Here's the context you're missing: Blitzo hates himself. That's it. He hates himself so much that he completely refuses to believe that anyone might like him for him. It's why he's acting like Stolas doesn't want more than sex no matter what Stolas says and it's why he's obsessed with Moxxie. He craves a relationship like Moxxie and Millie have, but thinks it's not attainable for him, so he's trying to live vicariously through Moxxie despite ignoring Millie when she sends texts asking for Blitzo's opinion on sex stuff because he's not interested in them separately, he's interested in their dynamic as a couple.
I think it’s easier to understand that after you’ve rewatched Episode 6 and watched a little further into the series.

As seen in his trip in episode 6 stolas sat on a golden throne and leashed him. He is lesser than a prince goetia. More like a pet or plaything. Not to mention imps have similar lifespans to humans whereas goetia are either immortal or verrrry long lasting. Plus only killed through angelic weaponry like sinners whereas imps can die to regular weapons. Hell diseases. ACID RAIN! Oh hell fire which is worse than earth fire. Blitz is in no way deserving of stolas in his eyes. And stolas just wants company and sees the good in blitz. The only "love" he's known is his screeching toxic parakeet of a wife. And his daughter but that's different from romantic love.

Which just indulges blitzo in his image of his relationship with stolas and HIMSELF. But especifically his image of stolas.
The reality is that Stolas DID only want sex from blitzo, no matter his feelings inside. And that's what he sees, that's what he sees himself as.
The reason Bee told Loona that something was up with Blitzo is because she can sense people's energy when they're being glutinous. Everyone at the party was indulging in order to have fun and enjoy themselves; but Blitzo was indulging to drown out his pain and self-loathing. That is why she was worried and asked Loona to get him out of there.

Not only that but; she's usually the soul of the party, all attention to her. you can see her reaction the moment he wins and gets cheered by the crowd and she's not at the center of things. Beeing the Queen, social engineering is certainly a thing.

Most of the sins require you to continue living and have a good time by indulging in them repeatedly. Maybe Wrath will turn up at some point though and change that pattern again...

@annacarlsson1280 fair, but the main point wasn't what Blitzo was doing, but why he was doing it. She didn't care about his actions, in that case he was a dime a dozen, it was the fact he was doing them self destructively that she held issue with. Whether it was altruistic or not is debatable.

Also, cotton candy is like the perfect food to depict gluttony, because it dissolves when you eat it. Meaning you keep eating without ever feeling full. You can tell that Queen Bees' design is incredibly intricate.

The thing with Blitzø is that he hates himself so much due to past mistakes (you'll learn later) that he dosen't think he deserves love. That's why he pushes away Stolas, yet tries to put himself with Moxxie and Millie.
On top of that, you see in all the photos of Blitzø around his house, his face is crossed off

I think the reason why the song is mostly about cotton candy is bc cotton candy has absolutely no nutritional value whatsoever so its a perfect representation of gluttony. Even honey has medicinal properties despite its sweetness. Cotton candy is eaten just for the sugar and dopamine, aka pure unadulterated gluttony.
It's also mostly air, so eating enough to feel full is also gluttonous.

13:26 When Ozzie called Stolas out for sleeping with Blitz, Stolas hid behind his menu in embarrassment and in a sense shunned Blitz (albeit unintentionally I’m sure), hence why Blitz stated they should just leave. He felt like he was an embarrassment to Stolas and felt the need to retreat
Fun Fact: Kesha actually didn't sing Cotton Candy. She was still in a legal dispute with her former label (idk I think it could be her producer or smth) so there were legal issues with her singing. They got an amazing Kesha impersonator to sing the song though.
im so so so happy she was able to be Bee’s speaking voice because she is absolutely the perfect casting for the character! im kinda sad that kesha couldnt do the song though, but the singer’s impression of kesha is incredible, i remember i thought it actually was her at first when the episode was released.

As hallucination Moxxie said in the previous episode, Blitz "can't fathom proper intimacy, but also crave(s) it as well." He does care for Stolas, he just is more subtle and doesn't show it because of his intimacy issues. He wouldn't be so hurt if by Stolas hiding his face behind the menu if he didn't care. When we see the pictures on his phone we see a selfie he took with a sleeping Stolas, and in it Blitz has a soft smile. It's also worth noting Stolas can teleport but Blitz gave him a ride home. And Stolas was in that list of names of people he cares about when Blitz was drunkenly rambling at the end of episode 8.
So basically he has feelings but doesn't know how to show them due to past traumas, got it
Yeah. And also, an interesting thing about that photo of him and Stolas he has in his phone (kind of a spoiler I guess, because what I’m referring to is shown in the later episodes, but it’s not a really big thing either) : Blitz was smiling in that photo, probably because he was having a nice time. Stolas didn’t see him smile cause he was sleeping. And in every pictures of Blitz that Stolas has in his own phone, Blitz isn’t smiling, which lead him to think that Blitz may never had any good time when the two of them were together.

21:24 Danny, gluttony isn’t just about food, it’s about self indulgence. Sure, food can be involved, but overall Gluttony IS the want for dopamine and self satisfaction. This is why B is actually a very cool character. She genuinely wants her guests to be happy. It’s why she said Blitz had an off vibe, Blitz was indulging to forget, not pleasure. I think she’s a good character, she just wanted what was best for Blitz and for Loona.

Envy takes the last slice of pizza to make sure nobody else gets to have any. Pride takes the last slice of pizza because they feel like they deserve it. Wrath takes the last slice of pizza because they know one specific person was genuinely looking forward to it, and fuck that guy. Sloth doesn't take the last slice of pizza even though they're starving because they just don't care.

Not sure if anyone had mentioned: When Stolas is brought home, he refers to Blitz0 as "Blitz", the first time he's actually called him that, usually it's a pet name (Blitzy). It partially shows that he really does feel like that it was the thing that was wrong, that he wasn't fully listening and respecting Blitz as a person, so him changing how he responded was more of an apology than it probably first came across as.

That was my face too lol, I honestly ship Stolitzø or whatever you wanna call it. But I understand that Blitzø hates himself and doesn’t think anyone would care about him in that type of a way (and thinks that Stolas only wants to have sex with him) but at the time I didn’t understand why he wouldn’t let Stolas hold his hand.

Honestly it feels like people dont realize that theres a massive difference between getting wasted while having fun and getting wasted because you are at a really bad place mentally and are seeking an escape from it
I remember someone saying that the cotton candy song is so on brand for gluttony: delicious (ear) candy, but no substance/nutritional value and I love that
the reason for the cotton candy bit with her is due to cotton candy being basically empty calories, its nice to eat but you'll find yourself still wanting more and more because you cant get full off of it
You can get full on empty calories (think heavy cakes) but the absolute pure sugar of cotton candy just dissolves meaning you can't get full (so you're right about it not being filling just wrong on what empty calories means)
Asmodeus and Bee are definitely 2 of my favorite sins simply because of how genuine they are, they know how to have fun without going overboard with it, they know when something’s gone too far. Asmodeus is lust, but he isn’t into unnatural list, he’s into the natural lust between 2 individuals that like eachother, and Bee is gluttony, though she knows when a person is ruining themselves, and she would rather they have fun for the fact that it’s fun, if a person is doing something that is ruining themselves, then they aren’t having fun

So a big part of why Blitz was acting that way towards Stolas is because Blitz is sort of convinced that nobody can actually love him, so Stolas just must want something from him, and it's just some sort of fetish for him. Stolas accidentally plays into this at times, by sort of treating Blitz a bit like he's a pet, or not an equal (the little pets names, constantly telling him how cute he is in a baby voice, calling him his impish little plaything) so when Stolas hides his face when he gets called out for being with Blitz, Blitz takes that as confirmation. Stolas has nothing but good intentions, but when Stolas starts trying to be more emotionally intimate with him it just pisses Blitz off because Stolas isn't being "real" with him.
Would like to point out that Stolas is being called out for abandoning his daughter in order to fuck Blitz. And that he gave up on a “smokin’ wife.” I mean, God, where do you begin to take apart how untrue all of that is? I know it’s Hell, but Stolas’s berserk button is anything that might harm Octavia or the suggestion that he might ever abandon her.

The point of Gluttony is over indulging for the sake of pleasure. Bee recognized that Blitz was over indulging to avoid his feelings and making himself feel worse. That's why she thought Loona should check on him. Not because he was ruining the party, but because the energy she gets from people overindulging has a taste, and the energy from him was foul. As for him ignoring Stolas, but saying he'll die alone. That is because he is a self saboteur. He doesn't think he deserves true love like Mox and Millie, so he stalks them to live vicariously through them. But when it comes to himself, he'll always push anyone who truly cares about him away because he thinks he'll only hurt them in the end. Self fulfilling prophecy, self sabotage.
The problem with Hazbin Hotel is they didn’t have time to tell the story they wanted and didn’t know how to compromise. Since they have full creative freedom & no time frame for this one you can really tell the difference in quality
This is pretty much my first response for any Hazbin criticisms because it’s seriously the source of all of its issues. The stupid time constraints. It makes me furious to think about every time. Because with Helluva Boss we can see just how well done it is with that freedom; imagine how much better Hazbin could be if given more room to work, especially considering the work that’s already been put in, all of the talent behind it, and now all of the support they have. Not to mention how much they managed to do in such a short time (only two and a half hours for a whole season?!? plus the forty minute pilot). I could go on and on and on about the stupid limitations put on Hazbin Hotel.
It's absolutely fucking ridiculous and I will forever want Amazon's head.

Not only is Ozzie's my favorite Helluva Boss episode, House of Asmodeus is hands-down my favorite villain song in anything ever. Fizz and Ozzie's voices work off of each other so well and the lounge music vibe works SO WELL.
It's hands down the catchiest song so far

Around 22:25 you pointed out the background demon with a cast. Fun fact, in episode 5 that was the demon that was tossed off the stage by striker, the assassin, when he was singing on stage. 😊
The 8th episode was delayed due to one of the songs in it, there was legal issues going on with it, but they finally worked it out, and it airs in season 2.
Every time you say you love Stolas I do a happy dance because you insulted him so hard the first episodes and I KNEW you'd love him in the end
NGL I love how the first thing Danny compares Ke$ha's music to is rock candy (a treat that's pretty much pure sugar with a bit of fruit flavor added,) RIGHT as we get into the song titled COTTON Candy (a treat that's pretty much pure sugar with a bit of fruit flavor added), and also refers to it as "junk food music" when a large chunk of Cotton Candy references junk food.
It's not quite as uncanny (and unintentionally hilarious) as his accidental manifestation of Alex Brightman earlier in the vid, but still neat.
Stoles has shown and hinted that he wants to have a more intimate relationship with Blitzo .Stolas even bows down to Blitzo as a sign that his love for Blitzo has always has been in love since they were both children. Blitzo is the proof of the phrase “ you need to learn self love before can fully love another “. Blitzo being consumed by self hate is what makes him not able to return any affection back to Stolas .
I love Stolas so much. I truly believe He will wait for Blitzo no matter the time it takes and He will still keep reminding Blitzo That his love is True .
Tbf, not only were his hints completely overshadowed by his blatant sexualizing of Blitzø, but he also called Blitzø his plaything (or similar) most of the time. So, it makes sense that Blitzø doesn't believe him. The final nail is him hiding his face when someone who ranks higher than him points to their relationship. Stolas was ashamed to be seen with Blitø. That was pretty much the confirmation he needed to believe Stolas just saw him as a booty call.
I would like to nitpick a bit. The phrase "you need to learn self love before you can fully love another" isn't really true. Not loving yourself doesn't make you incapable of loving someone else, but it does make you unable to accept someone else's love, because you don't believe anyone can truly love you or you believe you don't deserve love. It makes it difficult or even unable to have a healthy relationship, yes, but that's not the same as not being able to love someone.
Danny picking up on the pure terror that episode 7 is as early on as he did is such a mood 😭 that episode is devastating

The reason Blitz stalks Moxxi and Millie so much is that he longs for a love as pure as theirs, a relationship as strong. But he's too scared and insecure to think that stolas really like him or to seek out that kind of relationship for himself, so he'd rather fantasize about crashing into theirs lol

Another thing I do want to bring up is Blitzø and Stolas’s relationship. The thing is Blitzø not only hates himself due to past traumas (you’ll see in season 2), but also because Stolas is of a higher class than him.
Stolas is a prince of hell and part of the Goaetia royal family. Blitzø on the other hand is an imp demon and his species is considered lower-class amongst demon kind especially to beings like Stolas.
But he feels he’s unworthy to be with someone like Stolas and feels Stolas is only using him to sleep with him on a monthly basis.
22:21 is not a “random background demon with a cast on” it’s the demon from strikers song that he kicked and everyone dog piled on her, causing her arm to break. it’s actually a really nice continuity section :)

So the thing with Blitzø is that he hates himself. If you look at the pictures in his and Lunas apartment you notice that he has drawn with a black marker over his own face in every single picture. He thinks so lowly of himself that he can’t even fathom the idea that someone like Stolas might actually have true feelings for him. That’s also why he’s so obsessed with Moxxie and Millies relationship, because they have exactly the kind of pure relationship Blitz wants to have with someone. At the same time Blitz doesn’t think that he deserves it, and sees it as an unattainable dream.
"You sold your life for a thrust~!" The music is devastating and beautiful and I love so much how you like Helluva Boss just as much as the rest of us.

Here's the thing about Blitzo. He isn't wrong to think this way at all. Between all of Stolas' "dirty talk" and the fact that Blitz can't really deny Stolas' wishes or else his entire livelihood could potentially go belly up. If Stolas isn't satisfied, he can just take his grimoire back and IMP is done for. Regardless of intentions, this entire relationship is founded on Blitzo not really being able to consent. Blitz standing up for himself here
Meanwhile Stolas is using Blitz as a crutch to avoid making any real friendships or healthier relationships. Mostly because he doesn't really know how to go about with those relationships or what it would even look like.
Both characters, regardless of intentions are absolute poison for each other.
I love them both and they both simultaneously deserve better.

@@kibblenackle431 Yes, but tbh that's also the main reason why he needs to not be in an intimate relationship for a little while. What he needs is at least one close friend. Ozzie would do in a pinch, since they've at least know each other, but ideally he can befriend someone that shares a hobby with him and doesn't have any ties to Blitz. Stolas needs to find a stable point unrelated to his love life, someone who can help him figure himself out now that he has the chance to be his own person.
Blitz doesn't have the emotional stability to deal with his own shit (yet), he is not in the right headspace to be the center of Stolas' world. That doesn't mean that they can never be right for each other, just that it isn't likely to work out as they are right now.

I actually love how we can clearly see Luna's trauma reflect the blitz problem? They are so used to people being absolute assholes to them that when someone genuinely is nice they go into fight or flight response (Luna going into fighting with Vee and Blitz going into flight on Stolas) I personally think they both have BPD but that's just my take on things. I think the best way to understand the sins is not to look at their stereotypical depictions, but to look at the virtues they counter.
Greed-Charity: greed is about hoarding what you don’t need or use, not just money but power, attention, etc., so being generous is it’s counter
Gluttony-temperance: Gluttony is about overindulgence, not just eating, so self-control is it’s counter
Sloth-diligence: sloth is about not applying one’s self, even if you have the ability to, not just being eepy, so dedication is it’s counter

In episode 7 alot of reactors put the focus on Blitz turning down Stolas in the end thinking it is undeserved because they seem to miss two crucial things during the Asmodeus song. One Stolas actually tries to leave the table and is pulled back and two he hids his face in shame, which they even show Blitz's reaction. so Stolas isn't innocent.

@@pantinaprovina42 Not only that, but when Blitz drops him off, when he says Stolas just wants to fuck him, that’s it, his voice broke and became teary 😖 so you can FEEL he is hurt that that is all his and Stolas’s relationship is. And to be honest, that really is all that Stolas talks about with Blitz up to this point. Sex stuff really is all I’ve seen from them together in the show up to this point, so Blitz has an accurate statement when saying this. Of course we as an audience know Stolas feels more but that’s because we see him behind the scenes when Blitz isn’t around, and that scene with Blitz’s voice break in the car proves Blitz feels more too.
