Could you live in an Apartment that is only 15sq meters (1151sq feet) ? I think alone I could, with my wife. There is no chance, unless we aren't at home a lot together. You would probably spill water all over the washing machine with that small sink. Not really suitable for anything, except washing hands. If you want to wash your face with cleaning product you'll have a mess to clean afterwords. It looks nice before you actually live there. It's more suitable to be rented per night like a hotel. For everyday living it would be difficult to live there.

Yes, so-called "studios" in new buildings can no longer be less than 28 square meters. The housing inspectorate should monitor all changes made by the owners to the redevelopment of the apartment, but in practice the owners may not allow the inspection into the apartment! Therefore, in real life, almost no one will forbid making 10 apartments with an area of 6 square meters out of a three-room apartment with an area of 60 square meters! In this case, there is a serious violation of fire safety, three doors should not be in this way! If the fire inspector sees this video, the owner will have serious problems!

It has everything I need and it’s wonderful to not have much upkeep. My place is a “back house” on the property of my friend of 30+ years, which makes it ideal as we can look out for each other and enjoy each other’s company (when we choose lol!) It’s in Southern California, US, about a half mile from the beach and I pay $1200 a month, which is a STEAL around these parts! 😊

20m² apartments are common in Europe. They're often called a garconniere (bachelor's pad), although that word might have a certain different meaning in some countries 😂
It's an apartment for singles, not couples. I've never heard of one as small as 15m² though.
Mostly people buy them with intention to rent them out. No one plans on being single forever.
If your parents are rich, you might get one when you move out, but regular people don't bother buying them. They're too much money for such a small space.

Russell, one thing I can say I really admire about Russia is how they are very family friendly. Just look at the room specifically set aside for mothers' baby carriages. You would never see this in the US. The apartments looked pretty nice, but I don't think I could live in such a tiny place. It looks more like a hotel room. But if the price was right, I might make it work with the help of a Murphy bed. I prefer to have my sleeping area separate from the rest of the apartment. I guess if was cheap enough, I could still afford a dacha in a village and have that to stretch my legs. So, what is the price for these apartments?

They look like hotel rooms. There's absolutely no storage space, even for basic things like many clothes, bed linen, towels, books, suitcases, etc, so it's convenient only for someone who wants to stay there for a short time, not for someone who wants to live there for years. Two improvements the owner could make to free up space (I've lived for years in 12-18 sq meters, so I know what I'm talking about) : 1) The bed takes up too much space. The bed mattress could be put on a loft so the space under the bed would be freed. 2) The fridge is too big for 1 person, he could have installed a much smaller fridge (around the size of the cupboards under the sink) and free the entire space above the fridge in order to place the microwave oven and above it have one more cupboard next to the others.

It's completely legal. Yuri was explaining it to me after we finished filming. Certain building types allow apartments to be separated like this.

Amazing apartments! Luxurious style. Must be quite expensive. I love micro apartments!
