Problem is, we've all been cheering you on and waiting impatiently for you to reach 100k, that this news trumps anything else! Congrats on the 100k subscribers. There will likely be more traction around the tour as it gets closer, but don't forget how much the SANZAR nations respect playing against the Lions. You only get to play against the Lions once unless you have a remarkably long career. With Andy Farrell, I hope we see the fast, open rugby he has brought to the Ireland team.
First thing I noticed was you've reached 100K. Massive congratulations Tim. I'm not South African but I"m sure got you there this quick mostly because of your SA fans. well there already is the British & Irish Lions vs the Fijian Tongan Samoan All Blacks. BILions vs "New Africa" or "South Zealand" with 1 token Wallaby?
Congratulations Tim on the milestone of 100k I hope this video causes a stir among Australians so that they can rally behind their team to bring them back to a team to be feared. From an outside perspective(Irish), I think that this video needs to be a spark that reignites the flame for the passion of rugby union in Australia. It's scary to see a rugby country such as Australia, with its vast history in world cups and just rugby in general , be capable of ending up in a situation like it has now. World rugby needs the wallabies.
Tim! Some class ideas there mate! As you were going through your pitch, my excitement just got higher and higher! World regional tournament! Awesome!!!!!
Congrats. I have been watching this meteoric rise since you were below10k. Well deserved and it’s obviously because of your love for the game and total non biased reflections on games etc . Thank you!
A hearty congratulations on 100k followers. Well deserved! You're spot on about the type of followers you attract to your channel. I popped onto 'X' the other day (which I don't normally do) and I lasted about 2 minutes before I was over all the trash-talking and vitriol being spewed on other channels. In general, your followers are knowledgable, mature and have a passion for the game. Long may it last! Regarding the questions posed, as a Bok supporter I was (almost) bleak that the last game against Aus was so one-sided. I thought back to waking up early in the morning as a kid to watch Campo, Gregan, Larkham, Rocky Elsom, Eales, Giteau & Smith to name a few. I just don't see players like that in the Aus team nowadays and it's really sad. I think Australia and New Zealand have made a huge mistake in letting us (SA) leave Super Rugby. Although I'm enjoying the URC, it's not the same as Super Rugby... There were so many epic players and games in those days and I even had a Aussie and a Kiwi team that I supported. It's just not the same with the URC and I think the proof is in the pudding looking at the weekend's results. Finally, maybe the British & Irish Lions should play the top 3 sides in the Rugby Championship. Perhaps they could decide using the results of the comp 2 years out from the tour, or something. I'm personally not keen to see a Northern Hemisphere side with USA, Japan, etc. in the mix - may has well just watch the Ba Baas for that. I love the tradition of the B&I Lions. Maybe a combined SANZAR Lions team would be a vibe though. Anyway, congrats and thanks for the decent rugby content! Hope to bump into you in Cape Town!
Wonder if those first BIL team would have imagined that the legacy of the Lions will last longer than rugby in Australia..really sad situation..Good luck Joe..you have balls of steel taking the job in the first place Tim congrats on the 100k....and this is just the start..every eggchaser and lovers of eggchasing should sub...

That would mean it would fall in World Cup year. Argentina aren’t good enough to be included, the same reason next year’s tour will be terrible against the Aussies.
@@subbie5498 Japan have beaten the Boks. One off games doesn’t make you good. Australia are nowhere near good enough. Argentina are only a bit better than them. You know they’re not good enough. The Lions have been getting better and better over the years relative to the host nations, only South Africa and New Zealand can reliably compete. And even New Zealand would likely lose.
@@jameswyatt4443 mate the last time Argentina played the lions it was a tie. Since then they joined the RC, because far more professional, started beating the big 3 at least once per year, made 3 WC semi Finals (something Ireland is yet to accomplish) and beat the abs more times than Scotland and the same as Wales and England (in NZ). Argentina is 100% good enough
Well anticipated scenarios, Tim! I am a little ambiguos here. To begin with, cultural ties with Australia are deep, and it is tradition. The B&IL will not drop AU, this time. Imagine a tradition of 150 years, and one of the hosting countries is going through a rough patch? It is all about money, isn´t it? In these modern times it is quite inexpensive for some to join the Tour, but decades ago it was another story, and many travelled just the same.... Visiting Argentina would be lovely! I am an Argie, but there really isn´t much tradition and hardly any cultural ties any more. In the 1920s the British community was huge in Argentina: railways, banks, ports, infrastructure, industry, farming, cattle, etc. But then we got Peronism in the late 1940s, and it became less and less attractive to the British to live in Argentina. Most left. Still, the B&IL style of play is so exciting and entertaining, that financially it would be a success, as the local crowds alone would fill the stadiums! There would be a certain amount of British tourist coming down too, and I hope you, Tim, would be amongst them. Huge Congrats on you 100K Subscribers, and Congrats to us 100K subscribers for recognizing this channel as one of the TOP 2 in Rugby world wide! Congrats on the 100k. I played for the Bathurst club in Oz as a colt (U19) in the early 90s. It was a vibrant, hard environment. We played 1st, then the 3rds, 2nds, 1st team, many fixtures all on the same pitch on the same day. Our best players would often play colts then 3rd team with big crowds / BBQ etc. It was a great place to be. Even then though, the best players would often end up disappearing to the league club. I hope Oz come back to being competetive soon 😢
Hello there @Mr.Tim....I've been here ever since. I still remember being subscriber number 47 now we are 100k✨️. Well deserved keep the good work going. Am Kenyan but the springboks are my favourite 🏈🎊🇿🇦
Congrats on the 100k Tim, very well deserved. 👍 I've no issue with adding Argentina to the Lions touring roster, but you certainly couldn't do it at this late stage, less than a year out from the Australian tour. No only have ppl been planning their trip to Oz and sorting out the logistics, but the Lions are playing Argentina in Dublin next summer as a warm up anyway. At any rate, the ARU need the cash injection and playing experience from this series going into their home RWC. I'd add Argentina to the mix for the next tour in 4 years time. I'd also argue for the Lions to play warm ups against Chile or Uruguay too. I'm not sure how many provincial clubs there are in Arg who could be competitive against the Lions so maybe adding Chile and Uruguay to that mix would be good. With that model in mind, I'd add the for their tour of SA the Lions should play Namibia as a warm up too. And when playing NZ, they should have to face Fiji beforehand They could play a combined Samoa/Tonga team (like how Moanan Pasifika is structured) team before hitting Australia on their next tour there.
Tim, your videos are just brilliant. I haven't played rugby in years, but i truly love the sport. Your videos and input keep my passion going! Congrats in 100k subscribers!
Wallabies will be ready for the British & Irish Lions. They may lose but it won't be a hiding. Pumas have also proved that they deserve a shot at the British & Irish Lions. Congrats on 100k subscribers
Congratulaitons on 100k Tim -- fully deserved. If only we had a crystal ball. Rugby in parts are quite healthy, if you take some of the success stories in the last couple of years. The Rugby World Cup, Argentina playing in the Rugby Championship, URC with SA teams, Italy getting better in the Six Nations, The emergence and improvement of some Tier 2 nations like Portugal, Uruguay, Chile and hopefully some more in future. Look at the attendance of the Springboks v Ireland and the even Aus v Springboks in the last game in Brisbane, with an Australian team that are still rebuilding (to name but a few). So not all doom and gloom. The last B&I Tour of SA was an anomaly, as we could not really control what COVID threw at us, and rugby was but a small part that it completely screwed over across the world. The tour was still a success in my eyes, as we had competetive matches and a series that could have gone either way. So before we go into full panic mode, let us first see what happens with the B&I v Aus tour as there is still a lot of time for Joe Schmidt to get the Wallabies in shape. They have some good players coming through that just need a little bit more time and experience and with most of the Rugby Championship and the Autumn tours still to come, there is plenty of games to get some into the young legs. Better to have this conversation after the tour. If it is a blowout, then maybe we can have this conversation, as having it now seems a bit premature. If we also assume that the next one is a blowout, how many in the history of B&I tours were blowouts, just for the next one to be awesome again. This is just a timing issue, and hopefully it will not be. Another option will be to do combined tours ... so B&I Lions to Aus & NZ as one tour and the next one against SA & Argentina (with each hosting it alternately). Then throw in the midweek games against some Tier-2 nations from the region instead of provincial or club sides. This will then raise the standard of opposition and also give the Tier-2 nations the opportunity to play the B&I Lions and give them some competetive exposure.
Congrats on 100k Tim.Well deserved.A 3 test Northern Hemisphere vs Southern Hemisphere matchup played every 4 years between World Cups .The Home venues alternate between North and South every 4 years.
Congratulations Tim on the 100K. Well deserved achievement. You have lots of fans here in Ireland who appreciate the work you put into the channel. The Lions concept is a total anachronism in the modern game and it should be put to bed now. I grew up listening to radio commentaries of the iconic 71 and 74 tours. I well remember the excitement of the radio coverage of Tony Ward's one and only Lions test in 1980. I always loved all the speculation over squad selection and getting used to Welsh, English and Scots players being on "our" team every 3 or 4 yrs. But that was then and now is now. The game is now so much more demanding both physically and psychologically for the players. I used to want to see as many Irish players as possible making the Lions squad and test team. I now hope that Andy Farrell does the decent thing and give our players a much needed summer off. If we were starting from scratch, there would be no Lions tours imposing yet greater demands on overworked players. So I say shut down the Lions and let the rich history of the concept live on......like the 3 and 4 point try, foot rushes, dive passing 9s, captains enquiring on the condition of an injured opposition player and on field half time breaks.
As a fellow irishman I can't agree with you. I still love the concept of lions but do agree it shouldn't wear out the best home nations team for the following year. Not sure how that's to be achieved, but in Andy we trust.
Fantastic Tim!!🎉🎉🎉 Congratulations on your 100k subscribers. It is well deserved & I love your unbiased views. Australia need the B&I tour to get them up to speed for 2027 World Cup... I do love your idea of a joint Springbok, Puma's, All Black's & Wallaby team...
Congratulations on your 100k Tim. You deserve it being the most knowledgeable unbiased commentator around. Your ideas and insights around the non-game issues affecting rugby are always interesting and well considered. On the issues of the strength of Aussie rugby: a bit of banter. At least the Aussies can take solace in the fact that they are far, far better at rugby union than they are at breakdancing.

Back to the Lions In 1996 before the tour I was lucky to sit in a bank boardroom with a few guys the hoast was Keith Wood the lions had no chance of winning the tour ! Keith said the oppisite!!! The players he introduced were Paul Wallace, Jeremy Davidson and Eric Miller.Wow what impact did they have! These guys with a lot of others proved whats all good about Rugby. Dont understamite the Wallabies!
Glad to see you have got to 100k as you really deserve it - absolutely delighted to have found your channel this year. Speaking of change vs tradition, what are your thoughts on an expanded Six Nations? Would love to hear your thoughts on: - If it were to expand, which country/countries should join and why? - Alternatives to 7+ Nations like 6N remains unchanged but each team has an additional fixture against a European tier 2 e.g. every year Scotland plays Spain, England vs Georgia, Ireland vs Portugal etc. Or at club level with tier 2 Euro teams in URC/Top14/Champions&Challenge Cup etc like we saw with the Black Lions (Georgian team) in Challenge Cup
I would have a promotion/relegation match between bottom of 6N and top of Rugby Europe Championship (the 6 sides below). The playoff should be in the country of the league below.

🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Congrats on the first 100K!!! Every time you mention Uruguay, I smile like a little kid on Christmas!! Thanks for acknowledging the emerging nations!! 🙌
Congrats on 100k! Shoutout from South Africa
100% deserved , top quality commentary, and well informed opinions !!
Congrats Tim! Your content is second to none, first thing I watch every day on my TH-cam feed.
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Yay so delighted and so proud of you Tim you really deserve this. Great things to come
W for you. Onwards and upwards ☘️🇮🇪
Congrats on 100K don't miss a video since the world cup! Your South African videos were amazing. Happy you got to see our beautiful country.
Quality conversations, thanks to your quality, Tim. Well done, keep us informed!😄
100K!!! Upwards and onwards Tim! you deserve all the support you get mate! a real rugby man! Said it before and ill say it again. Your subscribers/fans, are a reflection of your content. A level perspective drives a level perspective on your channels comments. Best rugby youtuber out there!
Well deserved. You are the best rugby TH-camr. I don't have any ideas but I think it's good to ask these questions.
As a Springbok, the Lions series is something special and i do look forward for the tour of Australia... However, please enlighten me...
Although this video, as with every other one you've done, has merit, is food for thought and at any other time, would begin an interesting conversation.
Problem is, we've all been cheering you on and waiting impatiently for you to reach 100k, that this news trumps anything else!
Your show is highly addictive and my first go-to TH-cam channel after every match.
Well done Tim; totally deserving. Keep up the fantastic show.
Someone commented on a much earlier vid that they should get you to 100 before the All Blacks tests. Voila! They are people of their words. They've acknowledged you're an honorary Saffa and a great ambassador of SA rugby and the country itself and I believe you are the rugby analyst they go to first for quality rugby content. I also do that myself 😊....Keep up the good work. Cheers from Tonga. 🇹🇴👏🏻🏴🇿🇦
congrats on the 100.000! You have a very interesting show, a well educated audience, and always asking good questions. Thank you and let's go for 1.000.000.
You and Squidge have the best Rugby channels. Cheers from France
Well done Tim for hitting 100k subscribers. Love listening to you 200k up very soon for you. I played with Monty back in the day
B&I Lions vs Southern Hemisphere would be epic ! Rassie as coach !
well there already is the British & Irish Lions vs the Fijian Tongan Samoan All Blacks. BILions vs "New Africa" or "South Zealand" with 1 token Wallaby?
Congratulations Tim on the milestone of 100k
I hope this video causes a stir among Australians so that they can rally behind their team to bring them back to a team to be feared.
15:57 Excellent chat Tim! Definitely a conversation worth having. Love the way you think and feel about rugby.
Great show all round, Tim.!
Keep up the good work, bro.!
Watching from Cape Town, South Africa.!!
Tim! Some class ideas there mate! As you were going through your pitch, my excitement just got higher and higher! World regional tournament! Awesome!!!!!
Well done Tim. Great channel.
So glad you reached 100K Tim, you are by far the best promoter of the sport I’ve seen on youtube. Much love from 🇿🇦
Congrats. I have been watching this meteoric rise since you were below10k. Well deserved and it’s obviously because of your love for the game and total non biased reflections on games etc . Thank you!
Congrats on 100K you thoroughly deserved it 🇮🇪
A hearty congratulations on 100k followers.
Wonder if those first BIL team would have imagined that the legacy of the Lions will last longer than rugby in Australia..really sad situation..Good luck Joe..you have balls of steel taking the job in the first place
Tim congrats on the 100k....and this is just the start..every eggchaser and lovers of eggchasing should sub...
Appreciate it. Also wishing JS well on a tough journey
Congratulations Tim!
Clearly your personality, your wit and intellect, and your love and sound knowledge of the game and the players is such a pleasure to watch.
Good Onya !💪🏉
If you want to include Argentina, have a tour every three years. Will then remain a 12 year period for each team to play the Lions.
i don't think they want lions tours to be close to rwc years
That would mean it would fall in World Cup year. Argentina aren’t good enough to be included, the same reason next year’s tour will be terrible against the Aussies.
@@jameswyatt4443 argentina are good what if they beat the boks
(The other one is Two Cents Rugby, by Mark, who by the way recommends Eggchasers!)
Thanks Tim for a brilliant channel. Your channel is the first I go to straight after a game.
👏🎉 100k subs, you've done so well in such a short time Tim! Well deserved! Keep up the excellent content I'm sure I speak for the rest of if us when I say you are my fav rugby TH-camrs! ❤ from an irishfan
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Class follows class Tim. Great host & channel = classy supporters. Thanks for all you do. Cheers from USA
Tim!! 100k followers! Huge achievement. I started following you when you had just 3k but you knew your rugby inside out. Keep it up 🎉
And congratulations Tim on reaching your milestone.
Congrats on the 100k Tim, very well deserved. 👍
I've no issue with adding Argentina to the Lions touring roster, but you certainly couldn't do it at this late stage, less than a year out from the Australian tour.
And when playing NZ, they should have to face Fiji beforehand
They could play a combined Samoa/Tonga team (like how Moanan Pasifika is structured) team before hitting Australia on their next tour there.
Well reasoned thoughts
Tim, your videos are just brilliant. I haven't played rugby in years, but i truly love the sport. Your videos and input keep my passion going! Congrats in 100k subscribers!
Excellent!!...hahaha... You're the best thing for rugby ever!love it!... I hope they're listening to you sir!🍻😁
Wallabies will be ready for the British & Irish Lions. They may lose but it won't be a hiding. Pumas have also proved that they deserve a shot at the British & Irish Lions.
Congrats on 100k subscribers
One of the best rugby shows online , keep it up brutha support from Auckland New Zealand 💪💯😎🇳🇿🔥
Do a combined Southern vs Northern Hemisphere series once every 4 years.
Would LOVE it
Congratulaitons on 100k Tim -- fully deserved.
Congrats mate...proper rugby channel. Dont change it.
Congrats on your 100k ! Excellent channel and constantly good discussion
🙏🏼
Congrats on 100k Tim.Well deserved.A 3 test Northern Hemisphere vs Southern Hemisphere matchup played every 4 years between World Cups .The Home venues alternate between North and South every 4 years.
Tim, you are way better than any of the Rugby journalists anywhere! Congrats on the 100k. Great job!
Congrats on 100k Tim, so very well deserved. Top rugby podcast, great insights with unbiased comments. Run with that ball.
Congratulations on the 100k and keep up the great work Tim!
Congrats on the 100k subscribers
Congratulations Tim great show well deserved
Big congrats for the 100k Tim, onwards and upwards. I love the way you think outside the square and look at all different angles.
Congrats on 100k subs! Well done Tim! 💪🇿🇦🏉
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Congratulations on 100k. Totally deserved!
Can't wait to have you back in South Africa mate. With warmer weather this time round, you will really enjoy Cape Town.
The very best of Rugby channels on TH-cam, congrats on 100k
Congratulations Tim for 100,000 subscribers! Well done indeed.
I hadn’t even watched the video yet to hear about the 100k. I have been following the numbers the past few weeks waiting for this day to congratulate you.
Well done Tim. Thank you for the quality of the content. The 100k subscribers is well deserved. You have really become a friend over the last few months and I keep on pushing your videos to all who will listen. I think that Australia will be a much different team than they were on Saturday. I do however think that Argentina should also get a Lions tour, even though only seeing them once every 16 years would be horrible.
How cool is that, Jan 23 to now to get to 100k. Got to way your world cup run was life changing for this channel.
Huge congratulations on reaching the 100k mark. Thoughtful, insightful and hugely informative. I love your presentation, passion and wisdom on all aspects of our wonderful game. Keep it going and here’s to the next 100k subscribers.
Congrats on the 100k, Tim. Well deserved.
Kudos! Congrats on the 100,000 subs. Well deserved!
Congrats on the massive Milestone Tim 👏🏻
This is the best rugby pod cast! love it.
Congratulations Tim 🎉
Well done Tim with 100k and counting. May your reign continue onwards and upwards
Congratulations Tim. Been with you since the start. Great job with the channel
Well done and thoroughly deserved on the 100k, love this channel and the hard work you put into it. I would like to see six nations winner v championship winners go head to head every year, maybe not world cup year. Take it around the world, imagine Ireland v south africa in Vegas.
Hi Tim congrats on 100k
Regarding the Lions tour
theres a reason we support Rugby its because ?
Its a game for ALL and respect to all .
Back to the Lions
In 1996 before the tour I was lucky to sit in a bank boardroom with a few guys the hoast was Keith Wood the lions had no chance of winning the tour !
Would love to hear your thoughts on:
- If it were to expand, which country/countries should join and why?
- Alternatives to 7+ Nations like 6N remains unchanged but each team has an additional fixture against a European tier 2 e.g. every year Scotland plays Spain, England vs Georgia, Ireland vs Portugal etc. Or at club level with tier 2 Euro teams in URC/Top14/Champions&Challenge Cup etc like we saw with the Black Lions (Georgian team) in Challenge Cup
I would have a promotion/relegation match between bottom of 6N and top of Rugby Europe Championship (the 6 sides below). The playoff should be in the country of the league below.
Well done, Tim! 100k.
Well deserved🎉
