Meridians are on my list of 10 boats to avoid having been a broker, surveyor, delivery capt., and boat owner.
Well that speaks volumes…Thanks!!
Can you tell us the other 9 to avoid?
As a delivery capt,, they suck,, I've had an issue with every Meridian that I've moved. The only positive comment that I've heard from an owner was "at least it's under warranty"... That boat with the gas mercs is a pig that will suck your wallet dry.
Thanks, that’s great info!! We want to move up in size and get something that is comfortable and won’t break the bank. Our plan is to get on the river and start traveling so any suggestions you have on what to look for is appreciated. Thanks for tuning in!!!
I’ve heard the same thing from different captains.
As I boat owner, I disagree. Saying that ALL models made by a certain brand are bad makes no sense. Some boats are lemons with known reliability issues regardless of brand or model year, and some aren't. Using my boat as an example, I have a 2013 Meridian 391. 2006 to 2009 Meridian 391s do have known issues. 2012 to 2015 models are known to be solid. Meridian made some great boats that are sought after.
Nice looking Harbor Queen. I owned a Cruisers Inc. 3870 and loved it but I couldn't afford to leave the slip unless I had paying passengers. I lived on my cruiser for 4 years. Buy a sailboat. You still will spend all your money but life on the water is somehow worth it.
No doubt! The one mpg or less gets you every time. I would love to have a single screw diesel trawler but they aren’t as roomy or comfortable. I don’t know much about sailboats but you are right, life on the water is definitely worth it!!!
Exzellentes sauberes und optimal konfiguriertes Boot, eine kleine Super Jacht 🌟
Yes it is and for a small yacht it is so roomy it feels like a house on the water. Thanks for watching!
Very nice!!!❤
Yes, it is. Happy Spring!!!
You need to leave the dock, drop the hook... head to the aft State Room... and see if you can handle the slapping sounds against the hull if you were trying to sleep.😮
They created a longer version of that boat because a lot of people couldn't handle the sounds
That’s interesting. I wouldn’t have thought it would be a problem in a boat that size. Seems like there are a lot of negatives with it so far. Thanks for the info!!
That the only sound that puts me to sleep like a baby, but then I lived on my cruiser.
Very nice 💯
Yes it is but she’s needs some TLC to get her ship shape!
Hours are low so you should get another 250 hours before you need a major overhaul if the engines have been properly serviced and remain so. If you can afford it though diesel is better resale and your engines will outlive you . Try selling gas engines at 500 hours, tricky. Comfort is key for me and seems to be for you also, it’s not like you are going to go ocean hopping or marlins fishing I assume. And they are comfortable, for sure. Meridien grew out of Bayliner , I wish like many marques they were still around. I see there is a great Meridien forum , club Meridien I think. The value of a good forum is worth thousands and thousands to us owners who diy or/and don’t want to be screwed over by boatyards.
I totally agree! Comfort is definitely key and it’s likely that boat would stay on Lake Norman as a destination for us down there. We have been looking at other boats online as well, mainly Carver and Hatteras, with diesels, which I would definitely rather have, to get in the river system. I have never had diesels so I’ve been brushing up on those through TH-cam and various forums out there. It’s a lot of fun to look and we aren’t in a hurry so we aren’t going to settle. Thanks for the info and advice, it is greatly appreciated, and thanks for tuning in!!!
Nice in general, but you're better off with diesels, more economical dependable and much safer. Nothing more risky that a gasoline high pressure fuel injection system combined with the flexing and vibration of a marine application. I almost lost some good friends to an Egg-Harbor with twin chryslers with 4-barrels, one motor caught fire and dam near sunk it.
Great point and I agree!! We aren’t in a hurry so we have time to look around.
Only thing i don't like is the helm. When its bad weather an all you have protecting you is that soft canvas no wipers it's practically impossible to see where your going.
I agree! They made a 408 with a lower helm option. I think that would be the way to go if you planned to travel.
Nice Yacht, it's a shame to see the neglect of the high moisture areas.
It is beautiful and very nicely appointed.
You are 100% right! Boats need to be used and properly maintained.
It is the roomiest 40 footer we have seen. The design is right on the money!!
One of dirtiest boats I ever seen
For sure...It needs some TLC!!
No price?
$199K
How much?
$199K
Run hard run fast! Do not buy, those boats have huge stringer issues with water intrusion!
Wow, I did not know that. Thanks for the heads-up and thanks for tuning in!! We are not in any hurry so we’ll keep looking.
Sorry, but it looks reeeaaally dirty.
Oh, it is!! It definitely needs some TLC but the interior is like new. Thanks for tuning in!!!
Don't do it. Get a Sea ray or a Viking.
I love Sea Rays!! We are going to look at a 380 Aft Cabin soon just to get a feel for the layout so watch for that video in the coming months. It is gas and we’d rather have diesel’s it they are hard to find.
@@castoway only diesel. Gas is scary.
Run away a filthy boat will be badly maintained
Yeah, that’s what I suspect as well. Some drains were plugged up and those areas were holding water. I found out this is the first boat the current owners have ever had. 🤦🏽♂️
