The fox movies destroyed the X-men legacy, but I’m so happy X-men 97 came to show people the REAL X-men, the COMICS X-MEN
Apocalypse past, present, future.
Past:
En Sabah Nur teams up with the X-Men to defeat Kang the Conqueror. That huge Dome was Kang's, and that's where En Sabah Nur discovers Kang's futuristic tech (time travel) that turns him into Apocalypse.
Future:
3960 AD, the end times of Apocalypse when Slim (Scott) & Red (Jean) join forces with Mother Askani aka Rachel Summers, their daughter from an alternate reality, and their son Nathan/Cable to defeat Apocalypse.
Present:
Apocalypse resurrects Gambit and makes him one of his 4 Horsemen as Death. The other 3? We didnt see where Wolverine, Storm & Morph went, did we? Could it be that Apocalypse kidnapped them to make them horsemen as well?
Gambit = Death
Wolverine = War
Storm = Famine
Morph = Pestilence
Season 2 will be insane.
This series has completely showcased that Marvel can still be peak. As far as my favorite character it is impossible to say just one but Magneto will always be right in my eyes, Nightcrawler is my fav X-Men and I loved him in this, but Rogue and Gambit were the standouts for me and I cant wait to see how season 2 plays out as someone that doesnt know the X-Men comics that well. Super interested in your next series you do, I'd recommend my My Adventures with Superman on Max as its super good, but I cant lie a Fallout or House of the Dragon react would be great. Loving the content and your channel

The green lady in Mags memories is Polaris aka Lorna Dane, the youngest daughter/child of Magneto.
Ororo & Jean didn't have just time to fight Bastion on Earth and before that he had an army of sentinels, remembered? In the comics, Jean severely injures Bastion after he wounded Scott.
You played X-Men Legends 2 like me, it was so good. I played X-Men Legends 1, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 & 2 too. So good memories.
Past, present and future are Apocalypse. Askani's origin will blow your mind. And what happened with Cable in the future too.
Season 2 is based on many stories concerning Apocalypse.

Overall, the music was incredible, the dialogue was great. The only issue is the pace and number of episode. Any production barely get more than 8 episodes these days.

He was the guy in present day Genosha.
And he will be in the future 3960 AD! Apocalypse is always there, from the beginning of human civilisation until the very end. It will be incredible to watch Apocalypse evolve at the 3 most important points of his life, all at the same time.

The Cable we've been watching this season was raised in a future where Bastion had won. Now that future no longer exists because of Bastion's defeat and the ending in 3960 AD is an alternate timeline. Jean and Scott being there to help raise Nathan is new, and not something the Cable we've been watching experienced.
this season had so many good moments for almost every single character (except beast and roberto). rogue, nightcrawler, and magneto are my 2-4. it wasn't even hard to pick a best character for the series it's gambit and if you don't think so you are wrong.
From what we saw on Forge's board, we'll probably have a new X-men team for the second season, consisting of: Colossus, Iceman, Havok, Exodus, Dust, Shadowcat, Magik and Emma Frost
Season 2 is definitely gonna be Apocalypse heavy. The past, present and future will feature Apocalypse. Clan Askani / Nathan Summer are centred around Apocalypse as the antagonist

She got some of Captain Marvel's powers, so she is strong enough to destroy cities, completely invulnerable to almost anything in the universe, can fly faster than light and she doesn't need air, water or food to survive

Both people with the blue thing around the mouth is apocalypse, the 1 in egypt is just how is he before he takes on the apocalypse name. Apocalypse always has 4 horseman of the apocalypse including death and he can swap body's or not age or something so he is still alive atm.
Xaviar always had an advantage that others didn't; Charles doesn't need to trust anyone- the minds of others are an open book to him, and that also part of why he doesn't fear people like Magneto, because making metal bend is nothing compared to knowing how to bend the minds of people. Thats also part of why Magneto resents his best friend; what people know, see, think and do, they do because Charles lets them, and Xaviar's high minded ethics and "restraint" is a part of what has enabled mankind to run roughshod over Mutant kind. No wonder Xaviar has such confidence in the social evolution of humanity.
Those are terribly movies (compared to the source material, or TAS). If you are going to get everything in "xmen-97" better watch the original "xmen the animated series" it is a continuation of, rather than turning to the fox movie crap-reinventions.
Rogue permanently took Ms/Captain Marvels power; They are fighting on the blue area on the moon where an ancient alien ruins/base still hold air. Magnetos other daughter is called Polaris (guess what her Mutant powers are). Its no coincidence that Sentinels look like Tonys of armor suits- he's an arms dealer. Where was he during the Genoshian Genocide? Isn't an army of killer robots right up his alley? Well, the "Armored Avenger" works for the same Gov that funded the Sentinel Program, and IDK if you noticed, but Tony is "pro-registration" as he was in the super Civil-War. It was in the 50s that we discovered that nukes that explode in the upper atmosphere or in orbit (aka anything in or near the Ionosphere & Magnetosphere) amplifies the explosion, sends radiation wrapping around the world, and EMPs entire continents too, and what did they think would happen to the mile sized Rock?... sending those Nukes was suicidally self-destructive.
PS the year long comic event that followed the events of the alternate timeline called "the Age of Apocalypse" was inspired by an episode of the original xmen the animated series called "One mans worth".
Yes bastion is a villain in the comics and is considered the Third strongest X-men villain ever. He appeared in Ozt and Bastion crusade and other comics.
Really? The third strongest? I know the comics pretty well, but besides Operation Zero Tolerance I didn't remember to see him that much after the event, to judge that. I quite remember seen him at least one time after OZT in the comics, but I'm not sure, where it was? My best guess would be the 3rd X-Force series lead by Wolverine after Messiah Complex.
@@jaynecobb8356 Yes he appeared in five runs in total, most part of the times associated with the X-men or the x-factor. And yes he is the third strongest villain of the X-men, he even appeared in the last krakoa run where Xavier makes a deal with him.
@@BestXmen97 I'm surprised to hear he's that strong. I read Operation Zero Tolerance back in 96-97, and I absolutely loved Bastion and his Prime Sentinels. But he wasn't especially powerful. He was easily beaten by Iceman. He was essentially just like another sentinel.
I never read his other stories though. How did he get so strong? (And I'm assuming you're not putting Onslaught in your ranking? Lol)
@@askani21 Yeah onslaught is not a X-men only villain, would be weird to include him in the list. But after Bastion is shut down by shield in Ozt he returns to the future where he merges with nimrod and a biorganic virus, was around that time that he killed Nightcrawler and defeated rogue in the future. He also made a pact with an entity and gained other abilities, and now in the fall of the house of x it was revealed that he was one of the helpers in the destruction of Krakoa.

The love triangle with Rouge was definitely forced in x-men 97. If u watch the 90's animated series there were no hints or signs that Magneto and Rouge used to be a couple. And I'm pretty sure that Rouge and Gambit were already a couple on the show. But the writers of X-men 97 retcon it having us think it never happen. They did this because it happen in the comics. Just because it happen in the comics doesn't mean that they should have put it in animation. It should have never happen in the comic book anyway people hated that in the comics why would they like it in animation. If they wanted to do a love triangle then they should have just done it with Scott, Jean and Madelyne.
I disagree with you on it not happening on the show because it happened in the comics because they are going by source material and if they didn't we wouldn't have gotten magneto ripping out the adamantium from his body so those of us who read the comics as well as watching the show the love triangle was real because in some comics rouge and magneto also had kids or a least one kid
