to them which in turn causes them to eventually leave because they get the wrong perception of him not having feelings for them 😭
That's how Stolas and Fizz went, Verosika is cus he straight up ran away from his feelings, and Barbie (sister) is because she blames Blitz for their mother dying.

Not even a day into Pride Month and they broke the gays up. Stolas voice cracking at the line "I didn't realize you think so low of me" was real stab to the heart, not just to me but to Blitzø too as he immediately regrets his outburst. What a way to end the episode. 😭

Ultimately this needed to happen.
Blitzo and Stolas' deal was always exploitative and unhealthy on both ends.
Blitzo is a self-destructive mess who pushes everyone away and demolishes his own relationships because of his insecurities and implusively lashing out, but the harshest part is that he really isn't even completely wrong.
As we saw throughout season 1, Stolas was constantly only thinking and talking about sex with him and ignoring Blitzo when he showed he was uninterested or uncomfortable with the flirting and Stolas really was coercing him into a a deal where he didn't have the option to refuse at first as seen in the first episode.
There were plenty of times we as the audience saw the deeper feelings behind it, but none of those moments really happened in front of Blitzo so he doesn't know how Stolas truly feels the way we do.
Their relationship was inherently unhealthy because of the severe imbalance of power and the fact that even though on some level Blitzo does like Stolas he was being made to feel trapped and unable to have his own boundaries because losing Stolas' favor would mean the destruction of his business and livelihood. Even if it wasn't what Stolas intended to do, it's still what happened because Stolas was overcompensating hard for having gone so long starved for affection and didn't realize how complicated the situation and feelings really were for Blitzo soon enough.

But damn that Stolitz scene?Christ; Blitz is going through so much in the span of 6 minutes and his soft and insecure side is SO present in this one. Like how he instantly went to 'I can do better' even though he didnt have to just to not lose what they have.
And the moment he's about to realize where Stolas is going at he instantly switches to that usual cynic attitude b e a u t i f u l l y portraied in the shift of his eyes.
Also love that him being an angry/angsty crier is now officaly canon lmao
LOVE your guys’ reaction!! earlier in season 1, it was a lot easier to hound on blitzø for being an ass to stolas. and he IS, don’t get that twisted- but you guys right off the bat understood the way he is in this episode, and i appreciate that. both stolas and blitzø have a lot to work on and they’re just **beginning** to communicate. they’re still bad at it, but they’re doing it

I love stolas lines, especially him saying he doesn't want to weather blitzø to him not knowing how blitzø feels, stolas has been there already, he has been with someone who he had no say in and he didn't love who didn't care about his feelings, and blitzø set him free so now he just wants to return the favor, he wants to know what blitzø feels, if he wants to be there and won't force him to be if he doesn't, and ending it with " I think so highly of you blitzø, I never knew you thought so lowly of me " blitzø confirmed his worse fear that he might be as bad as Stella, he's not but still that is his fear and what he believes now, blitzø makes sense too and I see why blitzø thinks the way he does based off being treated as second class all his life, and the fact every love he's had he's ruined, he doesn't think he deserves love at this point so he pushes people away, but he also craves it so he gets in these weird situationships so he can be close but not have to feel attacked, in all honesty they need time apart to learn and grow before they get back together, they will both be much healthier for it.
The "I think so highly of you. I didn't know you thought so low of me." line is the most heartbreaking line in the whole show so far, and also my new favorite. That hit hard. Fuck, man.

I think an interesting thing about Stolas and Blitz's relationship is that the abuse, if you want to call it, goes both ways. Stolas wants someone to love him for who he is--something he was deprived of by his family. Even Octavia seems to have a hard time actually liking him, despite the reconciling they've done. Stolas divorcing Stella has evidently driven a wedge between Octavia and him. Blitz can only expect the worst outcome. Stolas was clearly hesitant, even hurt, by the notion of setting Blitz free, but did so believing it was the right thing to do. Blitz being confused tells me he's never expected anyone to actually consider him a friend, and certainly not a lover. But he's also grown accustomed to their transactional relationship and it's possible he believes it's the best outcome to remain enslaved by that transaction. Then he goes and makes everything worse by rejecting the idea he can be happy.

Let's be real here, Stolas waited and waited for a sign from Blitz, which never came until this moment. I think Stolas knew what the answer was and just wanted to confirm it once and for all. I really understand Blitz, but he still could have listened to Loona and especially the signals that Stolas was giving him, and then been less of an asshole. Now I think he can maybe change that. And Stolas is always in a worrying state of depression and I really hope that now he heals a little from so many bad things, I feel sorry for him 😢

We saw Blitz adopting Loona but we haven't seen any of her background beyond that, and although we've seen Millie's family we don't really know much about her backstory either, the family gives some insight but not all of it, given the trailer clips I think we are gonna see how she and Blitz met
I don't think there is much for millie, I think she's just a farm girl who moved to the city when she grew up.

I always thought it referred to the royals, but I figured it was aimed at Stella and/or her brother, given they disapprove of stolas and blitz's relationship and have been trying to kill stolas. (since it looks like blitz is fighting her brother later in the trailer) I figured a breakup was coming, but thought that would be from after they presumably made up late in the season.

This episode was much more sad than I expected from the first season of Helluva Boss.
I think the media literacy is crazy because I think that people are giving blitzo a lot of shit. Yeah he’s shitty and yelling at stolas FELT bad. But Blitzos reasons for not IMMEDIATELY just accepting what Stolas thinks about him, is partially justified. Because that’s what their relationship has been for all this time. Especially how stolas was prepared to just LEAVE him with these feelings without giving blitzo time to even process it when he doesn’t even ask how BLITZO feels about it. (Not saying blitzo is right either for throwing stolas’s feelings in his face
This episode felt so good, I felt like it took inspiration from alot of older animated shows with the gags and jokes. Feels much better when adult animated shows don't ignore what made more family friendly animated shows so great, this was a great mix.
