That's awesome! 70 years old and hitting the tracks! And it's great to see his wife seem to enjoy just as much as he did! Bravo 1320 that was great shoot! And happy birthday pops ha
Thanks for running this story....my dad's in his lates sixties and has his bucket list car " '49 Anglia" old drag racers never die........they just BURNOUT!!!!
Good on ya for filming and compiling this video for not only us but for jim as well. Im sure he appreciates your work and has something he can show his family and friends!
Man, cool guy. You can tell from his personality with minor conversation he is an easy guy to talk to. At 70, I bet he has a ton of drag racing stories... " and still wrenching" awesome.
I don't care what the people say this is great story and the old man got his bucket list done. He is driving around the country doing what he loves and having a good time and making some new friends too. Very cool. I like him and his car ran low tens too. Awesome! Thumbs up all the way!
what a cool guy. how cool to know so much about his stuff. and really doing the fun things and loving life with a cool wife on top. top that for happiness...
+AlexCoronaPhoto Goes to show U that a fucking old rebuilt dodge doesn't look or run to bad with a Chevy engine n it! I sure as hell wouldn't mind a 10 sec car...& it's got 9's n it!!
It's a 61 Falcon, not 65. Big visual difference. Great he is doing this for his bucket list. Fulfilling his dream! Though I'm not a fan of mixing makes.....Go Ford all the way!!
Awesome! To anyone that has never been in anything quicker than a normal car (like a 15 second car), 10 second quarter runs (at elevation to keep in mind) is very fast. Good for him and I hope he can check another mark on his bucket list!
This really is a good video on 1320, simply because of what it truly is- an older couple wanting to have new experiences, with a drag racer that's built well enough and heavily enough to both run high 10s AND travel hundreds of miles to the next place- considering that so many racers on here have drag cars that can barely be used anywhere but the track, that's one hell of a feat.
See these are the people that personify what drag racing is about... they arent there to be the fastest they are just doing it for the experience and or the fun of it
Drag racing people have always been good folks, I never had to worry about my kids or tools or anything being left out, and they're always there with a helping hand. Jim Philips is what drag racing is all about, just good people.
Such a great video, and great people too, reminds me a whole lot of my grandfather, and that Falcon is absolutely spectacular, not the fastest, but damn it awesome to see
I actually think he's got too much tire on it. Doesn't spin much at all (which i'm sure is his goal at 70 y.o.). A little less tire would take less power to turn.
Kelly Boyd Actually you are close with that guess. It's actually the gear ratio!! The 4.11 gears he has are kinda tall for the tires he's running. But I think he'd chosen 4.11gears for both road travel and drag racing!!
Just got through watching lil squirt falcon sleeper video here running tens with a Ford four-cylinder turbo on drag radialsI guess it takes a big block Chevy with a blower on it to do the same LOL.
Wow! First, Jim said the car is a '61 (not a '65) and it's runn'n a BB 454 (bored .30 over = 468ci), aside from that this is a great story. Jim's 70 years young and chasing his bucket list. I'm just 4 months shy of 70 myself and I can tell you this ol fella and his sweety are Goden Age Gems! First, to have the flexibility and strength to be pulling the wrenches on his little Falcon is a feat in and of itself, then he's still got the mental toughness to drive it in this Rocky Mountain event and pedal it into the 10's! Well done Jim, WELL DONE ol fella!! That's also on my bucket list, to take a run at Drag Week in a 9 or 10 second car but I'd have to could get lucky and win the lottery first, then I and my dear Wife would join them!
Fantastic to see an old bird (or two) fly. BTW - To all the Chevy in a Ford comments. It's his car and he can run whatever he wants. It's just a power-plant and you act like it's sacred. Enough already.
it's finally cooling down in Arizona ! so ready for fall and winter! anyways great car! nice run's. cool video and I think it's really awesome that he's doing this for his bucket list. I'm sure he had a GREAT time and he got an award!
he got two:) it's cooling down over there already? it was in the mid 90's here in frorida with a heat index around 110 due to the humidity. it won't cool down here for another couple months..
Awesome hot rod brother!! And you look great for 70 yo. I thought you were closer to my age. I’m 59 and you look younger than I do 😁. Keep doing what you’re doing brother!!😄😊
Let that be a lesson to the young'unz...just because there's Snow on the roof, Doesn't mean the furnace is Out in the basement! Kudos sir, for living your dream. 👍
this was pretty cool. I think it's awesome to see someone like this not only get to mark it off his bucket list, but to do well in the process. Knock him all you want, a 10sec car is still moving and realistically will take most stuff on the street anyway. Besides, I think he's more of a cruiser anyway
We had a '61 Falcon 4Dr back in '66, my wife's car. It was a lovely car; don't really know why we got rid of it. Oh, I know -- it didn't have air conditioning.
@mark maietta I'm gonna guess and say the chevy setup is way more cost effective and better on power and replacement parts are more readily available. I assure you sir I'am no idiot, but I understand why you feel that way. I myself am normally against brand mix matching engines but it is what it is.
I saw this car on the original clips. In this day of 7 sec cars it seemed slow. But an old bloke, seemingly without a great deal of experience but plenty of commonsense. And had little problems doing the event. Which is a positive experience.
the seats in this car are from a rally sport caviler.... look at the head rest. lmao. that's funny. I used to daily drive a rally sport. it was named the really sweet.
just a great video that makes you feel good great car but more importantly great people keep it up 1320 and maybe make it back to the bricks in good old Flint Michigan
Everybody complaining about the engine, who cares it's a modified car put what ever you want in it. As long as your enjoying yourself who cares. It's a nice car and good on him and his wife for achieving his goal.
Love seeing older couples actually live it to the MAX much love their way 🙏👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
instaBlaster
70yrs old and still racing...Beautiful!
That's awesome! 70 years old and hitting the tracks! And it's great to see his wife seem to enjoy just as much as he did! Bravo 1320 that was great shoot! And happy birthday pops ha
I was in here cheering for the old man!! When hit hit that 10.48,I was like get'em pops!LOL!!
Thanks for running this story....my dad's in his lates sixties and has his bucket list car " '49 Anglia" old drag racers never die........they just BURNOUT!!!!
This story has a big meaning behind it! Check out this awesome blown Ford Falcon!
yeah the Ford Falcon screams America
Good on ya for filming and compiling this video for not only us but for jim as well. Im sure he appreciates your work and has something he can show his family and friends!
+Kenny Galloway the only way it would be more American is if was called the ford bald eagle and it shot pure bald eagles out the tail pipe MERICA
+Ryan Rohauer lol hell yeah
'Ford Falcon screams America'.. Australia is the one that still makes them.
Man, cool guy. You can tell from his personality with minor conversation he is an easy guy to talk to. At 70, I bet he has a ton of drag racing stories... " and still wrenching" awesome.

I really enjoy seeing this man at his age still enthusiastic and enjoying him self :) this is cool bro
I have a new hero, his name is Jim Philips, two years my senior. Way to go Jim.
I love this vid....this guy built a solid car that goes A to B with no issues, and is having an absolute blast doing it! happy 70th!
what a cool guy. how cool to know so much about his stuff. and really doing the fun things and loving life with a cool wife on top. top that for happiness...
love this man truly shows age is just a number
I"m glad he won some stuff too!! Makes it even sweeter!!
Not one of the fastest cars, but for sure one of the coolest. I mean, WOULD YOU JUST LOOK AT IT!
"JUST LOOK AT IT!"
would you just look at it?
psh.. 'shakes head'...
because he put a Chevy in it.
+AlexCoronaPhoto Goes to show U that a fucking old rebuilt dodge doesn't look or run to bad with a Chevy engine n it! I sure as hell wouldn't mind a 10 sec car...& it's got 9's n it!!
Everyday I looked for him on the videos... was my favorite part of the whole week.
This video put a big smile on my face. Keep up the great work
It's a 61 Falcon, not 65. Big visual difference. Great he is doing this for his bucket list. Fulfilling his dream! Though I'm not a fan of mixing makes.....Go Ford all the way!!

15 seconds at altitude is still quick
Was pretty damn cool , him his wife and their dog making the trip. Very nice people.
I respect this guy fully. I like his thinking. His build is amazing to. live to the fullest
This really is a good video on 1320, simply because of what it truly is- an older couple wanting to have new experiences, with a drag racer that's built well enough and heavily enough to both run high 10s AND travel hundreds of miles to the next place- considering that so many racers on here have drag cars that can barely be used anywhere but the track, that's one hell of a feat.
beautiful car! ford falcons are my fav no matter the year.... but that chevy engine in it is just criminal.
Agreed !! They give sbc motors away
Feelgood video for sure.
"Welcome to the family" ... that's just class man.
See these are the people that personify what drag racing is about... they arent there to be the fastest they are just doing it for the experience and or the fun of it
yes exactly 👍
that's why I love being around people like that at the track.
Very well said. This video definitely had a different vibe about it.. Congrats to the owner and copilot!!! 👍
Drag racing people have always been good folks, I never had to worry about my kids or tools or anything being left out, and they're always there with a helping hand. Jim Philips is what drag racing is all about, just good people.
Congrats Jim!!! Hell of an accomplishment in an Awesome Ride!!! & Happy 70th!!!
Such a great video, and great people too, reminds me a whole lot of my grandfather, and that Falcon is absolutely spectacular, not the fastest, but damn it awesome to see
thats what you call a power couple! nothing but good vibes from this video!
Man you can see the concern and passion in every damn inch of that car.. Stunning.
respect for this man! I hope he makes it to home, nice story behind it though
I'm sure he'll be just fine with his diesel pusher motorhome & car hauler.
it doesn't have to be fast to be cool. And I love that he's 70 and he wanted to do this! I want to do something like this with my mustang eventually
great video, i liked it as you really picked up on the spirit of drag racing; its not always about who can do 7 seconds.
One of the best looking cars ever shown in 1320Video!
That thing looks clean AF.
Awesome Video! So cool to see them living their dream!
Great story! There's a Falcon in my childhood, loved the car and the couple that own it.
somebody representing AZ great video man very cool and touching as well good job 1320!
This is my favorite story of this series. Built as a show car, IIRC. I also realize I need a much better bucket list.
I hope my wife and I do something like that when we are 70.
Not often you get to watch a feel good drag video. My hats off to Jim for living his dream.
70 and still getting under the car and wrenchin. this is what dedication and passion is all about.
Very kool. I hope I'll be in the shape they are in when I'm 70. Love the car and I'm a chevy guy.
Super experience Jim. Another crazy car guy from Central Montana.
Loved that Falcon. Pretty consistent in the 10s. And the best part, it has a Chevy engine in it.
Great coverage Kyle, and congratulations to Jim, from a gear head in Canada.
I would figure with all that he has on the car, it would do 8's in the quarter. Still a nice car, and love that face wife shared it all.. Great vid!!
I actually think he's got too much tire on it. Doesn't spin much at all (which i'm sure is his goal at 70 y.o.). A little less tire would take less power to turn.
there at altitude rember
Ryan Rohauer
Nah, the blower and the drive gears mentioned would remedied the altitude air deficit ..
Kelly Boyd
Actually you are close with that guess. It's actually the gear ratio!! The 4.11 gears he has are kinda tall for the tires he's running. But I think he'd chosen 4.11gears for both road travel and drag racing!!
That car is just a CLASSIC!
Beautiful machine
Just got through watching lil squirt falcon sleeper video here running tens with a Ford four-cylinder turbo on drag radialsI guess it takes a big block Chevy with a blower on it to do the same LOL.

Good for the old fella still getting it done.
it's finally cooling down in Arizona ! so ready for fall and winter! anyways great car! nice run's. cool video and I think it's really awesome that he's doing this for his bucket list. I'm sure he had a GREAT time and he got an award!

Dig the yellow, blown Ford Falcon! Looked like a well-built car for the Race Week too.
one of 1320 best clips. i hope i can be this cool when Im 70
congratulations to him..a lot of us wish to make it to 70 And runs 10sec at that age ..that would b in my bucket list💪💪😀
Nice... wrapped it up with some awards. Very cool!
Great story! Good for you jim! That has to be a pretty full bucket now!
Awesome hot rod brother!! And you look great for 70 yo. I thought you were closer to my age. I’m 59 and you look younger than I do 😁. Keep doing what you’re doing brother!!😄😊
That was a great story, that guy is my hero.
Congratulations Jim great job you put a smile on my face THANKS...
Let that be a lesson to the young'unz...just because there's Snow on the roof, Doesn't mean the furnace is Out in the basement! Kudos sir, for living your dream. 👍
definitely a great bucket list check...plus birthday! awesome...and the car just puts it over the top one great looking Falcon!!
Mr.Regular has to see this!!!
Gorgeous falcon. And then there's a 4 banger running into the 9's somehow, well we know how but still craziness.
awesome folks😆.👍👍👍👍👍👍 hope i can do something like that when i turn 70. Great vid.
feel good story of the year. very inspiring
It should be "Ford makes it, Ford shakes it"
it would be a lot cooler if it was
doesn't change the fact that he'll still use the 454 chevy engine lol
454 big giant blower 11 seconds lol
+E.j. Lucas it's a boat anchor of a motor on a few % under drive
+90Ef Lover its a small block chevy
Cool car and even cooler people
love falcon ...
This is a great video with a story , would surely make a hit t.v. reality show . Thanks to all involved , I love it .
Nice Falcon-also have a '63 Falcon V-8. Just wish you had a Ford engine in it.
Man a beautiful old Falcon but it's Chevy powered that bums me out!!!
I wanna be him when I grow up! great story! thanks 1320
wow!. what a sweet car!
Love it! That's doin retirement right!
That car has a lot more in it somewhere. Dude is super cool.
this was pretty cool. I think it's awesome to see someone like this not only get to mark it off his bucket list, but to do well in the process. Knock him all you want, a 10sec car is still moving and realistically will take most stuff on the street anyway. Besides, I think he's more of a cruiser anyway
You may be cool, but you will never be 70 years old running 10's in the Rocky Mountain Race Week trip cool!
"welcome to the family" Nice kyle
We had a '61 Falcon 4Dr back in '66, my wife's car. It was a lovely car; don't really know why we got rid of it. Oh, I know -- it didn't have air conditioning.
I love Ford Falcons 💖💯% 🤙🏼🇬🇧👍🏼🇺🇸
I hope when I'm 70 that I have a nice fast car and a wife that puts up with my crazy hobby.
I love this car. I have a soft spot for Falcons of that vintage, and to make things even better, it has a Chevy motor in it. Too cool!!!
@mark maietta I'm gonna guess and say the chevy setup is way more cost effective and better on power and replacement parts are more readily available. I assure you sir I'am no idiot, but I understand why you feel that way. I myself am normally against brand mix matching engines but it is what it is.

You and your wife have a safe trip home!!
Super cool little pro street.
70?! That dude kicks ass!
the way it should be. awesome video
Stopping every 50 miles to fill the tank lol. I'm so happy I left the 170 inline six in my Falcon hahah
What a legend
Great video as always. killer car, cool story.
the seats in this car are from a rally sport caviler.... look at the head rest. lmao. that's funny. I used to daily drive a rally sport. it was named the really sweet.
just a great video that makes you feel good great car but more importantly great people keep it up 1320 and maybe make it back to the bricks in good old Flint Michigan
That's cool. Seems like a nice guy.
Kyle asked if the guy leaves the blower belt off when he drives LOL!!
Thats awesome to see some real American dream shit with a different generation kinda racer.
Once again Mr. regular cars should do this to his :)
Everybody complaining about the engine, who cares it's a modified car put what ever you want in it. As long as your enjoying yourself who cares. It's a nice car and good on him and his wife for achieving his goal.
Nice car bud, hoping your having fun
that guy is pretty badass
